In this collection of reflections, Osho’s encouraging and loving stories go far beyond the usual chicken-soup fare. Life, Love, Laughter establishes a new genre of introspective text stripped of all platitudes and clichés, and absolutely in tune with the realities of the twenty-first century. In this artful work, Osho mixes entertainment and inspiration, ancient Zen stories and contemporary jokes to help us to find love, laughter, and ultimately, happiness. Featuring an original talk by Osho on DVD, you’ll experience his direct insight and wit straight from the source. Osho challenges readers to examine and break free of the conditioned belief systems and prejudices that limit their capacity to enjoy life in all its richness. He has been described by the Sunday Times of London as one of the “1000 Makers of the 20th Century” and by Sunday Mid-Day (India) as one of the ten people—along with Gandhi, Nehru, and Buddha—who have changed the destiny of India. Since his death in 1990, the influence of his teachings continues to expand, reaching seekers of all ages in virtually every country of the world.

Book Love Life and Laughter in Limericks

Download or read book Love Life and Laughter in Limericks written by Harold Richter and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-07-08 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Love, Life, and Laughter in Limericks is a book of short poems that express insights, wisdoms, and sometimes humor. Each section starts with an explanation of a philosophical view of the author and many of the categorized limericks reflect and expand on those views. The book also has an extra section, toward the end, that contains several types of poetry, including non-limerick poems reflecting unique thoughts and ideas. Many, of the over 600 poems, deliver deep inspirational messages that can be viewed as quite thought stimulating, while others are more proverbial. And there are still others that can produce smiles and an occasional belly laugh with their wit and humor. The book holds many easy to read poems that should provide several hours of enjoyment.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A dazzling debut collection of raw and explosive poems about growing up in a sexist, sensationalized world, from a thrilling new feminist voice. i’m a good girl, bad girl, dream girl, sad girl girl next door sunbathing in the driveway i wanna be them all at once, i wanna be all the girls I’ve ever loved —from “Girl” Lauded for the power of her writing and having attracted an online fan base of millions for her extraordinary spoken-word performances, Olivia Gatwood now weaves together her own coming-of-age with an investigation into our culture’s romanticization of violence against women. At times blistering and riotous, at times soulful and exuberant, Life of the Party explores the boundary between what is real and what is imagined in a life saturated with fear. Gatwood asks, How does a girl grow into a woman in a world racked by violence? Where is the line between perpetrator and victim? In precise, searing language, she illustrates how what happens to our bodies can make us who we are. Praise for Life of the Party “Delicately devastating, this book will make us all ‘feel less alone in the dark.’ ”—Miel Bredouw, writer and comedian, Punch Up the Jam “Gatwood writes about the women who were forgotten and the men who got off too easy with an effortlessness and empathy and anger that yanked every emotion on the spectrum out of me. Imagine, we get to live in the age of Olivia Gatwood. Goddamn.”—Jamie Loftus, writer and comedian, Boss Whom Is Girl and The Bechdel Cast “I’ve read every poem in Life of the Party. I’ve read each of them more than once. In some parts of the book the spine is already breaking because I’ve spent so much time poring over it and losing hours in this world Olivia Gatwood has partly created, but partly just invited the reader to enter on their own, caution signs be damned. This book is enlightening, inspiring, igniting, and f***ing scary. I loved every word on every page with a ferocity that frightened me.”—Madeline Brewer, actress, The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange Is the New Black, and Cam

With brand new pieces that cover all areas of married life, from parental gripes to dwindling sex lives, Kenney's wry observations and sharp humor remind us exactly what it's like to spend the rest of your life with the person you love. In an instant, I felt disgust and sadness and regret.

Book Rumi s Little Book of Love and Laughter

Download or read book Rumi s Little Book of Love and Laughter written by Coleman Barks and published by Hampton Roads Publishing. This book was released on 2016-10-01 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rowdy, ecstatic, and sometimes stern, these teaching stories and fables reveal new and very human properties in Rumi's vision. Included here are the notorious “Latin parts” that Reynold Nicholson felt were too unseemly to appear in English in his 1920s translation. For Rumi, anything that human beings do—however compulsive—affords a glimpse into the inner life. Here are more than 40 fables or teaching stories that deal with love, laughter, death, betrayal, and the soul. The stories are exuberant, earthy, and bursting with vitality—much like a painting by Hieronymus Bosch or Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The characters are guilty, lecherous, tricky, ribald, and finally possessors of opened souls. Barks writes: "These teaching stories are a kind of scrimshaw—intricately carved, busy figures, confused and threatening, and weirdly funny. This is an entertaining collection from one of the greatest spiritual poets of all time, rendered by his most popular translator. “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.”--Rumi

Book Love Life Laughter Today s Poetry for Today s People

Download or read book Love Life Laughter Today s Poetry for Today s People written by John M Alexander and published by . This book was released on 2023-12-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing was always good for me, thanks to Mrs. McGowan, my 10th grade English teacher. She said that she liked them and that I should keep writing. As a teenager, I'd climb to the top of a favorite tree and write poems. Yep. Up in the tree with a pen and paper. The birds were scared but the squirrels didn't mind. Writing was a big part of my law practice, too. And after my divorce in 1990, tsunami of poetry came rushing out. With my girlfriend-wife, Sue, I learned what really deep, abiding love feels like. Most of the Romantic poems were written about/for Sue. Granite-strong fatherly pride was provided by my three adult kids: Mat (only 1 "t" because I didn't know how to spell Matthew when the nurse asked me: "What's the baby's name?") and two lovely identical twin daughters, Bethany and Kelly (by order of appearance). Along with the poetry came singing, from church choir to Clevland Opera in four years; then, songwriting to add deeper meaning to some of the poems. Poetry and music have taught me that if you can touch one person's spirit, soul, heart it's all worth it. Smiles are free. God has provided you with a lifetime of love. Pass it around.
