Book excerpt: The great universal Muslim scientists, about thousand years ago, were at the forefront of knowledge, particularly in the sciences and technology without ever giving up their religion. In fact Islam in general and the Qur'an in particular inspired the Muslim scientists to seek and advance knowledge and paved the way for modern science. By moving away from the in depth study of the Qur'an Muslims have lost the golden opportunity of many a scientific discovery and advancement of knowledge. Science is not a divine revelation but it provides a means for the welfare of man and to better understanding the creation of Allah (SWT), the natural phenomena and their purpose. Islam exhorts its followers to relentlessly pursue knowledge. One-third of the Qur'an exhorts its readers to think and reflect upon the natural phenomena.

Book The Glorious Quran and Science

Download or read book The Glorious Quran and Science written by Faisal Ahmad Qureshi and published by . This book was released on 2021-05-06 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Verses of the Quran are called "Ayats". Quranic "Ayats" are proofs, miracles, and signs of Allah (swt) (The God). In the Quran, not only are the verses Ayats, but Allah says phenomenon in Nature, Earth and the Universe, fundamentally all things in His Creation, are also Ayats. Also, in the Quran, Allah (swt) says to reflect on the Ayats in both the Quranic verses as well as on Creation in order to believe in Him and His Messenger and follow the Divine Laws. The Quran itself has attributes of many things. Some of them are mentioned as "The Book of Enlightenment", "Criterion", "Light", "Reminder", "Admonishment", "Clear Evidence", "Wise", "Invincible", "Word of the Honorable Messenger" (Gabriel (as)), "Guidance", "Book of Revelation", "Recitation". Since in the Quran it refers to natural phenomena in the Heavens and Earth as Ayats as well, and upon reflecting on them, we can see connections and descriptions of scientific facts and theories that exist therein. These in themselves are miraculous given the scientific knowledge known at the time and place of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), The Chosen One, when receiving Revelation. In this book, we can speculate the scientific reality of certain Ayats of the Quran. This includes scientific fields of physics, astrophysics, biology, quantum mechanics, mathematics, and in some cases, string theory. As a Muslim, the Quran is the source of truth for the reality of all things. We will see how certain Ayats match current scientific knowledge, both factual and theoretical, but also in some cases, where there are differences from the theoretical side of science. But in these cases, as we have multiple theories of science, where we hold some to be more possible actualities than others, the Quranic Ayats still adhere to one of them that we consider to be a possibility. Theories are in themselves, speculations. English Translation of Quran done by Talal Itani

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, I have tried to convince people that the Quran is the most authentic testimony of God or nature or, in the language of Albert Einstein, the testimony from the superior reasoning power. And in this regard, I have proven that the revelations in the Quran contain deep scientific insights as each verse includes all minute scientific details that were later uncovered by scientists. I have elaborated that if scientific knowledge is contradictory to the views of the Quran, its not at all because of faulty and premature declarations in the Quran. Rather, the opposite may be true as science is dependent on tools and techniques designed by humans frail and feeble minds, and many of the scientific advices and recommendations that were once valid are now obsolete as you can see in drugs of pharmacological origin, the utilization of cosmetics that were once recommended and now declared as harmful, and lots of other examples. In accomplishing this task, I have supported my views on the basis of my own observations of natural phenomena, deep studies on the subjects, and the products of meticulous thinking. My book can benefit people in two ways. First, it can consolidate the faith of those who believe in the Quran and God. Second, it can convince nonbelievers to consider the Quran as a scientifically reasonable book revealed onto the heart of the prophet solely and exclusively by the supreme authority who claims responsibility of governance of all the phenomena on earth and the heavens. Another interesting area in this book deals with the physical health benefits embedded in the rituals and practices of Islam, told in a convincing tone so that it can draw our attention toward the practical aspects of religion. This you can see in chapters on breastfeeding, the use of honey as a medicine, and in the chapter Recommendations of Islamic Sharia: Health Benefits.

Book Revelation Rationality Knowledge Truth

Download or read book Revelation Rationality Knowledge Truth written by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad and published by Islam International Publications Ltd. This book was released on 1998-06-30 with total page 787 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Any divide between revelation and rationality, religion and logic has to be irrational. If religion and rationality cannot proceed hand in hand, there has to be something deeply wrong with either of the two. Does revelation play any vital role in human affairs? Is not rationality sufficient to guide man in all the problems which confront him? Numerous questions such as these are examined with minute attention. All major issues which intrigue the modern mind are attempted to be incorporated in this fascinatingly comprehensive statute. Whatever the intellectual or educational background of the reader, this book is bound to offer him something of his interest. It examines a very diverse and wide range of subjects including the concept of revelation in different religions, history of philosophy, cosmology, extraterrestrial life, the future of life on earth, natural selection and its role in evolution. It also elaborately discusses the advent of the Messiah, or other universal reformers, awaited by different religions. Likewise, many other topical issues which have been agitating the human mind since time immemorial are also incorporated. The main emphasis is on the ability of the Quran to correctly discuss all important events of the past, present and future from the beginning of the universe to its ultimate end. Aided by strong incontrovertible logic and scientific evidence, the Quran does not shy away from presenting itself to the merciless scrutiny of rationality. It will be hard to find a reader whose queries are not satisfactorily answered. We hope that most readers will testify that this will always stand out as a book among books – perhaps the greatest literary achievement of this century.

Book Human Self

    Book Details:
  • Author : Athar Saeed Naqvi, PhD
  • Publisher : Balboa Press
  • Release : 2018-02-20
  • ISBN : 1504395611
  • Pages : 344 pages

Download or read book Human Self written by Athar Saeed Naqvi, PhD and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2018-02-20 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlike most theories of the human self that are generally based on conjecture, this book describes a new scientific theory of the human self and its states of consciousness. This theory is formulated using the revealed knowledge found in the Holy Scriptures along with the principles of physics. In a quest for the ultimate truth, the book attempts to understand the relationship between man and his Creator. Dr. Naqvi describes the universal principle of complementarity of creation that shows that the world of matter is not mutually exclusive to the spirit world, but both are complementary to each other. The three major holy scriptures of monotheistic faith describe the human spirit as a breath from the spirit of God. It is termed divine spark in man. The book explains that the divine spark is a seed of divine attributes of truth, goodness, compassion, and justice. A major outcome of this notion is that all humans are equal members of the family of God, irrespective of race, color, or creed and deserving mutual respect and compassion. Questions are answered about the origin of human spirit, purpose of human creation, spirit-matter interaction, and the basis of ethics. Findings of prominent neurosurgeons show that the spirit (soul) is an autonomous entity that can exist without a physical vehicle, which takes the inquisitive reader into a mind-blowing conclusion. This book is a response to the growing need among academics and thinking masses for scientific explanations of spirituality, psychology, philosophy, mysticism, religion, and paranormal phenomena. Over the past twenty-five years, the author has presented the theory in various universities in psychology and theology departments globally. This book may serve as course material for university-level psychology, philosophy, and theology departments. In brief, the unique theory presented in this book can be described as the science of spirituality.
