This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Greetings!!! It is indeed an honor and pleasure for me to share with you valuable information that will elevate your mime and drama ministry to a new dimension of worship. By the end of this handbook my prayer is that you will be equipped to minister to the masses like never before. As you read and begin to implement the wisdom that flows within, please keep this thought in the forefront of your mind: (Your growth in ministry depends heavily on your willingness to never stop learning and to never stop worshiping the Lord) God is a forward moving God. So in other words, stop using the plans and utensils from yesterday for your today. Implement the plan that God is currently using (Present) not what He used (Past). What He USED was necessary to get you to where you are now. It serves as your reminder, your testimony for others. "One of the key elements to creativity is the ability to embrace its openness. The positive power and energy that exudes from the arts cannot be contained in a box mentality." Such thinking chokes the life out of creativity causing it to become stale, boring, and ineffective. Therefore my goal is to instill fresh, innovative, creative ideas along with proper instructions to mime and performing arts ministries, by introducing the marriage of mime and drama - (Mime-O-Drama). I encourage you to align your lifestyle, your creativity with the anointing of the Holy Spirit and become one. This unity creates an atmosphere where true ministry takes place. Miracles, signs and wonders become the norm. Broken hearts are mended, the chains of bondage are broken, the vital breath of healing, deliverance and salvation flow into the lives of both the believer and non-believer. (Isaiah 61:1 - 3) says: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." "Understanding your Holy calling equips you to live a lifestyle befitting of the call to be effective in ministry of mime and drama." The principle that sustains this handbook can be found in: (2nd Timothy 2: 15) says: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth." "It is my earnest prayer that God will impart a fresh fire anointing upon your ministry. We as ministers of the performing arts have the ultimate responsibility to uplift the name of Jesus to the nations at all times. The lifestyle we live before our peers should serve as a light on a hill which would lead those searching, to find Christ." So let us lay aside the spirit of competition, entertainment, and personal gratification for the greater good. Let us therefore center our attention on Jesus Christ and illustrate HIS truth which is entrenched in the Word of God. - Minister Christopher Bailey, Sr.-

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Any pastor who needs and wants to get back to basics will do well to absorb this book. Eugene Peterson, well known as "a pastor's pastor," here speaks words of wisdom and refreshment for pastors caught in the busyness of preaching, teaching, and "running the church." In The Contemplative Pastor Peterson highlights the often-overlooked essentials of ministry, first by redefining the meaning of pastor through three strengthening adjectives: unbusy, subversive, andapocalyptic. The main part of the book focuses on pastoral ministry and spiritual direction "between Sundays": these chapters begin with poetic reflections on the Beatitudes and then discuss such themes as curing souls, praying with eyes open, the language of prayer, the ministry of small talk, and sabbatical--all with engaging, illustrative anecdotes from Peterson's own experience. The book ends with several meaning-full poems that pivot on the incarnation, the doctrine closest to pastoral work. Entitled "The Word Made Fresh," this concluding section is a felicitous finale to Peterson's discerning, down-to-earth reflections on the art of pastoring.

Book Jennifer Pastor

Download or read book Jennifer Pastor written by Jennifer Pastor and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jennifer Pastor (b. 1966) reinterprets common yet curiously unexpected subjects in her sculpture and drawings, which reflect influences as varied as Claes Oldenburg and pop cultural phenomena. Accompanying an exhibition at the Whitney Museum, this book explores Pastor's installation The Perfect Ride, which comprises a large sculpture inspired by the Hoover Dam; a sculptural rendering of the human ear; and a line-drawn animation of a cowboy on a bucking bull. Pastor's style lies somewhere between kitsch and Pop art, but without the ironic intention. The products of meticulous research and painstaking craftsmanship, her pieces evoke an improbable sense of enchantment, relating both to the physical world and the surreal world of dreams. "Jennifer Pastor: The Perfect Ride" sheds new light on the work of this intriguing young artist.

Book The Art of Sermon Illustration Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Art of Sermon Illustration Classic Reprint written by H. Jeffs and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-17 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Art of Sermon Illustration Every preacher covets the power to illustrate his sermons and addresses. Few preachers possess it in any marked degree. A fertile illustrator, like the poet and the painter, is born, not made. None the less, it is possible to cultivate the art; and the purpose of this book is to assist those who realise the necessity of being interesting, and are not destitute of imagination, to develop what gift they have. There are pitfalls in the way of the sermon and address illustrator, and the preacher and speaker will be put on their guard against them. The author has gone to the Bible as a store house of illustrations by inspired writers who possessed the art in perfection. Most of all he would send preachers to the Gospels, to Him who spake as never man spake, and without a parable spake He not unto them, for matchless examples of the illustra tion of spiritual truth. None realised as the Master. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
