Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The stories in Perversions of Horror present a range of ghastly deviances: quirky, sexy, graphic, homoerotic, disturbing, laugh-your-ass-off funny, and sometimes purely disgusting to any decent minded human. "The Fire Dance of Yog-Sothoth" and the even more repulsive "In Deep Dendo" turn Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos universe into a homosexual thralldom. In "The Book of Unbottomed Bliss" and "Punchkin's Realm," the characters have a hot and hellish time with bizarre sex toys in the deliriously deviant Kingdom of the Damned. "Lord Byleth's Throne" shows the consequences of bargaining your ass with the devil, while "The Devil's Demand" proves that exchanging presents with the devil might bring gifts that the giver never expected. "House of Endless Yearning" and "The Fapping Ghosts" prove that masturbating in a haunted room will have ghostly implications-soon you will join them! In "The Spell" a woman consorts with demons to turn straight men gay, while another demon in "Popo Bawa" demands publicity of the men he penetrates. Gay vampires spin across Haiti in "Bicycle Baka," and it is a charming gay incubus "Who Rides So Late Through Night and Wind" and brings addictive bliss to college boys. Three other college boys fall into a demonic trap in "The Summoning," while heterosexual behaviors are ridiculed and punished in "Found Scribbled on a Roll of Toilet Paper." Meanwhile, an elderly gay man comes to terms with death and eternity in "Cat's Dream."

Book Political Perversion

Download or read book Political Perversion written by Joshua Gunn and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "When Trump became president, much of the country was repelled by what they saw as the vulgar spectacle of his ascent, the perversion of the highest office in the land. In his bold, groundbreaking book Political Perversion, rhetorician Joshua Gunn argues that this "mean-spirited turn" in American politics (of which Trump is the paragon) is best understood as a structural perversion enhanced primarily by the speed of communication technologies. Drawing on insights from critical theory, media ecology, and psychoanalysis, Gunn argues that perverse rhetorics dominate not only the political sphere but also our daily interactions with others, in person and online. From sexting to campaign rhetoric, Gunn shows how technology has changed our ways of relating (and not relating) to others and has engendered infantile and sadistic forms of provocation and enjoyment. In this book, Trump is only the tip of a sinister, rapidly growing iceberg, one to which we ourselves unwittingly contribute on a daily basis"--

Download or read book The Second Perversion written by Bradley Snow and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-03-04 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The genre of Horror is a decaying animal. Brick and Mortar Bookstores do not carry horror anymore. The Small Press are run like family businesses and no stirring the pot is allowed. They play it safe by publishing their friends and friends of friends. This leads to horribly boring alleged horror in the Small Presses. Amazon's Createspace is helping to change things. No longer does a potential reader have to settle for paying high prices for inferior work. THE SECOND PERVERSION crashes through the barriers of the boring and predictable Small Press and brings Horror back as a valid genre. Like Tears of Gold, THE SECOND PERVERSION will make you laugh, perhaps a tear or two will be shed, but most of all what the characters go through will surely chill you to the bone. THE SECOND PERVERSION will scare you. It may bring back some memories from your past. It will entertain you. Yes, you will find it disturbing. It will take you on a journey into the bowels of evil. The six innocents who get caught up in the war between good and evil are your normal every day High School students. Tom and Selma are twins who are friends with Al, Bruce, Jaime and Winona. Up until their last vacation together as High Schoolers they never looked at each other in a sexual manner. They are about to graduate and move on with the rest of their lives, probably separately. This is part coming of age story as they become aware that their feelings for each other may be more than friendship. What happens to them after they are captured is one of the most disturbing scenes in Horror. It is also a race against time story. Jeff (from Tears of Gold) has a plant in one of his Mutates. The Plant is there to get as much information as possible. Problem is Jeff has lost track of the Plant. Chris, who is a slowly evolving Mutate, is captured because it is impossible for him to keep his mouth closed. He talks himself into trouble all the time. Chris pissed off the wrong people. He is taken captive from the still secretive other side. Chris has another problem in that sex is constantly on his mind no matter what the situation. Needless to say this also gets Chris into a heap of trouble. Jeff catches a break. They do know roughly where Chris disappeared. Jessica is sent on what appears to be a suicide mission to get captured and find Chris. This will also lead Jeff and the Mutates to the compound they have been trying to locate for a long time. They keep track of Jessica. Jessica joins the party people which includes Tom and Selma. She gets captured along with the rest and are brought to the secret compound. The compound is a place of experiments and nightmare. It stinks of pure evil. Chris finds out what the face of evil looks like. Tom and Selma fall into the soulless pit. THE SECOND PERVERSION is part coming of age, part love story, part Fantasy, and it is ALL Horror.

