Lam meets molecular eugenicist Dr. Europa Mann, the rainbow-skinned clone of the goddess Europa of Greek mythology, and her cloned half bull-man Minotaur lover-god Zeus, who lead Lam and Lam Brain U faculty and students to Noahs ark and the fascinating world of the reemerged lost continent of Atlantis. Will Dr. Lam be able to create Venus into the new Mother Earth, by resurrecting the twelve tribes of Israel and all the extinct species that once flourished on planet Earth prior to the great flood? Could they then restore the matriarchy and biodiversity of the lost continent of Atlantis for galactic peace for all earthlings throughout the Milky Way? Will Lam Brains new world be able to free the masses of earthlings from enslavement from the genes of wrath of the red planet? Will the elitist galactic oppressors (EGOs) from all of hisdestroy finally be resurrected and brought to justice to pay reparations as reasonable compensation to the Venusians for all the pain and suffering for almost four thousand years of enslavement and genocide of their ancestors? Book Peace Love Yoga

    Book Details:
  • Author : Andrea R. Jain
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2020-07-28
  • ISBN : 0190888644
  • Pages : 256 pages

Download or read book Peace Love Yoga written by Andrea R. Jain and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2020-07-28 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Engaging with the growing popular and academic interest in the "spiritual but not religious," Andrea R. Jain explores the connections between the practices of global spirituality and aspects of neoliberal capitalism in Peace Love Yoga. "Personal growth," "self-care," and "transformation" are all tropes in the narrative of the spiritual identity Jain is concerned with. This "spirituality" is usually depicted as firmly countercultural: the term "alternative" (alternative health, alternative medicine, alternative spiritualities) is omnipresent. To the contrary, Jain argues, spiritual commodities, entrepreneurs, and consumers are quite mainstream and sometimes even conservative and nationalistic. Ranging from the transnational to the economic to the activist, Jain refuses the single narrative focus of most works on the SBNR; human phenomena that can be analyzed through a single lens or narrative are few and far between, and existing research in this area too often yields a suspiciously tidy story. The heart of the book includes sophisticated analyses of: two politically divergent but equally entrepreneurial and global-capitalist yoga gurus; "athleisure apparel" corporations, such as lululemon, that successfully market consumer goods as a purchased commitment to social justice; and therapeutically-focused applications of spirituality that concentrate on healing the broken person rather than undermining the system that broke that person in the first place. Many spiritual commodities, corporations, and entrepreneurs, Jain suggests, do actually acknowledge the problems of neoliberal capitalism and in fact subvert them; but they subvert them through mere gestures. From provocative taglines printed across t-shirts or packaging to calls for "conscious capitalism," commodification serves as a strategy through which subversion itself is colonized.

Book excerpt: The leading clinical expert on marijuana sifts through the myths about the drug to deliver an unbiased, comprehensive guide backed by scientific facts to give you the information you need to make informed decisions about marijuana. Marijuana--or weed, pot, grass, MJ, Mary Jane, reefer, cannabis, or hemp among dozens of other names--has a long, colorful history dating back more than 2,000 years as the one of the most sought-after mood-altering substances in the world. Societal opinion about the drug has dramatically swayed over the years, from viewing it as a grave danger to society in the 1930s film Reefer Madness, to a harmless recreational high in the ’60s, to an addictive substance and gateway to such “hard” drugs as heroin today. The myths and misinformation about marijuana have only multiplied over the years as the controversy over legalization and medical marijuana grows. A nationally recognized clinical expert and leading researcher on marijuana, Kevin P. Hill provides a comprehensive guide to understanding the drug in Marijuana: The Unbiased Truth about the World’s Most Popular Weed. Through research-based historical, scientific, and medical information, Hill will help you sort through what you hear on the streets and in the media and cut straight to the facts. Whether you’re a parent concerned about your child’s use, someone with an illness considering medical marijuana as a treatment option, a user who has questions about its effect on your health, or if you’re just trying to make up your mind about legalization, this book will give you the most current and unbiased information you need to make informed decisions about marijuana.

