Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You and Change is about how to handle yourself and your life in times of change. Coping with our lives and our relationships with the people in our world depends on how successful we are in managing ourselves. It is through self-reflection, self-knowledge and self-acceptance that we are able to manage ourselves. Change is not only an external cause that befalls us. How open we are to communicate with the world depends on how much we like ourselves, how much we understand ourselves and how motivated we are. We harbor change like a vessel. We are the recipients as well as the motor of change. The universe is sometimes called the big man and human is sometimes known as the small universe.' This book has been written with a deep enthusiasm for the changes we are currently undergoing and with a strong belief in the power of each individual to contribute to the game between The Big Man' and the The Small Universe.' This is a practical handbook on how to refine our human powers as actors and recipients of change as we are experiencing a revolution of the individual.

Download or read book Life s Ups Downs written by Vicky Patrikakos and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2024-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote these poems spontaneously to express deep feelings of pain, disappointment and love always accompanied with a lot of faith and hope for help to receive from above. I also use humor and describe different situations and individuals, especially our dog, Turbo (Yogie). I always take time to make my poems rhyme. On some of the pages you will find images of paintings or drawing that I have created or photographs that I have taken. Just like the art I create, my poems are inspired by real life. Some from my own experiences and most of them from other people's lives that I know or have heard. They describe real feelings that will evoke my readers' sensitivity and empathy. I made certain to include humor because life, even though it gets hard and painful, it has it's funny side that we should think of when things get tough. Also, to soothe the pain we give importance to faith, hope and love from above. I thought my rhymes keep the consistency in these poems and make them interesting enough to keep reading until the end of the book. Also encourages anticipation of my next book.

Book excerpt: This book is sectioned into four categories that form themes for the poems. Love, Inspiration, Humour, and Reflection are all elements of human existence that the writer believes to be crucial; hence the decision to write poems based on these themes and to section the book accordingly. The book has a very personal appeal. The tone that is carried throughout is one that addresses the reader in an intimate manner. The writer speaks directly to his audience in the hope of tapping into their emotions. He also seeks to offer an inspiring message to the ailing soul, encourage persons to look back when they are forgetting what really matters in life, and bring laughter to those who might need a break from an all too serious existence. There is something special for everyone in this wonderful collectable item. The poems take each person into consideration and the themes that are addressed will undoubtedly be significant to them. The beautiful verses are accompanied by a collection of stunning pictures that were also taken by the writer. These visually tantalizing photos of interesting images taken all over Jamaica and other parts of the world bear relevance to each poem. The book therefore makes an ideal gift item for the lover of impressive words or amazing pictures. Readers will return to those poems which were most touching; each time finding new meaning.