Book Nostalgia or Perversion Gothic Rewriting from the Eighteenth Century until the Present Day

Download or read book Nostalgia or Perversion Gothic Rewriting from the Eighteenth Century until the Present Day written by Isabella van Elferen and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2009-03-26 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nostalgia or Perversion? Gothic Rewriting from the Eighteenth Century until the Present Day presents an interdisciplinary approach to an important aspect of Gothic texts, films, and music: that of rewriting. From the eighteenth-century Gothic novel to present-day vampire films and Goth music, the genre is characterised by its nostalgic reflection on past worlds, narratives, and identities. Gothic nostalgia is often accompanied by a transgressive drive, resulting in perversions of the rewritten past—the modern vampire is no longer embodied evil but an attractive dandy, while Goth subcultures reflect on Victorian aesthetics but pervert them by adding fetishist elements. Gothic nostalgia transforms the past, turning it upside down, foregrounding its background, and corrupting its order. In this volume an international group of philosophy, literature, film, and music scholars investigates the instrumental role of nostalgia and perversion in the Gothic’s rewriting of the past. If elements of both nostalgia and perversion are operative in Gothic rewriting, how are they connected? How do they play out in differing media? How do they change audiences’ views on the relationships between binaries such as past and present, other and self, and norm and deviation? Nostalgia or Perversion brings together the early Gothic novel, present-day female and black Gothic literature, Goth subculture and music, and the imagery of horror films and comic books, thus broadening the definition of ‘Gothic’ from a literary genre to a gesture of pervasive cultural criticism. The interdisciplinary analysis of nostalgia and perversion in Gothic rewriting uncovers wholly new insights into the artistic and social functions of the Gothic, making the volume useful to both scholars and students. As the essays reflect on academic as well as popular texts and media, it is also accessible to general readers. "Nostalgia or Perversion provides a sophisticated analysis of how the Gothic radically rewrites the past, not as nostalgia but as a calculated act of transgression. The past and how its reconstructions break down the boundaries between real and unreal, and normal and abnormal, is examined across a range of different media, including novels, films, comic books, television and music. The essays in this collection also address how this issue shapes Gothic formulations of race, sexuality, and gender. Both ambitious in scope and focused and rigorous in its analysis, this book provides a critically important re-evaluation of the Gothic tradition." —Andrew Smith, University of Glamorgan (UK).

Book The Telltale Hardon and Other Perversions

Download or read book The Telltale Hardon and Other Perversions written by Edgar Allan Pole and published by 8th Circle Press. This book was released on with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Telltale Hardon and Other Perversions, Edgar Allan Pole digs up seven of Edgar Allan Poe’s best-loved stories and gives them a post-mortem makeover. In “The Telltale Hardon,” a college girl seduces her elderly landlord. Things go awry when his heart gives out and the co-ed must dispose of his body, only to be haunted by his ghostly erection. In “The Purple Death,” Pole reimagines “The Masque of the Red Death” as a post-apocalyptic orgy inside Prince’s fortified Paisley Park compound. And in “The Pit and the Pendulous Ballsack,” a condemned man is tortured in a terrifyingly perverse manner. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies jumpstarted the literary mash-up genre; Edgar Allan Pole’s twisted take on classic Poe short stories such as “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Fall of the House of Usher” will pound the final nail into the genre’s coffin.

