Download or read book Tracking the Storm Uncovering the Pattern to Great Crisis written by Carl E. Creasman Jr. and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2011-09-16 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tracking the Storm provides powerful clues about what is coming, rapidly, to the United States. There is little doubt that a storm is approaching the country, the outer edges of the winds already swirling around us. What does that portend for the nation? Through the clues of history, we can find direction and steps to undertake in preparation. Many believe there won't be a storm, or maybe that the worst is over. With history as a guide, Carl E Creasman Jr demonstrates that we haven't yet even reached the Great Crisis. Gripping and "a scary yet necessary read," Tracking the Storm moves through the past 400 years of Anglo-American history to illustrate the various clues provided that show the steps to the coming crisis. Carl E Creasman Jr tells the story of political instability, economic distress, rapid technological changes and a growing philosophical divide that challenged previous generations. At the end of each Great Crisis, the nation had been radically changed.

Book Sentence Patterns in English and Hebrew

Download or read book Sentence Patterns in English and Hebrew written by Ron Kuzar and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sentence Patterns in English and Hebrew offers an innovative perspective on sentential syntax, in which sentence patterns are introduced as constructions within the general framework of Construction Grammar. Drawing on naturally occurring data collected from the Internet, the study challenges the prevailing view of predication as the sole mechanism of sentence formation, and introduces the idea of patterning as a complementary, sometimes even alternative mechanism. Major sentence patterns of English and Hebrew are systematically presented, targeting both their form and their function. A contrastive analysis of the sentence patterns in these two languages results in postulating a typological group, in which cognitive motivations are shown to account for both similarities and differences within the typology. Sentence Patterns in English and Hebrew will appeal to scholars of constructional approaches, cognitive linguistics, typology, syntax, as well as anyone interested in English and Hebrew.

Download or read book Patterns in Nature written by Philip Ball and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2016-04-05 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The acclaimed science writer “curates a visually striking, riotously colorful photographic display…of physical patterns in the natural world” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). Though at first glance the natural world may appear overwhelming in its diversity and complexity, there are regularities running through it, from the hexagons of a honeycomb to the spirals of a seashell and the branching veins of a leaf. Revealing the order at the foundation of the seemingly chaotic natural world, Patterns in Nature explores not only the math and science but also the beauty and artistry behind nature’s awe-inspiring designs. Unlike the patterns we create, natural patterns are formed spontaneously from the forces that act in the physical world. Very often the same types of pattern and form—such as spirals, stripes, branches, and fractals—recur in places that seem to have nothing in common, as when the markings of a zebra mimic the ripples in windblown sand. But many of these patterns can be described using the same mathematical and physical principles, giving a surprising unity to the kaleidoscope of the natural world. Richly illustrated with 250 color photographs and anchored by accessible and insightful chapters by esteemed science writer Philip Ball, Patterns in Nature reveals the organization at work in vast and ancient forests, powerful rivers, massing clouds, and coastlines carved out by the sea. By exploring similarities such as the branches of a tree and those of a river network, this spectacular visual tour conveys the wonder, beauty, and richness of natural pattern formation.

Book RAF Fighters Before the Storm

Download or read book RAF Fighters Before the Storm written by Martin Derry and published by Air World. This book was released on 2024-06-30 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the First World War ended the then recently established Royal Air Force was awash with aircraft of all descriptions. More surprising, perhaps, was the fact that despite an ongoing cull of obsolescing types, on the last day of 1919, the RAF still possessed 9,122 non-obsolete aircraft , with a further 1,100 more assigned to the Fleet Air Arm. while the famous SE.5A and Sopwith Camel had by this time largely been consigned to history, the RAF possessed no less than 1,860 Sopwith Snipes which, from 1920, would become the RAF’s standard single-seat fighter for years to come. Other core types on charge on 31 December 1919 included some 1,650 Bristol F.2B fighters and 1,250 de Havilland DH.9As, which, together with the Snipe, accounted for over fifty per cent of the RAF’s inventory at that time. Avro 504 training aircraft accounted for a further 2,700 airframes. In this Flight Craft Special, the authors provide a detailed and informative pictorial history of those scout/fighter aircraft that served in an operational capacity with the RAF from January 1920 until the last day of 1939 – a period in which Britain once again moved from an era of peace to war with an old enemy, albeit this time Hitler’s totalitarian National Socialist Germany as opposed to the Imperial Germany of old. As well as covering each of the fighter types used during the inter-war period, and featuring most of the squadrons, the photographs themselves convey the sense of the technical advances that rapidly took root within Britain’s aero industries from the mid-1930s onwards, moving from the brightly-marked overall silver wood and linen biplanes to the dull camouflaged metal-skinned monoplanes. The progression of machine-gun development – from the Lewis and Vickers of the First World War to the later Browning – is covered, spanning the days of the biplanes’ two fixed synchronised Lewis or Vickers .303-inch machine-guns mounted in the forward fuselage to eight wing-mounted .303-inch Browning machine-guns in the ‘new’ monoplane fighters. There is also a small, but fascinating, section on the monoplane ‘also rans’ – the monoplane fighters that were designed and had prototypes built but failed to reach the finishing post!

Book Panic Attacks Calming the Storm

Download or read book Panic Attacks Calming the Storm written by Brian Ludwig and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-09-30 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do I explain what I’m going through? Will anybody understand? This book takes a logical approach to help you understand what few can explain. Brian Ludwig was a typical businessman who truly demanded success. He was driven by logic, obsessed with order, and only truly comfortable when firmly in control. For 10 years, he was overcome by debilitating panic attacks and anxiety disorder that completely turned his life upside down. Through his relentless nature, he was determined to not let his life be taken hostage. Brian sought to understand how the mind works and gathered invaluable information by observing and counseling others overwhelmed by panic and anxiety. He discovered some common denominators that spur on panic and anxiety attacks. In Journey 1, he, shares his straightforward approach that set him and many others free. Meanwhile, he could not drown out the constant desire to unravel the truth about God. So, how does a man driven by logic and control learn to understand a God who appears illogical to the world and is only fully embraced through yielding? In Journey 2, follow Brian through his determination to overcome spiritual confusion. As he yielded to know God, spiritual truths were unraveled that actually helped pave the way for him to obtain his freedom from panic disorder and, in the process, truly know the ways of God. God empowered Brian to experience the miraculous and took him to a place where the illogical actually became logical. Discover how his journey to obtain freedom from panic disorder merges with his quest to understand the nature of God. Together they make a compelling story, but more importantly, they offer the reader a road to success for the same struggles that so many face. I had lost all hope and seriously questioned if I could be happy again. I feel I was called to write this book to share the victory I received through God’s amazing power and love. Join me in a life-changing journey of mental freedom and spiritual awareness. Brian Ludwig
