Download or read book Poems Of A Musical Flavour Volume 5 written by Tiara King and published by Royal Star Publishing. This book was released on 2018-08-13 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1993 part 2 is 101 songs to read and enjoy. Covering a wide range of topics, mostly love, and quite plagiarised by myself. Life in general had changed, the world, the people in it, the ways, the whys, the whats. What the hell were we doing to the world? If only we had kept things the way they were because they changed, and not for the better. 1993 is split into two parts because I beat my previous year’s record and wrote 201 songs, so cutting it into two parts makes for easier reading. The book also contains some witty one-liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on. They are not perfect, nor meant to be, they’re just the musings of a young teenage girl with crushes and dreams. Here’s 1993 part 2. Enjoy!
Download or read book Poems Of A Musical Flavour Box Set 4 6 written by Tiara King and published by Royal Star Publishing. This book was released on 2018-09-19 with total page 652 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Music artists were in my life, and I started to analyse lyrics, which I guess led me to analyse books... Little did I know over the seven and a bit years I wrote that it was setting me up for bigger and better scribblings, namely novels over 500 pages and 125,000 words, and novellas, short stories and non-fictions. By the time 2002 rolled around, I was 28 years old and wrote one song. That’s all I wrote. And I’m surprised I wrote that because I hadn’t written in six years. That was the last song, and all of them were my practice for story-telling in four verses, a chorus, and a bridge for much bigger and better things. Covering a wide range of topics from 1993-2002, or volumes 4-6, mostly love, I plagiarise myself a lot, so have a good laugh, especially over the witty one-liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on. They are not perfect, nor meant to be; they’re just the musings of a young teenage girl with crushes and dreams. Enjoy!

Download or read book The Lyrical in Epic Time written by David Der-wei Wang and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2015-01-20 with total page 537 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, David Der-wei Wang uses the lyrical to rethink the dynamics of Chinese modernity. Although the form may seem unusual for representing China's social and political crises in the mid-twentieth century, Wang contends that national cataclysm and mass movements intensified Chinese lyricism in extraordinary ways. Wang calls attention to the form's vigor and variety at an unlikely juncture in Chinese history and the precarious consequences it brought about: betrayal, self-abjuration, suicide, and silence. Despite their divergent backgrounds and commitments, the writers, artists, and intellectuals discussed in this book all took lyricism as a way to explore selfhood in relation to solidarity, the role of the artist in history, and the potential for poetry to illuminate crisis. They experimented with poetry, fiction, film, intellectual treatise, political manifesto, painting, calligraphy, and music. Western critics, Wang shows, also used lyricism to critique their perilous, epic time. He reads Martin Heidegger, Theodor Adorno, Cleanth Brooks, and Paul de Man, among others, to complete his portrait. The Chinese case only further intensifies the permeable nature of lyrical discourse, forcing us to reengage with the dominant role of revolution and enlightenment in shaping Chinese—and global—modernity. Wang's remarkable survey reestablishes Chinese lyricism's deep roots in its own native traditions, along with Western influences, and realizes the relevance of such a lyrical calling of the past century to our time.

Download or read book Din Din Book of No Nonsense Poetry 1 written by Diane Sytarchuk-Kent and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-06-13 with total page 686 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a book of easy reading poetry that is meant for everyone's pleasure especially someone who likes a good rhyme. More importantly it has a bonus of having social stories in the margins of all the pages of poetry to help a developmentally challenged child understand what is in the text of the poem. Diane has found that social stories are very helpful in teaching her autistic child to understand concepts he may not otherwise be able to understand. These pictures and corresponding text would be a good way to pass on social skills to people like her child. She has found that social skills are at the very root and basis of a meaningful life and help enrich the learning experience. This has helped her child to understand difficult concepts and has worked well in conjunction with the medicine he takes from a well recognized physician. She wants to make as much of this new language as she can. This is her first book and hopefully the first of many.
