Book excerpt: This study aims to investigate the patronage behaviour of Islamic banks customers and the importance of Shariah compliance, within a total Islamic banking system, compared to other criteria in their selection decisions. The sample consists of 395 valid and complete responses of bank customers. Factor analysis is used to classify a set of 23 items submitted to participants for their opinion. Findings revealed that within a pure Islamic banking system Shariah Abidance of the Islamic bank is the most important factor in bank patronage. The study has many implications for marketers in designing and planning their marketing strategies and plans and future investments of their organizations, especially when intense competition exist in the industry. The study adds to the existing literature on consumer bank patronage behaviour in Islamic banking system in the context of Sudan.

Book excerpt: Internet banking has become a global phenomenon.It is the fastest growing service that banks can offer in order to gain and retain new customers. However, the issue of adoption behaviour by final consumers seems to be a pivotal issue in the successful implementation of Internet banking. In some countries, Internet banking has proved to be very reliable and efficient whilst in some others, they are found to be extremely dormant due to adoption behaviour. This study tried to investigate if there are differences in Internet banking adoption behaviour between Ghana and Sweden. One bank each from Ghana and Sweden was selected for this study. The study employed the extended technology acceptance model and it was based on using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Questionnaires were accordingly administered to some selected Internet banking customers of the two banks selected for this study. The study concludes that there is only a marginal or subtle difference in the adoption behaviour in Internet banking between Ghana and Sweden, and that, the low patronage of Internet banking in Ghana as compared to that of Sweden is due to reasons other than customers' adoption behaviour.

The recent demonetization wave in 2016 and implementation of digitization/cashless system in banking are few examples that changed the habit of customers as well as the bankers bringing on certain advantages and disadvantages at the same time (Mehta et al. 2016). The disadvantages from bankers’ point of view can be termed as bankers’ inconvenience.

It investigates the relationship between service quality dimensions and customers' patronage using Bank Service Quality model dimensions. It also determines factors responsible for customers staying on queue for longer periods of time while awaiting bank services, assesses the level of customer satisfaction about services rendered by money deposit banks with a view of identifying factors that were responsible for customer disloyalty in patronising banks. The study employed Simple random sampling to select six banks namely First Bank Plc, United Bank of Africa Plc, Guarantee Trust Bank Plc, Access Bank, First City Monument Bank and Zenith Bank Plc for this study. Convenience sampling method was used to select 240 customers of the selected banks. The data were analysed through the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), while Pearson's correlation co-efficient and multiple regression analysis were used to test the hypotheses formulated whether significant relationship exist between service quality dimensions and customers' patronage.