Book excerpt: Reclaim Your Headspace and Find Your One True Voice As a hospital chaplain, J.S. Park encountered hundreds of patients at the edge of life and death, listening as they urgently shared their stories, confessions, and final words. J.S. began to identify patterns in his patients’ lives—patterns he also saw in his own life. He began to see that the events and traumas we experience throughout life become deafening voices that remain within us, even when the events are far in the past. He was surprised to find that in hearing the voices of his patients, he began to identify his own voices and all the ways they could both harm and heal. In The Voices We Carry, J.S. draws from his experiences as a hospital chaplain to present the Voices Model. This model explores the four internal voices of self-doubt, pride, people-pleasing, and judgment, and the four external voices of trauma, guilt, grief, and family dynamics. He also draws from his Asian-American upbringing to examine the challenges of identity and feeling “other.” J.S. outlines how to wrestle with our voices, and even befriend them, how to find our authentic voice in a world of mixed messages, and how to empower those who are voiceless. Filled with evidence-based research, spiritual and psychological insights, and stories of patient encounters, The Voices We Carry is an inspiring memoir of unexpected growth, humor, and what matters most. For those wading through a world of clamor and noise, this is a guide to find your clear, steady voice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When what is assumed to be a gas explosion destroys a woman’s home, a witness is drawn into events that lead far beyond the victim’s passion for protecting turtles and into a criminal plot that will test lifelong friendships, endanger a dam and involve a once-famous imprisoned eco-terrorist. A mysterious van that was once used in a plot to damage the Lincoln Memorial is found disabled atop a dam in rural Idaho, bringing to light the burglary, twenty-five years earlier, of the Federal Ordinance Arsenal in Washington State and creating suspicion about the motives of a group of locals caring for their recently injured friend—the Turtle Lady. Law enforcement initially pursues R.A. Endicott—an unlikely suspect most comfortable tending his pumpkins—and his good friend Skipper for their vague involvement with the damaged home, but information is gathered that suggests a conspiracy and imminent plot aimed at eliminating Double Falls Reservoir in the name of salmon habitat. However, when the plan is ultimately exposed, that proves not to have been the case at all. The target is something no one imagined and the goal far more sinister than anyone suspected.

Book CBD

    CBD

    Book Details:
  • Author : Leonard Leinow
  • Publisher : North Atlantic Books
  • Release : 2017-10-31
  • ISBN : 1623171849
  • Pages : 353 pages

Download or read book CBD written by Leonard Leinow and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2017-10-31 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The essential book on CBD as medicine This practical, accessible guide to using CBD-dominant cannabis contains a wealth of information for both first-time explorers and experienced patients who want to know more about safely treating a number of health conditions with remarkable results and low to no psychoactivity or negative side effects. CBD (cannabidiol) is a component of cannabis that can provide relief for conditions such as seizures, pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, arthritis, and a number of other issues. This book offers guidance on various forms of the medicine such as oil infusions, alcohol-based tinctures, capsules, and CO2 concentrated extracts. The information is organized by health condition and also by recommended CBD-rich strains, which do not produce the "highs" associated with THC. With dosage suggestions, potential side effects and contraindications, and the pharmacology of the plant, this is an essential guide for both doctors and patients looking for a nontoxic alternative to opiate-based pain medications and other pharmaceuticals. While cannabis has been used for medicinal and recreational purposes for thousands of years, only in the last fifty years have scientists begun to shed light on the chemistry of the plant and its interactions with the human body. Research has led to the discovery of a whole new system in the body, the endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in mediating functions such as appetite, immunity, mood, pain response, and memory. The authors present case studies, interviews with doctors who prescribe cannabidiol products, and the latest research regarding other active phytocannabinoids and terpenoids present in cannabis that are being studied for medical use. They also address the difference between CBD products derived from industrial hemp or in a lab, versus those made from medical marijuana using the whole plant. In addition to offering the most up-to-date and comprehensive information on CBD-dominant cannabis therapy for humans, this book is the first to offer guidance for using the medicine for animals, with suggestions for dosage and delivery and useful forms and strains for common health issues in pets. Finally, the authors take a look at the future of cannabis medicine, charting trends in the legalization movement and suggesting how CBD might be used to fight the opioid epidemic.
