Book POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY FOR GOVERNMENTS PEOPLE

Download or read book POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY FOR GOVERNMENTS PEOPLE written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-06-21 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book includes simple definitions of philosophical concepts of great thinkers from around the world. Currently, the latest views of politics and the philosophical aspects of these are not helping any peaceful solutions; with the world powers striving for attention to their megalomaniac ambitions. The remarks that walls must be built to keep immigrants out, trade embargos and leaders of being weak are all negative. 'Fools build walls, wise men build bridges' makes sense and ought to encourage people to read more about political philosophy. This isolationistic attitude can be clearly defined by the psychotherapeutic branch of philosophy. In old age people regress to the earliest stages of their development. Thus Presidents, Prime Ministers and Leaders of Governments bear the same syndromes of regressive behaviour. In feeling omni-powerful the bigger nations take advantage of disagreements and conflicts; when they consider it appropriate to invade and cause havoc among the minorities.

Book Economics World House Rules

Download or read book Economics World House Rules written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-03-08 with total page 571 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the mid-16th century to the beginning first quarter of the 21st century, economic thought can be split into five main historical schools: mercantilism; the economics of the French physiocrats; classical economics; Keynesianism; and monetarism. The schools do not necessarily encompass the views of all economists. The mercantilists, between the mid-16th and mid-18th centuries, argued that the wealth of nations depended on their balance of trade. Proponents of the theory were concerned to maximize the amount of precious metals in the country. Protectionism was encouraged. Economic forecasting and growth are variables, either macro-economic (for country/ies) or micro-economic (for product/market), which deals with the increase in the productive capacity of an economy.

Book excerpt: Interactive systems respond to instructions from users fast enough to allow transactions to be completed almost immediately. While the precise structure of the future interactive systems is not yet clear, many directions of growth seem apparent. The current designs and organisation of databases obviate the need to duplicate information in order to meet the various requirements of different groups of users, thus ensuring that the data always remain consistent. Additionally, the use of relational databases enable the Internet users a number of essential services; including data transfer, electronic mail and the ability to access information in remote databases. Integrated systems, therefore, are connected services making it possible for users to communicate with each other anywhere on the network. The safe running of systems needs to keep information protected from harm, theft, vandalism, fraud and invasion of privacy, which means continuous security development of software and hardware devices.

Book TECHNOLOGICAL INTEGRATIONS

Download or read book TECHNOLOGICAL INTEGRATIONS written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The application of technology and its integrations includes the scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life or to the change and manipulation of the human environment. Circa 3000 years BC many new technologies were developed; irrigation systems, road networks and wheeled vehicles, a pictographic form of writing and new building techniques. The new ideas and techniques engendered official persecution, but by the mid-17th century the tide of opinion had changed. By the late 17th century, technology essentially meant engineering. During the 19th century science began to create new technologies. This continued into the 20th century with the introduction of computing, Internet, Artificial Intelligence and other services made possible only because of further advances in science. In recent years Western aid has sought to develop appropriate technologies, using local materials and techniques, in partnership with the indigenous peoples.

Download or read book Philosophy of Mind written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-08-16 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The philosophy of the mind deals with the examination of problems revolving around the concept of the mind. The mental may be distinguished from the physical in various ways: intentionality and consciousness provide important features of mental states. An important part of the argument is the claim that mental states are known in a special way: they are directly given, transparent to their owner and known infallibly. Monist and materialist believe that reality is physical and explained by natural science; sought in various ways to understand the mind in material terms. Behaviourism advocates that psychology should concern itself exclusively with observation of behaviour, disregarding introspection altogether. Others propose that mental states are the same as states of the brain. Dissatisfaction with these overly simple attempts to incorporate the mental into the physical realm led to the development of functionalism.

Book excerpt: CELEBRATING SIXTY YEARS OF COMPOSING POETRY It was sixty years ago when I wrote my first four lines of a poem in English. This was called The Fireplace. I was thirteen years of age and a second year student of The English School in my hometown Morphou, Cyprus. The composition of poetry is an art where words construct sentences, verses using metaphors and symbols, which in turn are based on imagination, facts, and life experiences. A poem does not have to rhyme and yet it can be a stanza, a canto to a loved one, an ode to a hero, a sarcastic remark to emphasise the importance of a point made, an elegy composed to explain feelings arranged as a work of art. What prose can explain in three hundred pages, a poem (as a masterpiece) can express in one single page; with more meaning, using larger-than-life pictures describing timeless classic scenes, memorable events and bringing immortality to life itself.

Conflict between groups is often within one state, based upon different religion, race, language, culture, history and ethnicity. Chaos may be caused due to scarce resources or in forms of oppression and prejudice, racism, segregation, and discrimination; culminating in civil war. Language differences reinforced by religious beliefs have often been a focus of political tension. Ethnic conflict is widespread in former colonies, where borders were drawn with no regard for the cultural differences. Book Sociology Concepts of Group Behaviour

Download or read book Sociology Concepts of Group Behaviour written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-08-09 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sociology as a social science refers to the systematic study of the development, structure, and functioning of society. In the last two centuries sociologists analysed many facets of their own societies, in the more general context of observing the causes and consequences of the transition from traditional pre-industrial life to modern societies. The fundamental postulate of sociology is that human beings act not by their own free decisions taken rationally, but under the influence of history and culture, and the expectations and demands of others: human beings are both the products and the makers of their societies. During the 20th century, sociologists have been particularly interested in the influence of role, status, class, and power on experience and behaviour, in the family and in the community; in the factors which contribute to cohesion and conflict; in social structure and social stratification; and in social problems such as crime, drug addiction, and domestic violence.

Book Philosophy for Human Behaviour

Download or read book Philosophy for Human Behaviour written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-10-15 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In reading through this book, the reader will find that through the centuries, philosophy as a subject contributed more than any other subject in the shaping of our lives, how we exist, behave and how we control our destiny. The content of this book will still be of importance to the reader and without any compromising, a training tool for the philosopher, psychologist. sociologist and behaviourist. There is no doubt that this subject is deep and vast. Backed by recent social events and political debating, philosophy in its plentiful branches can only be helpful in preparing people to obtain an acceptable style of living and a harmonious mode of interacting with society. Although this concept centres around the universal reason behind social events, the basic idea of reason behind human events works through the ideas held by an individual, until they are challenged by ideas which replace them and are challenged usually by conflict. So conflict (war), reasoned Hegel, is an instrument of progress.
