Book Pion Interferometry and Resonances in Pp and AA Collisions

Download or read book Pion Interferometry and Resonances in Pp and AA Collisions written by and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We study the sensitivity of pion interferometry in {bar p}p and {bar p}p collisions at ISR energies to the resonance abundance. We show that those data are not compatible with the full resonance fractions predicted by the Lund model. The preliminary S+S and O+Au data at 200 GeV are, however, not incompatible with the Lund predictions, although their sensitivity to resonances is significantly weaker than in the pp/{bar p}p case.

Download or read book Pion Interferometry in AU AU Collisions at the AGS written by and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations have been studied using the BNL-E866 Forward Spectrometer in 11.6 A · GeV/c Au + Au collisions. The data were analyzed using three-dimensional correlation parameterizations to study transverse momentum-dependent source parameters. The freeze-out time and the duration of emission were derived from the source radii parameters.

Book Pion Interferometry in Au Au and Cu Cu Collisions at Sqrt SNN

Download or read book Pion Interferometry in Au Au and Cu Cu Collisions at Sqrt SNN written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present a systematic analysis of two-pion interferometry in Au+Au collisions at (square root)sNN = 62.4 GeV and Cu+Cu collisions at (square root)sNN = 62.4 and 200 GeV using the STAR detector at RHIC. The multiplicity and transverse momentum dependences of the extracted correlation lengths (radii) are studied. The scaling with charged particle multiplicity of the apparent system volume at final interaction is studied for the RHIC energy domain. The multiplicity scaling of the measured correlation radii is found to be independent of colliding system and collision energy.

Book Pion Interferometry in AuAu Collisions at a Center of Mass Energy Per Nucleon of 200 GeV

Download or read book Pion Interferometry in AuAu Collisions at a Center of Mass Energy Per Nucleon of 200 GeV written by Mercedes López Noriega and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Quantum Chromodynamics predicts a phase transition from a state formed by hadrons to a plasma of deconfined quarks and gluons, the Quark Gluon Plasma, as a the energy density exceeds a critical value. This deconfined phase is believed to be the one in which the early universe existed in a time-scale [approx.] 10−5 s after the Big Bang. Ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Collisions, like the ones that take place at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory, reach energy densities above the critical value creating a deconfined phase of quarks and gluons that can be studied at the laboratory. This gives us the opportunity to study a phase of matter in the deconfined region of QCD, the properties of the strong interaction, the formation of hadronic matter and the interaction between hadrons. In the analysis presented in this thesis, the dynamical evolution of the particle emitting source and its space-time structure at freeze-out is studied using the two particle intensity interferometry technique. The expansion of the source is also studied. We find indications that this expansion may be caused by the initial pressure gradient generated in the initial stages of the collision through particle rescattering in a very dense medium.

Book Beam energy dependent Two pion Interferometry and the Freeze out Eccentricity of Pions Measured in Heavy Ion Collisions at the STAR Detector

Download or read book Beam energy dependent Two pion Interferometry and the Freeze out Eccentricity of Pions Measured in Heavy Ion Collisions at the STAR Detector written by and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this study, we present results of analyses of two-pion interferometry in Au+Au collisions at √sNN = 7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4, and 200 GeV measured in the STAR detector as part of the RHIC Beam Energy Scan program. The extracted correlation lengths (HBT radii) are studied as a function of beam energy, azimuthal angle relative to the reaction plane, centrality, and transverse mass (mT) of the particles. The azimuthal analysis allows extraction of the eccentricity of the entire fireball at kinetic freeze-out. The energy dependence of this observable is expected to be sensitive to changes in the equation of state. A new global fit method is studied as an alternate method to directly measure the parameters in the azimuthal analysis. The eccentricity shows a monotonic decrease with beam energy that is qualitatively consistent with the trend from all model predictions and quantitatively consistent with a hadronic transport model.

Book Kaon and Pion Interferometry Final Report

Download or read book Kaon and Pion Interferometry Final Report written by and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both NA44 and EOS continue to publish high quality data on relativistic heavy ion collisions. The next leap in energy will be provided by BRAHMS at RHIC. Experiment NA44 has measured particle correlations of [pi]{sup {+-}}, K and protons and single particle distributions of [pi]{sup {+-}}, K{sup {+-}}, p, {anti p}, d and {anti d} for pA, SA and PbPb collisions at 450GeV/c, 200A·GeV and 158A·GeV for the p, S and Pb beams respectively. When the spectra are fitted to an exponential in m{sub T}, the inverse slopes increase as the system gets heavier and with increasing particle mass. For larger systems the baryon density at mid-rapidity increases implying more secondary collisions. These fuel a collective expansion and a boost in transverse momentum proportional to the mass as seen in the data. The EOS collaboration has continued to publish results from their large data set of heavy ion collisions at the BEVALAC. They plan to study the energy dependence of coalescence and flow by comparing results from NA44 and EOS.

Book Pion Interferometry of Ultra relativistic Hadronic Collisions

Download or read book Pion Interferometry of Ultra relativistic Hadronic Collisions written by and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pion interferometry of ultra-relativistic hadronic collisions is described in the context of the inside-outside cascade model using a current ensemble method capable of describing an arbitrary distribution of pion sources with an arbitrary velocity distribution. The results are quite distinct from the usual Gaussian and Kopylov parameterizations. Extraction of the temperature parameter, effective source lifetime, and transverse size requires a full three-dimensional analysis of the correlation function in terms of the momentum difference. 7 refs., 4 figs.

Book Corinne 90 International Workshop On Particle Correlations And Interferometry In Nuclear Collisions

Download or read book Corinne 90 International Workshop On Particle Correlations And Interferometry In Nuclear Collisions written by Daniel Ardouin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1990-11-02 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Dr Mak views the financial market from a scientific perspective. The book attempts to provide a realistic description of what the market is, and how future research should be developed. The market is a complex phenomenon, and can be forecasted only with errors — if that particular market can be forecasted at all.The book reviews the scientific literatures on the financial market and describes mathematical procedures which demonstrate that some markets are non-random. How the markets are modeled — phenomenologically and from first principle — is explained. It discusses indicators, which are quite objective, rather than price patterns, which are rather subjective. Similarities between indicators in market trading and operators in mathematics are noted, and particularly, between oscillator indicators and derivatives in Calculus. It illustrates why some indicators, e.g., Stochastics, have limited usage. Several new indicators are designed and tested on theoretical waveforms to check their validity and applicability. The indicators have a minimal time lag, which is significant for trading purposes. Common market behaviors like divergences between price and momentum are explained. A skipped convolution technique is introduced to allow traders to pick up market movements at an earlier time. The market is treated as a nonlinear phenomenon. Forecasting of when the market is going to turn is emphasized.
