Book excerpt: My head hit the inside of my car so hard that part of my brain was pulverized into liquid brain matter, and parts of fractured skull were driven into my brain. How long we sat broken and bleeding in my car, no one will ever know. At the age of 23, I died in a car accident As my body sat crumpled in my wrecked car on a frigid December morning, my spirit left this world. Against all odds help arrived. The jaws of life bit through already mangled metal and glass to allow access to my lifeless body. First priority with me was to try and restart my heart. Without a heartbeat, nothing else mattered. I would survive my horrific injuries. Incredibly, this turn-about in my prognosis all happened overnight; the doctors and nurses could not explain why. Then, the most revelatory thing of all occurred and it became all too obvious that a power greater than modern medicine was at work, helping me, bringing me out of the worst of my injuries, the unfathomable power of prayer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing to God – Kid’s’ Edition offers guidance to kids that parents can also appreciate: It invites them to speak to God creatively through their pens (or pencils, or crayons). In 35 days, kids are invited to pray to God using their senses, reflecting on their feelings, in light of Bible verses, looking at nature, to understand the ordinary events of life, to use new words and pictures for God, and as a way to say “thank you.” “Hackenberg’s book gives children permission to experience prayer as daily conversation with God. The freshness and honesty of her own prayers and her helpful prompts invite them to find and value their own words as offerings to a God who wants to be in relationship with them.” –Anabel Proffitt, Associate Professor of Educational Ministries, Lancaster Theological Seminary

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I can't tell God this!" "Why are you even praying about that?" "God doesn't want to hear about that stuff!" Does your prayer life suffer when any of these come to mind while in prayer? If so, you are not alone. Unfortunately, praying authentically to God can seem wrong and even off limits. We fear real conversations with God out of fear - the fear that God is angry; the fear that God isn't listening; or the fear that God won't forgive. When we "don't have it all together", it is tempting to think God doesn't want any involvement in our lives. When we lack understanding of God's true nature, we limit His power to transform our lives through prayer. "Our perspective of God must change in order for His true nature and love for us to be revealed." In "Pen & Paper = Release: Poetic Prayers For The Weary Soul," you will experience authentic poetic prayers spoken to God about my life of challenges, fears, and confessions. You will also experience, throughout each prayer, how my prayer life powerfully transformed the more I opened up to God. Allow God to do the same for you! Embark upon a new journey as I challenge you to sincerely and intentionally pour out to God. Be prepared to experience a powerfully renewed and transformed prayer life!

Book excerpt: Is the REAL you getting lost because the FAKE you is just so annoyingly impressive? “Stepping onto the platform to preach that morning, I admitted to myself that I was not a pastor first, but a regular, scared, insecure, everyday guy whose life had been changed by Jesus. And if Jesus really loved me as I was (I knew He did), then why should I go on trying to be someone I wasn’t?” Why DO we fake it so much? Why do we spend so much time trying to please everyone else and make so little effort trying to please God? When Craig Groeschel asked himself those questions, he couldn’t come up with a good answer. So one day he decided to drop the act and start getting real. With that one choice, his life began to change in a big way. And yours can, too. Craig’s passionate, funny, warts-and-all confessions and the lessons he learned will help you find you own path to authentic living and a deeper relationship with God. Includes study guide for personal or group use.
