Book Performance Analysis of a Generalized Concurrent Error Detection Procedure

Download or read book Performance Analysis of a Generalized Concurrent Error Detection Procedure written by Douglas M. Blough and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Accordingly, the data block capture and analysis monitoring process is concerned with detecting deviations from the normal performance of the system, known as errors, which are symptomatic of fault conditions. The process consists of repeatedly recording a fixed amount of data from a set of predetermined observation lines of the system being monitored (i.e., capturing a block of data), and then analyzing the captured block in an attempt to determine whether the system is functioning correctly.

Book Fundamentals of Space Systems

Download or read book Fundamentals of Space Systems written by Vincent L. Pisacane and published by Johns Hopkins University Appli. This book was released on 2005 with total page 872 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fundamentals of Space Systems was developed to satisfy two objectives: the first is to provide a text suitable for use in an advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate course in both space systems engineering and space system design. The second is to be a primer and reference book for space professionals wishing to broaden their capabilities to develop, manage the development, or operate space systems. The authors of the individual chapters are practicing engineers that have had extensive experience in developing sophisticated experimental and operational spacecraft systems in addition to having experience teaching the subject material. The text presents the fundamentals of all the subsystems of a spacecraft missions and includes illustrative examples drawn from actual experience to enhance the learning experience. It includes a chapter on each of the relevant major disciplines and subsystems including space systems engineering, space environment, astrodynamics, propulsion and flight mechanics, attitude determination and control, power systems, thermal control, configuration management and structures, communications, command and telemetry, data processing, embedded flight software, survuvability and reliability, integration and test, mission operations, and the initial conceptual design of a typical small spacecraft mission.

Book Lectures on Formal Methods and Performance Analysis

Download or read book Lectures on Formal Methods and Performance Analysis written by Ed Brinksma and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-29 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditionally, models and methods for the analysis of the functional correctness of reactive systems, and those for the analysis of their performance (and - pendability) aspects, have been studied by di?erent research communities. This has resulted in the development of successful, but distinct and largely unrelated modeling and analysis techniques for both domains. In many modern systems, however, the di?erence between their functional features and their performance properties has become blurred, as relevant functionalities become inextricably linked to performance aspects, e.g. isochronous data transfer for live video tra- mission. During the last decade, this trend has motivated an increased interest in c- bining insights and results from the ?eld of formal methods – traditionally - cused on functionality – with techniques for performance modeling and analysis. Prominent examples of this cross-fertilization are extensions of process algebra and Petri nets that allow for the automatic generation of performance models, the use of formal proof techniques to assess the correctness of randomized - gorithms, and extensions of model checking techniques to analyze performance requirements automatically. We believe that these developments markthe - ginning of a new paradigm for the modeling and analysis of systems in which qualitative and quantitative aspects are studied from an integrated perspective. We are convinced that the further worktowards the realization of this goal will be a growing source of inspiration and progress for both communities.

Book Defect and Fault Tolerance in VLSI Systems

Download or read book Defect and Fault Tolerance in VLSI Systems written by C.H. Stapper and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Higher circuit densities, increasingly more complex application ohjectives, and advanced packaging technologies have suhstantially increased the need to incorporate defect-tolerance and fault-tolerance in the design of VLSI and WSI systems. The goals of defect-tolerance and fault-tolerance are yield enhancement and improved reliahility. The emphasis on this area has resulted in a new field of interdisciplinary scientific research. I n fact, advanced methods of defect/fault control and tolerance are resulting in enhanced manufacturahility and productivity of integrated circuit chips, VI.SI systems, and wafer scale integrated circuits. In 1987, Dr. W. Moore organized an "International Workshop on Designing for Yield" at Oxford University. Edited papers of that workshop were published in reference [II. The participants in that workshop agreed that meetings of this type should he con tinued. preferahly on a yearly hasis. It was Dr. I. Koren who organized the "IEEE Inter national Workshop on Defect and Fault Tolerance in VLSI Systems" in Springfield Massachusetts the next year. Selected papers from that workshop were puhlished as the first volume of this series [21.
