For two weeks, the team oversees all surgical and critical care at the airport, and provides evacuation for 12,000 American citizens and aeromedical evacuation of two hundred critically injured Haitian citizens. The medics perform 14 major operations, including several amputations, in a converted storage room in the U.S. Embassy and on the flight line.
