Book PATAGONIA Torres Del Paine National Park

Download or read book PATAGONIA Torres Del Paine National Park written by Oleg Senkov and published by . This book was released on 2019-08-17 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a budget version of the travel guide with reduced printing costs; it is black and white (b/w) inside. The book is an unique and the most complete "smart" travel guide, which I made, at first, to be solely used in my own, after buying so many travel guides and still feeling - they aren't good enough for my adventures to explore wilderness as a biologist and wildlife/travel photographer. I was missing it during my trip to Patagonia in 2017, otherwise, I would be much more efficient as a wildlife photographer and traveler. This is my second book in the "wilderness explorer" series (first one I wrote about Peninsula Valdes, see it at 13 Amazon webstores: www.amazon.com/dp/B078RC9QC2), which I hope, will be a good "practical tool", an all-to-know set of guide books for you (for me as well), while you are exploring the world with responsible mind and open heart as a truly nature lover. The book contains 90 GPS coordinates of important to know places, 40 website links, covering all the important campsites, hotels, viewpoints, trails, key sightseeing, it has a detailed trekking map, and 14 photographs I made in March-April 2017. The book first describes how to get in/out the park, all park's updated rules and prices, then how to design your trekking route and how to book all accommodation in the park and nearby. In addition to popular "W" and "O" trekking circuits in the park, I give information about another 6 less-known, secret "off-the-bitten-pass" trails. I also give all the details for wild and paid camping, hotels, hostels, domes, cabins, food stores, roads conditions, travel scenarios, public buses, prices for touristic services, paid tours, wildlife safaris, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding. At the end of the guide, I give detailed information what kind of wild animals and where you can meet in the park (puma, condors, huemul, guanaco, fox) and their behavior. I also describe where you can find fossils from Jurassic Era of ichthyosaur, of a large prehistoric marine dolphin-like predator, or to see ancient cave paintings of indigenous tribes lived here 3000-8000 years ago. The book can be equally useful for "budget" adventure seekers, solo/group travelers, "fast & easy" with a rented car/campers or travel agency users as well as for paid wildlife and travel photographers on a mission.Printed versions of the book just went far beyond of my anticipations; quality is highest standard possible, they are rather small (15x23 cm), light-weight (only 150 g each), fully colorful inside with maps and GPS coordinates, pages are robustly made and glued, the cover is made of water-repellent paper, books are flexible, you can bend them, nothing will happen... though, they are ideal to put them into your backpack and use them while you travel through wonderful Patagonia... Enjoy and take care!

Book excerpt: From the peak of a mountain or the barrel of a wave, Patagonia has collected some of the most spectacular sports imagery in history. Relive the achievements captured in Patagonia’s history, as well as the joie de vivre fostered by nurturing a relationship with the great outdoors. Unique for a business enterprise, Patagonia’s catalog devotes fully half its space to nonselling editorial content – to environmental and sport essays and above all to extraordinary photographs of wild places and active pursuits for which the company makes its clothes. Since 1980, Patagonia has invited customers and wilderness photographers to submit their best, most unexpected shots of life outdoors – of alpine climbing, bouldering in the desert, skiing untracked bowls, surfing secret spots, ocean crossings, first kayak descents and travel in unfamiliar places. The photos have poured in ever since (current rate: 60,000 per year), some from the famous (John Russell, Galen Rowell), others from respected photographers (Corey Rich) who had their first work published in these pages. Jane Sievert and Jennifer Ridgeway, Patagonia’s current and founding photo editor, respectively, have been calling – and culling – the shots for three decades. This is their compendium of the 100-plus most compelling photos Patagonia has published – and a celebration of wilderness and outdoor-sport photography as an art and a practice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a fictional story, in which real characters are brought to life, the author presents an absolutely novel vision of events that, until now, were not considered as related. The events are intertwined until they lead to an unexpected ending that will catch both lovers of Patagonia and followers of the so-called Father of Evolution. Gerardo Bartolomé meticulously studied the actions of dozens of characters in those memorable pages in the history of Patagonian exploration, achieving a scenario in which what is not proven historical truth is, at least, completely possible of having occured.

Book excerpt: Patagonia Travel Guide. Environmental Study for Tourism. The place "Patagonia" is emblazoned in the minds of many who love the outdoors, yet the specifics are more of a mystery. Even the borders are not strictly defined-the region encompasses the large cone-shaped landmass at the southern end of South America shared between Chile and Argentina. Rough boundaries are Argentina's Neuquén province in the north and Chile's Cape Horn on the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago in the south. This area contains some of the most impressive and rugged terrain on earth. The Andean Cordillera runs the length of Patagonia and creates a constantly changing backdrop of jagged peaks. The Southern Patagonia Ice Fields, the world's third-largest frozen landmass after Antarctica and Greenland, feed a complex system of glaciers, milky blue lakes lined with icebergs, and powerful rivers. Southern Patagonia is wind-whipped and extreme; northern Patagonia is more temperate and lush with volcanoes and monkey puzzle trees. It's true that Patagonia isn't quite as as far-flung as it once was. Torres del Paine National Park in Chile and the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina, in particular, have seen steady increases in tourism. Upscale hotels and good restaurants are more commonplace than ever before. But Patagonia has retained a far-off frontier feel, and the places most people visit represent only a tiny fraction of all that there is to explore. Below are the prime areas of interest for those traveling to Patagonia, along with valuable trip planning information that is tough to come by for the region.
