This book was released on 2011 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Black Mountain porphyry Cu-Au deposit is located in the central-western portion of the Baguio mineral district, Philippines, approximately six kilometers southwest of Baguio City in the Upper Bued River. It consists of two orebodies hosted within the Black Mountain Intrusive Complex (BMIC). The 'Main' or 'Kennon' orebody occurs at the northwest end of the elongate intrusive complex. Main was block caved from 1969 1983 and had a preproduction reserve of 47 Mt at 0.38% Cu and 0.35 g/t Au + 0.01% Mo. The Southeast orebody was block caved from 1977 - 1983 from surface at 790 meters to a subsurface elevation of 560 meters and had a preproduction reserve of 15 Mt ∼0.37% Cu + 0.26 g/t Au. The Southeast orebody has a surface expression that is approximately 150 meters wide and 600 meters long, trending northwest ...

Book Potassic Igneous Rocks and Associated Gold Copper Mineralization

Download or read book Potassic Igneous Rocks and Associated Gold Copper Mineralization written by Daniel Müller and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, there has been increasing interest from geoscientists in potassic ig neous rocks. Academic geoscientists have been interested in their petrogenesis and their potential value in defining the tectonic setting of the terranes into which they were intruded, and exploration geoscientists have become increasingly interested in the association of these rocks with major epithermal gold and porphyry gold-copper deposits. Despite this current interest, there is no comprehensive textbook that deals with these aspects of potassic igneous rocks. This book redresses this situation by elucidating the characteristic features of potassic (high-K) igneous rocks, erecting a hierarchical scheme that allows interpre tation of their tectonic setting using whole-rock geochemistry, and investigating their associations with a variety of gold and copper-gold deposits, worldwide. About two thirds of the book is based on a PhD thesis by Dr Daniel Muller which was produced at the Key Centre for Strategic Mineral Deposits within the Department of Geology and Geophysics at The University of Western Australia under the supervision of Professor David Groves, the late Dr Nick Rock, Professor Eugen Stumpf!, Dr Wayne Taylor, and Dr Brendon Griffin. The remainder of the book has been compiled from the literature using the collective experience of the two authors. The book is dedi cated to the memory of Dr Rock who initiated the research project but died before its completion.

Book Geology Petrochemistry and Ore Content of Carbonaceous Deposits of the Kumak Ore Field

Download or read book Geology Petrochemistry and Ore Content of Carbonaceous Deposits of the Kumak Ore Field written by Alexandra V. Panteleeva and published by Springer. This book was released on 2024-08-14 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main prospects for expanding the mineral resource base of gold are associated with the discovery of typical ore objects within the distribution of productive black shale strata in the Orenburg part of the Southern Urals. The solution of this problem is significantly associated with the discovery, evaluation and involvement in the industrial development of gold deposits lying in the black shale strata. Their practical significance, based on existing concepts, can be considered in several aspects: first of all, it is a possible source of metals, and secondly, they are a reducing geochemical barrier for the deposition of ore matter of deep fluids. The formations of the black shale formation are a favorable geochemical environment for the primary concentration of gold, platinum group elements, tungsten, molybdenum and other metals. Areas of manifestation of tectonic activity, zonal and contact metamorphism, and the dyke complex are of great importance. Moreover, carbonaceous deposits are a very informative material for the reconstruction of paleogeographic and physico-chemical conditions of their accumulation. In this regard, the ore-containing black shales of the Kumak deposit, whose rocks have a specialization in gold, seem to be a very attractive object for a comprehensive study of ore content. They may be of great practical importance for the search for new deposits in the Southern Urals and in other regions with a similar geological structure.

Book Orogenic Andesites and Plate Tectonics

Download or read book Orogenic Andesites and Plate Tectonics written by J. B. Gill and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Students of a phenomenon as common but complex as andesite genesis often are overwhelmed by, or overlook, the volume and diversity of relevant information. Thus there is need for periodic overview even in the absence of a dramatic breakthrough which "solves the andesite problem" and even though new ideas and data keep the issues in a state of flux. Thus I have summarized the subject through mid·1980 from my perspective to help clarify the long-standing problem and to identify profitable areas for future research. Overviews are more easily justified than achieved and there are fundamental differences of opinion concerning how to go about them. It is professionally dangerous and therefore uncom mon for single authors, especially those under 35 such as I, to summarize a broad, active field of science in book-length thor oughness. Review articles in journals, multi-authored books, or symposia proceedings appear instead. The single-authored approach is intimidating in scale and can result in loss of thoroughness or authority on individual topics. The alternatives lack scope or integration or both.
