Book excerpt: A pesar del incremento en los últimos años de diferentes estudios que muestran la importancia de incorporar la perspectiva de género en el campo de las drogodependencias, se observa que dicha incorporación se encuentra en una fase inicial y por tanto queda mucho camino por recorrer. La estrategia europea en materia de lucha contra las drogas (2021-2025) incluye entre sus líneas estratégicas una específica sobre la incorporación de la perspectiva de género. En el campo de las drogodependencias, al ir incorporando las diferentes necesidades de las personas que consumen, se ha puesto de manifiesto la necesidad de crear intervenciones específicas que cuenten con equipos profesionales con formación especializada en materia de género, feminismo, violencias e interseccionalidad. Esta obra ofrece una visión global de la situación de la inclusión de la perspectiva de género en el campo de las drogodependencias. Para ello, se ha detallado el marco jurídico-normativo y conceptos claves necesarios para comprender la importancia de esta inclusión, para posteriormente centrarse en la intervención preventiva y en el tratamiento de las drogodependencias con perspectiva de género, atendiendo a la diversidad de las personas que consumen drogas con un enfoque interseccional, finalizando con la exposición de tratamientos concretos y programas innovadores. En definitiva, trata de contribuir al estudio y análisis de las drogodependencias, rompiendo con un enfoque androcéntrico y aplicando la perspectiva de género. [Resumen del editor].

En conjunto, se han incluido los artículos académicos provenientes de la literatura internacional, textos monográficos realizados por organismos internacionales públicos y privados, así como los hallazgos extraídos de la revisión bibliográfica de fuentes científicas destacadas relacionadas con la cuestión objeto de estudio. Igualmente, se ha puesto especial interés en incorporar otros trabajos e investigaciones que utilizan una metodología cualitativa y rescatan los discursos de mujeres que son o han sido usuarias de drogas como fuente primaria de conocimiento, y que aun siendo más escasos, resultan muy enriquecedores. La segunda parte del manual está dedicada al desarrollo de una propuesta metodológica de intervención con mujeres desde perspectiva de género. Las dinámicas propuestas están en relación directa con lo expuesto en la primera parte del manual, y ofrecen un itinerario de intervención que puede realizarse tanto a nivel grupal como individual en caso de que sea necesario. Las dinámicas se nutren de textos, videos y fichas de trabajo que se mantendrán actualizados en la Web dedicada a este manual. Habrá un espacio de contacto, abierto a sugerencias y modificaciones.

Desde la perspectiva de género existe la necesidad de incorporar de manera efectiva las necesidades específicas de la mujer en todos los programas de prevención y atención. Y en lo referente a la equidad es necesario mejorar la accesibilidad a los servicios y a los tratamientos, y aumentar las buenas prácticas en el tema. La presente propuesta ofrece elementos técnico-prácticos para realizar un análisis de género e introducir la perspectiva de género en los proyectos de intervención para la prevención de las adicciones.

Nevertheless, the relation of gender and psychopathology remains a largely neglected field. Gender perspective has been treated as a paradigm in this book on psychopathology because it determines the way in which a psychiatric symptom is defined, perceived and understood. This conception of gender as being of key importance in the definition of psychiatric symptomatology is exceptional in the literature. The book opens by examining historical and cultural aspects of mental health in women worldwide and the relation of sex, brain and gender, with coverage of both neurobiological and psychosocial aspects. The significance of gender with regard to specific aspects of psychopathology is then addressed in detail. A wide range of psychological disorders are considered, as well as hormonal influences and issues concerning body image, self identity, sexuality and life instinct. It is hoped that this book will make a significant contribution in ensuring that gender perspective receives due attention within descriptive psychopathology.