Book Flowers of Perversion Volume 2

Download or read book Flowers of Perversion Volume 2 written by Stephen Thrower and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2019-03-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The disturbing, exciting, and defiantly avant-garde films of Jesús “Jess” Franco, director of such films as Vampyros Lesbos and Lilian the Perverted Virgin. Jesús “Jess” Franco is an iconic figure in world cinema. His sexually charged, fearlessly personal style of filmmaking has never been in vogue with mainstream critics, but for lovers of the strange and sado-erotic he is a magician, spinning his unique and disturbing dream worlds from the cheapest of budgets. In the world of Jess Franco freedom was the key, and he pushed at the boundaries of taste and censorship repeatedly, throughout an astonishingly varied career spanning sixty years. The director of more than 180 films, at his most prolific he worked in a supercharged frenzy that yielded as many as twelve titles per year, making him one of the most generative auteurs of all time. Franco's taste for the sexy and horrific, his lifelong obsession with the Marquis De Sade, and his roving hand-held camera style launched a whole new strain of erotic cinema. Disturbing, exciting, and defiantly avant-garde, films such as Necronomicon, Vampyros Lesbos, Virgin Among the Living Dead, and Venus in Furs are among the jewels of European horror, while a plethora of multiple versions, re-edits and echoes of earlier works turn the Franco experience into a dizzying hall of mirrors, further entrancing the viewer who dares enter Franco's domain. Stephen Thrower has devoted five years to examining each and every Franco film. This book—the second in a two-volume set—delves into the latter half of Franco's career, covering titles including Shining Sex, Barbed Wire Dolls, Swedish Nympho Slaves, and Lilian the Perverted Virgin. Assisted by the esteemed critic and researcher Julian Grainger, Thrower shines a light into the darkest corners of the Franco filmography and uncovers previously unknown and unsuspected facts about their casts, crews, and production histories. Unparalleled in scope and ambition, Flowers of Perversion brings Franco's career into focus with a landmark study that aims to provide the definitive assessment of Jess Franco's labyrinthine film universe.

Dubeau is a force to be reckoned with." —Jerry Smith, Fangoria Magazine and Blumhouse.com "This is the page-turner you've been looking for." —Barnes & Noble The village of Saint-Ferdinand has all the trappings of a quiet life: farmhouses stretching from one main street, a small police precinct, a few diners and cafés, and a grocery store. Though if an out-of-towner stopped in, they would notice one unusual thing—a cemetery far too large and much too full for such a small town, lined with the victims of the Saint-Ferdinand Killer, who has eluded police for nearly two decades. It’s not until after Inspector Stephen Crowley finally catches the killer that the town discovers even darker forces are at play. When a dark spirit reveals itself to Venus McKenzie, one of Saint-Ferdinand's teenage residents, she learns that this creature's power has a long history with her town—and that the serial murders merely scratch the surface of a past burdened by evil secrets.

Book Disabling Perversions

Download or read book Disabling Perversions written by Alan Corbett and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-04-24 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book offers an overview of how to work with some of the most damaged members of society - children and adults with intellectual disabilities who abuse others. Drawing on insight from two decades of clinical work, the author examines how to assess risk and danger in the forensic disability patient, ways of working therapeutically with patients at all ends of the disability spectrum, and how to support members of the patient's network. Combining psychoanalytic, creative, forensic and systemic thinking, the book provides a template for assessing, managing, containing and treating those who present with multiple diagnoses, including cognitive and physical disabilities, mutism, psychiatric disorders and autism. Both group and individual approaches are examined. As our awareness of the incidence of forensic patients who also have disabilities increases, this work is a timely placing of the forensic disability patient onto the clinical agenda, and has a wide application, being of use to clinicians in the private consulting room, the community, the secure setting and the prison.

Download or read book Our Dark Side written by Elisabeth Roudinesco and published by Polity. This book was released on 2009-11-02 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where does perversion begin? Who is perverse? Ever since the word first appeared in the Middle Ages, anyone who delights in evil and in the destruction of the self or others has been described as 'perverse'. But while the experience of perversion is universal, every era has seen it and dealt with it in its own way. The history of perversion in the West is told here through a study of great emblematic figures of the perverse - Gilles de Rais, the mystical saints and the flagellants in the middle ages, the Marquis de Sade in the eighteenth century, the masturbating child, the male homosexual and the hysterical woman nineteenth century, Nazism in the twentieth century, and the complementary figures of the paedophile and the terrorist in the twenty-first. The perverse are rarely talked about and when they are it is usually only to be condemned. They are commonly viewed as monstrous and cruel, as something alien to the very nature of being human. And yet, perversion can also attest to creativity and self-transcendence, to the refusal of individuals to submit to the rules and prohibitions that govern human life. Perversion fascinates us precisely because it can be both abject and sublime. Whether they are sublime because they turn to art or mysticism, or abject because they surrender to their murderous impulses, the perverse are part of us because they exhibit something that we always conceal: our own negativity and our dark side.
