Book Photovoltaics Information User Study

Download or read book Photovoltaics Information User Study written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The results of a series of telephone interviews with groups of users of information on photovoltaics (PV) are described. These results, part of a larger study on many different solar technologies, identify types of information each group needed and the best ways to get information to each group. The report is 1 of 10 discussing study results. The overall study provides baseline data about information needs in the solar community. It covers these technological areas: photovoltaics, passive solar heating and cooling, active solar heating and cooling, biomass energy, solar thermal electric power, solar industrial and agricultural process heat, wind energy, ocean energy, and advanced energy storage. An earlier study identified the information user groups in the solar community and the priority (to accelerate solar energy commercialization) of getting information to each group. In the current study only high-priority groups were examined. Results from seven PV groups respondents are analyzed in this report: DOE-Funded Researchers, Non-DOE-Funded Researchers, Researchers Working for Manufacturers, Representatives of Other Manufacturers, Representatives of Utilities, Electric Power Engineers, and Educators.

Book Practical Handbook of Photovoltaics

Download or read book Practical Handbook of Photovoltaics written by Augustin McEvoy and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 1269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook opens with an overview of solar radiation and how its energy can be tapped using photovoltaic cells. Other chapters cover the technology, manufacture and application of PV cells in real situations. The book ends by exploring the economic and business aspects of PV systems.

Book Photovoltaic Utility customer Interface Study

Download or read book Photovoltaic Utility customer Interface Study written by V.F. Wilraker and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report addresses the technical, economic, and legal and regulatory issues of interconnecting small, privately-owned, on-site photovoltaic generating systems to an electric utility. Baseline residential, commercial and industrial class photovoltaic systems were developed. The technical, economic, and legal and regulatory aspects of interconnecting these classes of baseline systems to an electric utility were evaluated.

Book Solar Thermal Electric Power Information User Study

Download or read book Solar Thermal Electric Power Information User Study written by William W. Belew and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report describes the results of a series of telephone interviews with groups of users of information on solar thermal electric power. These results, part of a larger study on many different solar technologies, identify types of information each group needed and the best ways to get information to each group. The report is one of ten discussing study results. Results from five solar thermal electric power groups of respondents are analyzed in this report: DOE-funded researchers, non-DOE-funded researchers, representatives of utilities, electric power engineers, and educators.

Book Solar Energy Research Institute for India and the United States SERIIUS

Download or read book Solar Energy Research Institute for India and the United States SERIIUS written by David Ginley and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-02-26 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the development, functioning, and results of a successful binational program to promote significant scientific advances in Earth-abundant photovoltaics (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP), advanced process/manufacturing technologies, multiscale modeling and reliability testing, and analysis of integrated solar energy systems. SERIIUS is a consortium between India and the United States dedicated to developing new solar technologies and assessing their potential impact in the two countries. The consortium consists of nearly 50 institutions including academia, national laboratories, and industry, with the goal of developing significant new technologies in all areas of solar deployment. In addition, the program focused on workforce development through graduate students, post-doctoral students, and an international exchange program. Particular emphasis was placed on the following efforts: Creating disruptive technologies in PV and CSP through high-impact fundamental and applied research and development (R&D). Identifying and quantifying the critical technical, economic, and policy issues for solar energy development and deployment in India. Overcoming barriers to technology transfer by teaming research institutions and industry in an effective project structure. Building a new platform for binational collaboration using a formalized R&D project structure, along with effective management, coordination, and decision processes. Creating a sustainable network and workforce development program from which to build large collaborations and fostering a collaborative culture and outreach programs. This includes using existing and new methodologies for collaboration based on advanced electronic and web-based communication to facilitate functional international teams. The book summarizes the general lessons learned from these experiences.
