The images are displayed in the axial, coronal, and sagittal planes. Anatomic features are labeled on each image using numbers with legends at the top of the page, and each image is accompanied by a line drawing demonstrating the level and plane of section. Most images were obtained using spin-echo sequences; however, other sequences are also used. The sequence used is indicated for each anatomic section. Slice thicknesses vary with anatomic location: thin sections in articular regions and thicker sections in the abdomen, chest, and other extra-articular locations.
