Book Incredible Love Poems and Other Passionate Writings

Download or read book Incredible Love Poems and Other Passionate Writings written by Thomas Joe Franks Ph.D. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-07-18 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is no ordinary book of poetry. It’s about two people in love who later got married and continued to share their thoughts and emotions with us. I appreciate so many of you sharing your thoughts with me. The possibilities are limitless. I thank God for my lovely wife, companion, and best friend, Karen. Many of the poems are about her. Beware, some of the poems may contain adult language, but not like TV or the movies. All the poems were written before and after our marriage. For several years, I have wanted to write a book of poetry. I think you will be intrigued by the simplicity of these poems. Part 1 deals with poems that I have written to Karen over the past seventeen years and some other inspirational poems as well. Part 2 deals with motivational poems and passionate writings that I think you will enjoy. Some of the poems may be a little risqué, but nothing like TV or movies of today. Having written fictional books, inspirational books, religious books, motivational books, this was a real challenge. But I love poetry and classical prose. Hopefully, you will find a favorite poem that you like. This book is filled with passion, energy, and vitality. Enjoy!

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Poems of Passion Oh, you who read some song that I have sung - What know you of the soul from whence it sprung? Dost dream the poet ever speaks aloud His secret thought unto the listening crowd? Go take the murmuring sea-shell from the shore - You have its shape, its color - and no more. It tells not one of those vast mysteries That lie beneath the surface of the seas Our songs are shells, cast out by waves of thought; Here, take them at your pleasure; but think not You've seen beneath the surface of the waves, Where lie our shipwrecks, and our coral caves. Book excerpt: Passion in Verse: Poetry and Other Musings is a book for real people who aren't afraid to get in touch with their own feelings. I wrote this book from a personal history which has experienced an abundance of emotional climbs and descents, and that has witnessed many miscarriages of fairness and many triumphant moments in numerous arenas. In this book I did my best to paint vivid imagery for the imagination of the reader, each of which will interpret differently: imagery which puts the reader in the skin of and seeing through the eyes of the subject. I didn't write the poems to include catchy rhyming couplets, as that would have eliminated way too many vocabulary choices which would have limited far too greatly exactly what I wanted to convey. If you have ever been in love, felt low, admired the consummate skill of another, had irreplaceable friends, or enjoy just being out of doors in nature's realm, I think you will find something between these covers with which you can identify. And although it may be easy to read these contents in one sitting, I believe you may find it difficult to digest all its messages as quickly.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a knockout debut collection haunted by shame, violence, and the darkest of our human origins, Anders Carlson-Wee mines nourishment and holiness from our depths. Explosive and incantatory, The Low Passions traces the fringes of the American experiment through the eyes of a young drifter. Pathologically frugal, reckless, and vulnerable, the narrator of these viscerally compelling poems hops freight trains, hitchhikes, dumpster dives, and sleeps in the homes of total strangers, scavenging forgotten and hardscrabble places for tangible forms of faith. A range of strong-willed characters takes shape, amplified by a chorus of monologues from the strangers who shelter him and the family he’s left behind—each made manifest by the poet’s devoted ear and sensitive eye.
