Book Performance of a New Time Truncated Control Chart for Weibull Distribution Under Uncertainty

Download or read book Performance of a New Time Truncated Control Chart for Weibull Distribution Under Uncertainty written by Ali Hussein Al-Marshadi and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To detect indeterminacy effect in the manufacturing process, attribute control chart using neutrosophic Weibull distribution is proposed in this paper. To make the attribute control chart more efficient for persistent shifts in the industrial process, an attribute control chart using Weibull distribution has been proposed recently. In this study, a neutrosophic Weibull distribution-based attribute control chart develop for efficient monitoring of the process. The indeterminacy effect was studied with the control chart’s performance using characteristics of run length. In addition, the proposed chart effectively detected shifts in uncertainty. The relative efficiency of the proposed structure is compared with the existing attribute control chart under the Weibull timetruncated life test. The relative analysis reveals that the proposed time-truncated control chart for Weibull distribution under uncertainty design performance more efficiently than the existing counterparts.

Book The Impact of Weibull Data and Autocorrelation on the Performance of the Shewhart and Exponential Weighted Moving Average Control Charts

Download or read book The Impact of Weibull Data and Autocorrelation on the Performance of the Shewhart and Exponential Weighted Moving Average Control Charts written by Gary Black and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many real-world processes generate autocorrelated and/or Weibull data. In such cases, the independence and/or normality assumptions underlying the Shewhart and EWMA control charts are not valid. This paper will examine and compare the performance of these two control charts when subjected to both autocorrelated and Weibull data. A variety of conditions will be investigated related to the magnitudes of the process shift, autocorrelation and Weibull shape parameter. It was found that the EWMA chart outperformed the Shewhart in 62% of the cases, particularly those cases with low to moderate autocorrelation values. The Shewhart chart outperformed the EWMA in 35% of the cases, particularly those cases with high autocorrelation and zero or high process shift. The remaining 3% of the cases were inconclusive.

Book Control Chart for Failure Censored Reliability Tests under Uncertainty Environment

Download or read book Control Chart for Failure Censored Reliability Tests under Uncertainty Environment written by Muhammad Aslam and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Existing control charts based on failure-censored (Type-II) reliability tests were designed using classical statistics. Classical statistics was applied for the monitoring of the process when observations in the sample or the population were determined. Neutrosophic statistics (NS) are applied when there is uncertainty in the sample or population. In this paper, a control chart for failure-censored (Type-II) reliability tests was designed using NS. The design of a control chart for the Weibull distribution, which is applied when there is a lack of symmetry using neutrosophic statistics, is given. The proposed control chart was used to monitor the neutrosophic mean and neutrosophic variance, which are related to the neutrosophic scale parameter. The advantages of the proposed control chart over the existing control chart are discussed.

Book Process Variability Control Procedures

Download or read book Process Variability Control Procedures written by Dr. Mrs. Shobha V. Rajmanya and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-09-14 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Globalization and technological advances have created very competitive environment in industries. As such, producers are keen to produce very high standard products and good efforts are put in to make further improvement in the quality. Statistical process control (SPC) is commonly used as a tool in improving product quality through the achievement of process stability and capability. Generally there are two types of variations in the process assignable cause variations and special cause variation. An important objective of SPC is to detect quickly the occurrence of assignable causes of process variation, so that the process can be investigated and any required corrective action can be taken before many nonconforming units are manufactured.

Book Statistical Models and Control Charts for High Quality Processes

Download or read book Statistical Models and Control Charts for High Quality Processes written by Min Xie and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control charts are widely used in industry to monitor processes that are far from Zero-Defect (ZD), and their use in a near Zero-Defect manufacturing environment poses many problems. This book presents techniques of using control charts for high-quality processes, and some recent findings and applications of statistical control chart techniques for ZD processes are presented. A powerful technique based on counting of the cumulative conforming (CCC) items between two nonconforming ones is discussed in detail. Extensions of the CCC chart are described, as well as applications of cumulative sum and exponentially weighted moving average techniques to CCC-related data, multivariate methods, economic design of control chart procedures, and modeling and analysis of trended but regularly adjusted processes. Many examples, charts, and procedures, are presented throughout the book, and references are provided for those interested in exploring the details. A number of questions and issues are posed for further investigations. Researchers and students may find many ideas in this book useful in their academic work, as a foundation is laid for the exploration of many further theoretical and practical issues.

Book Control Charts for Statistical Process Control a Literature Overview

Download or read book Control Charts for Statistical Process Control a Literature Overview written by Anika Johlke and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control charts are a widely used tool for statistical process control and have been continuously researched and applied for several decades. If the underlying assumptions are guaranteed, traditional charts such as the Shewhart, EWMA or CUSUM chart are a reasonable choice for monitoring production or service processes. However, with the increasing availability of data and the need for more complex monitoring processes, these charts have evolved, resulting in a broad and diverse field of research. This literature overview aims to categorize the different characteristics of control charts, including general and specific types of control charts, different types of data, multivariate and distribution-free charts, computation methods, and the economic approach to designing a control chart. In particular, a categorization scheme for different performance metrics is provided, which is the first of its kind. This overview offers a brief summary of all categories, outlines representative and high-quality articles, introduces the most influential authors in the field, and suggests several areas for future research. Unlike recent literature reviews, we do not focus on a specific property of control charts, but rather provide a comprehensive overview. Research on this topic has not ceased at all, in fact it has increased in the past two years, emphasizing the continued importance of control charts.
