Book Phase Locked and Frequency Feedback Systems

Download or read book Phase Locked and Frequency Feedback Systems written by Jacob Klapper and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Phase-Locked and Frequency-Feedback Systems: Principles and Techniques presents the operating principles and methods of design of phase-locked and frequency-feedback systems. This book is divided into 10 chapters that provide step-by-step design procedures and graphical aids, with illustrations bearing on real problems experienced in these systems. This work specifically tackles the application of these systems as FM demodulators with lowered thresholds. Chapters 1 and 2 deal briefly with the elements of linear systems, feedback theory, and noise, providing the minimum background for the material presented in the remainder of the text. Chapter 3 describes the characteristics of the major components that comprise the loops and the performance of the conventional and multi-loop FM demodulators. Chapters 4 to 7 present the basic describing equations and design for the FM feedback (FMFB) and phase-locked loop (PLL). These chapters further illustrate step-by-step design procedures with performance characteristics for low-threshold angle demodulation using typical design examples. Chapter 8 highlights the design principles, which are extended to the design of advanced demodulators featuring demodulation thresholds lower than those of the simple PLL or FMFB. Chapter 9 focuses on digital FM demodulation and PLL applications other than FM demodulation. Lastly, Chapter 10 presents the methods of testing and evaluating loop performance. Undergraduate and graduate level students, as well as practicing engineers, will find this book invaluable.

Book PHASE LOCK DEMODULATION OF SINUSOIDAL FM

Download or read book PHASE LOCK DEMODULATION OF SINUSOIDAL FM written by F. F. YATES and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Phase-Lock demodulation of an FM signal, where the modulating function is a sinusoid, is treated as a problem in tracking a sweeping carrier. An expression is obtained for the maximum output signal to noise ratio versus the input signal to noise density ratio in an information bandwidth under conditions of a solid loop lock. A similiar expression is derived for threshold conditions. (Author).

Book Phaselock Tecniques second Edition

Download or read book Phaselock Tecniques second Edition written by Floyd M. Gardner and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1979-05-10 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second edition of Phaselock Techniques is -- as was the first -- the standard reference on the subject. Greatly expanded and largely rewritten to reflect a better understanding of the subject, the book presents much new material, some published here for the first time. Explanation of fundamentals is improved and expanded, and description of applications is greatly increased. The first portion of the book is a well-organized review of the fundamentals of phaselock, as well as a discussion of the underlying problems faced by designers. Most of this mateiral has been rewritten from the first edition. The material that follows deals with practical aspects of component circuits and with rational procedures for deciding upon phaselock loop parameters. The remaining chapters provide engineering descriptions and analyses of applications of phaselock. Most of this material is unique.Included are discussions of phaselocked modulators and demodulators, sythesizers, receivers, transponders, oscillator stabilizers, and data synchronizers.

Book excerpt: This book explains concepts behind fractional subsampling-based frequency synthesis that is re-shaping today’s art in the field of low-noise LO generation. It covers advanced material, giving clear guidance for development of background-calibrated environments capable of spur-free synthesis and wideband phase modulation. It further expands the concepts into the field of subsampling polar transmission, where the newly developed architecture enables unprecedented spectral efficiency levels, unquestionably required by the upcoming generation of wireless standards.

Book Phase Lock Basics

Download or read book Phase Lock Basics written by William F. Egan and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1998-08-04 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A versatile and immensely useful introduction to phase-locked loops. Phase-Lock Basics is a broad-based, hands-on text, designed to be both easy to understand and easy to customize. The text can be used as a theoretical introduction for graduate students or, when used with MATLAB simulation software, the book becomes a virtual laboratory for working professionals who want to improve their understanding of the design process and apply it to the demands of specific situations. The description of second-order phase-locked loops is very thorough, covering all practical variations with formulas, graphs, worked examples, problem sets, and MATLAB simulation exercises, and forming a basis that is extended into an understanding of more complex loops. Other features include: Introduction to loop components, stability, responses, and performance in the presence of noise MATLAB simulation software and other design aids written explicitly to correspond with the text Access to an Internet site that corresponds with the text so that curves can be downloaded, duplicated, or modified Scores of multicurve figures that illustrate various loop responses Summary of acquisition formulas for second-order loops A four-page table of CW, AM, and FM signals in multiple representations. Phase-Lock Basics is an important reference for professional analog and digital circuit designers. It also provides a complete and satisfying learning experience for graduate electrical engineering students. **NB: Please note the correct number for Wiley technical support for the FTP site is 317-572-3994. Book PLL FM Demodulator with Synchronous Filter

Download or read book PLL FM Demodulator with Synchronous Filter written by Shaohui Huang and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Phase locked demodulators are widely used for reception of amplitude modulation(AM), phase modulation(PM), and frequency modulation(FM). In this research, we concentrated on phase locked FM demodulators. Our main two parts are the PLL block and the Optimum Time Varying Filter block. We started our work by building up three basic blocks of the PLL; the PFD, the Loop Filter and the VCO. By carefully studying the structure and the operation of these blocks, we were able to make good choices regarding the types of each block and their parameters. As a result, we got the desired results in our PLL simulations. After that, in order to improve the quality of the FM signal, we worked on the Optimum Time Varying Filter which is the main research part in the overall thesis. We studied the relationship of the optimum filter (or matched filter), the optimum time-varying filter and our band pass filter. We then derived the necessary equations to realize our synchronous filter. Based on the theory and equation discussion, we were able to design the band pass filter. After we put all of the blocks together to realize our FM PLL demodulator, we simulated the whole demodulator and recovered the FM demodulated signal which showed that we had achieved our research goal-namely, to improve the quality of the PLL FM Demodulator.
