Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book ‘Organic Synthesis - A Nascent Relook’ is a compendium of the recent progress in all aspects of organic chemistry including bioorganic chemistry, organo-metallic chemistry, asymmetric synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, natural product chemistry, catalytic, green chemistry and medicinal chemistry, polymer chemistry, as well as analytical methods in organic chemistry. The book presents the latest developments in these fields. The chapters are written by chosen experts who are internationally known for their eminent research contributions. Organic synthesis is the complete chemical synthesis of a target molecule. In this book, special emphasis is given to the synthesis of various bioactive heterocycles. Careful selection of various topics in this book will serve the rightful purpose for the chemistry community and the industrial houses at all levels.
Download or read book Chemical Biology of Natural Products written by David J. Newman and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-09-22 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemical Biology of Natural Products This unique, long-awaited volume is designed to address contemporary aspects of natural product chemistry and its influence on biological systems, not solely on human interactions. The subjects covered include discovery, isolation and characterization, biosynthesis, biosynthetic engineering, pharmaceutical, and other applications of these compounds. Each chapter begins with a brief and simple introduction to the subject matter, and then proceeds to guide the reader towards the more contemporary, cutting-edge research in the field, with the contributing authors presenting current examples from their own work in order to exemplify key themes. Topics covered in the text include genome mining, heterologous expression, natural product synthesis, biosynthesis, glycosylation, chemical ecology, and therapeutic applications of natural products, both current and potential.
Download or read book Tubulin Binding Agents written by Teresa Carlomagno and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-05-28 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: reviews. The SAR data are discussed in light of the structural information available for each agent. The second chapter focuses on the total synthesis of the marine sponge-derived polyketide discodermolide. A comprehensive survey of the synthetic chemistry efforts of several groups over a 14-year period is provided together with a compa- son of the different approaches. The third chapter describes a comprehensive study of the mechanisms of activity of microtubules stabilizing drugs. Thermodynamic, kinetic, structural and fu- tional data on microtubules stabilizing drugs are discussed in an interdisciplinary manner to generate a “time-resolved” picture of the interaction of the drugs with different tubulin forms. The fourth and fifth chapters review the efforts and achievements made in the characterization of the structure of the complexes of tubulin with microtubules stabilizing agents by NMR (Chapter 4) and EM (Chapter 5). Especially evident is the discrepancy of the results obtained for epothilones, where the two techniques deliver radically different structures of the bound drug. Both NMR and EM models are, however, able to explain a consistent set of SAR data. The authors of the two chapters discuss critically the advantages and limitations of each methodology.
