Book Pathologie du pied et de la cheville

Download or read book Pathologie du pied et de la cheville written by Jean-Luc Besse and published by Elsevier Masson. This book was released on 2015-10-13 with total page 1021 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Foot and ankle in rheumatoid arthritis

Download or read book Foot and ankle in rheumatoid arthritis written by Maurice Bouysset and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-08-07 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the earliest signs of rheumatoid arthritis may be pain in the foot. However, this part of the body is very often neglected during clinical assessment of the illness in favour of the articulations of the upper limbs, knees and hips. Nevertheless, it appears evident that a detailed clinical examination of the forefoot, ankle and heel could be useful in order to get closer to a rheumatological diagnosis. Thanks to blood tests and conventional imaging, completed with a scanner or MRI if needed, every doctor should be in a position to detect the beginning of rheumatoid arthritis in the foot or ankle. As well as its diagnostic contribution, this book broaches the theme of the most recent medicinal treatments, that of orthoses, made-to-measure shoes (the prescription of which practitioners and the rheumatologists often hand over to the orthopaedic surgeons), and finally that of local injections. These elements constitute the main treatment of the rheumatoid foot. Taking care of the ill subject does not necessarily stop there and a surgeon may need to operate on the forefoot, which is more common, or on the mid-foot or the ankle.

Book Imaging of Soft Tissue Tumors

    Book Details:
  • Author : Arthur M DeSchepper
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-03-09
  • ISBN : 3662078597
  • Pages : 645 pages

Download or read book Imaging of Soft Tissue Tumors written by Arthur M DeSchepper and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 645 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Only with the advent of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have radiologists become familiar with this uncommon pathology. The emphasis here is on MRI, as it guarantees the most accurate diagnosis of soft tissue tumours. Because of their rarity, multi-centric studies are necessary to collect statistically relevant numbers of these tumours and so assess the value of new imaging techniques in their detection, staging, grading, tissue characterisation, and post-treatment follow-up. This is a reflection of the work of a prestigious European study group of more than 30 such co-investigators - including experts on medical imaging - who collected more than 800 documented and histologically proven cases of soft tissue tumours. For each tumour type, 10-12 cases are shown, supported by 3-4 photos. Unsurpassed in its collection of case studies.

Book Bone SPECT CT of Ankle and Foot

Download or read book Bone SPECT CT of Ankle and Foot written by Guillaume Chuto and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-12-05 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divided into two parts, this book discusses various aspects of bone SPECT/CT of ankle and foot. The first part is dedicated to foot and ankle pathology and concisely presents those disorders most frequently detected with a bone scan. The authors also describe common pathologies that cannot be diagnosed with bone scans, such as Morton’s neuroma, but which nuclear physicians need to recognize. Orthopedic surgeons’ expectancies are highlighted and several bone scan studies of clinical interest are presented. The second part is devoted to anatomy: bones, articulations and all relevant anatomical structures that are necessary to interpret a bone scan of the ankle and foot are described by means of anatomical illustrations with captions. At the end of the last decade, hybrid scanners with the ability to acquire single-photon emission computed tomoscintigraphy (SPECT) and multislice CT data simultaneously were introduced, thus opening a wide range of perspectives for nuclear physicians. Like their radiologist colleagues in the early 1990s, nuclear physicians have discovered pathologies that they were unaware of and have visualized increased tracer uptakes that they were previously unable to detect. This book, written by nuclear physicians and orthopedic surgeons specialized in the foot and ankle, will increase understanding of this whole new semiology. The internationally recognized Terminologia Anatomica has been used for the nomenclature of anatomical structures.

Book Algodystrophy

  • Author : P. Doury
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2012-12-06
  • ISBN : 3642679897
  • Pages : 388 pages

Download or read book Algodystrophy written by P. Doury and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is with great pleasure and ,much interest that I accepted to write the foreword to this book by Paul Doury, Yves Dirheimer, and Serge Pattin on the subject of "algodystrophy." First, because I know the extent of their personal experience, from which they have selected the best for this book. Second, because it seemed to me that their detailed analysis of the numerous works on the subject, works which have been published all over the world and which provide diverse physiopathologic interpretations, would provide a comprehensive study meeting a real need. Algodystrophy, to adopt the term used by the authors, merits rheumatolog ists' careful attention. It is indeed a frequent condition and, as is now well known, occurs in the most varied etiologic circumstances; it is not solely posttraumatic, a notion on which diagnosis had long been based. This variable etiology suggests the complexity of algodystrophy's pathogenic mechanism.

Book Foot Surgery Viewed Through the Prism of Comparative Anatomy

Download or read book Foot Surgery Viewed Through the Prism of Comparative Anatomy written by Cyrille Cazeau and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-12-15 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comparative anatomy helps to define among surgical procedures, those that are able to restore early walking function using really useful structures, without necessarily respecting the normal anatomy. This book proposes an original vision based on the following ideas : • The cure is complete only if it occurs quickly, which is vital for vulnerable patients. • The surgical goal isnt the anatomical restitution ad integrum, but to resore the fonction, that of the permanent terrestrial human bipedalism. To identify it, put it back into its evolutionary context and compare it to the anatomo-functional models of our closest relatives, the great apes. • Achieving this dual objective through new surgical techniques (percutaneous and minimally invaseve), associated with biomechanical data for immediate and total support.
