Book Building State Capability

Download or read book Building State Capability written by Matt Andrews and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Governments play a major role in the development process, and constantly introduce reforms and policies to achieve developmental objectives. Many of these interventions have limited impact, however; schools get built but children don't learn, IT systems are introduced but not used, plans are written but not implemented. These achievement deficiencies reveal gaps in capabilities, and weaknesses in the process of building state capability. This book addresses these weaknesses and gaps. It starts by providing evidence of the capability shortfalls that currently exist in many countries, showing that many governments lack basic capacities even after decades of reforms and capacity building efforts. The book then analyses this evidence, identifying capability traps that hold many governments back - particularly related to isomorphic mimicry (where governments copy best practice solutions from other countries that make them look more capable even if they are not more capable) and premature load bearing (where governments adopt new mechanisms that they cannot actually make work, given weak extant capacities). The book then describes a process that governments can use to escape these capability traps. Called PDIA (problem driven iterative adaptation), this process empowers people working in governments to find and fit solutions to the problems they face. The discussion about this process is structured in a practical manner so that readers can actually apply tools and ideas to the capability challenges they face in their own contexts. These applications will help readers devise policies and reforms that have more impact than those of the past.

It is home to the most implacable enemies that humanity, in all its interstellar expansion, has ever encountered. Body armor has been devised for the commando forces that are to be dropped on Banshee—the culmination of ten thousand years of the armorers’ craft. A trooper in this armor is a one-man, atomic powered battle fortress. But he will have to fight a nearly endless horde of berserk, hard-shelled monsters—the fighting arm of a species which uses biological technology to design perfect, mindless war minions. Felix is a scout in A-team Two. Highly competent, he is the sole survivor of mission after mission. Yet he is a man consumed by fear and hatred. And he is protected, not only by his custom-fitted body armor, but by an odd being which seems to live within him, a cold killing machine he calls “The Engine.” This is Felix’s story—a story of the horror, the courage, and the aftermath of combat, and the story, too, of how strength of spirit can be the greatest armor of all.

This author is specifically referring to the fact that the Christos spent a lot of time casting out what the Bible calls unclean spirits. These unclean spirits were named "Archons" by many of the first Christians. They are still roaming the planet. They still are possessing people. The alien invasion has begun. Waves of Alien Parasites are invading Planet Earth. They are the Archons, and they are penetrating the minds of people just like you. Akin to vampires, they drain humans of their life energy. They have been doing so since the dawn of humankind on this planet. Did you know that you could be a victim of Archon attacks? Do you wake up in the morning angry over nothing? Do you get angry at the way breakfast is prepared, with other drivers on the run, or the way someone looks at you while you are getting on the subway or bus to work? During the day, are you often annoyed with your boss and co-workers? Does the rage, frustration and sadness inside you seem to be growing and growing? Are you turning to alcohol, food, social media, or other outlets just to dull the rage you feel? Then, at night, while watching the news do you become even more irritated? Why? Alien Parasites. Author Laurence Galian uses a form of direct knowledge of the Divine called Gnosticism to free you from the devastating attacks of Alien Mind Parasites. This powerful book on the subject of Alien Parasites will teach you what they are, how to detect them and how to eliminate them through forty techniques (plus two super effective bonus techniques). This book is perfect for the average reader and will serve as an excellent introduction to Gnosticism.

Some readers will enjoy the pleasure of escapism, others will seek insight into the master and slave lifestyle and others may find it a road map to enlightenment. At its heart, Transforming Tommy is a special kind of adult coming-out story about discovering and embracing a slaveheart; a much more challenging accomplishment than accepting sexual orientation.Tommy harbors a hidden submissive side, which he considers a shameful birth defect. His submissive needs have been kept safely tucked away in the shadows of self in order to shield him from ridicule and judgment. To conceal his aberration he creates a publically acceptable persona in order to fit in, but he ironically discovers that camouflaging his true identity only enhances his own self-ostracism and sense of isolation. At a chance meeting, Tommy is drawn to Maximus's hypnotic personality and aura of authority. This interaction fundamentally and irrevocably changes his life as he enters a hidden world where fantasies become reality. With an elegant air of confidence and unparalleled dominance, Maximus completely awakens the slaveheart in Tommy causing his ultimate transformation in some unexpected and fantastical ways.

This book was released on 2017-09-23 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I've always believed in the power of the mind. As a child I remember that I could always make myself sick on command if I had to, whatever it took to get out of school. I would usually have dream déjà vu and I would never cease to be amazed by the fact that something in my dreams would later become part of my objective reality. I constantly saw amazing things, some things that scared the daylights out of me, and I was blessed by the fact that I lived with my great-grandmother who seemed to be able to play with reality like some kids play with toys. At the time I did not feel so blessed to be around my great grandmother, and her antics scared me to death, but now in retrospect I find it amazing that others have never seen what I have seen and even doubt that such things exist.Life has an inner reality, I explore that realm. I believe that thought created reality instead of the other way around. What I have discovered, I try to share.
