Book Implementation and Application of Automata

Download or read book Implementation and Application of Automata written by Sheng Yu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-29 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fifth International Conference on Implementation and Application of - tomata (CIAA 2000) was held at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada on July 24-25, 2000. This conference series was formerly called the International Workshop on Implementing Automata (WIA) This volume of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series contains all the papers that were presented at CIAA 2000, and also the abstracts of the poster papers that were displayed during the conference. The conference addressed issues in automata application and implemen- tion. The topics of the papers presented at this conference ranged from automata applications in software engineering, natural language and speech recognition, and image processing, to new representations and algorithms for e cient imp- mentation of automata and related structures. Automata theory is one of the oldest areas in computer science. Research in automata theory has always been motivated by its applications since its early stages of development. In the 1960s and 1970s, automata research was moti- ted heavily by problems arising from compiler construction, circuit design, string matching, etc. In recent years, many new applications have been found in various areas of computer science as well as in other disciplines. Examples of the new applications include statecharts in object-oriented modeling, nite transducers in natural language processing, and nondeterministic nite-state models in c- munication protocols. Many of the new applications do not and cannot simply apply the existing models and algorithms in automata theory to their problems.

Book Synthesis of Digital Automata Problemy Sinteza Tsifrovykh Avtomatov

Download or read book Synthesis of Digital Automata Problemy Sinteza Tsifrovykh Avtomatov written by V. G. Lazarev and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present collection is devoted to algorithmic methods, and computer algorithms, for the synthesis of digital computers and controlling machines. The work reported in the papers collected here was performed at the Institute for Prob lems of Information Transmission of the Academy of Science of the USSR, in the section for computational techniques of the Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Science of the USSR, and in the Problem Laboratory of Computing Devices of the Siberian Physics -Engineering Ins titute. The paper by A. D. Zakrevskii is devoted to the discussion of ways of solving basic prob lems in the area of computer solution of logical problems, including the problem of automata synthesis. In the paper by E. I. Piil' a methodology is presented for coding internal states and input states of finite automata which is suitable for computer realization. The suggested coding al gorithms permit one to take account simultaneously of constraints on inadmissible critical races of memory elements, speed and simplicity of structure of the automaton's logical transformer. E. N. Turuta's paper investigates certain methods of synthesizing reliable automata, based on the introduction of redundancy into the automaton's memory block. The paper by Ya. I. Fet contains a solution to the problem of synthesizing schemes of minimal depth for one of the most widely used bases of elements in computer technology.

Book Making Moving Toys and Automata

Download or read book Making Moving Toys and Automata written by Robert Race and published by The Crowood Press. This book was released on 2018-10-23 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This beautiful book draws on Robert Race's extensive collection of traditional moving toys, looking at the ways the makers have achieved remarkable and varied results, often with very limited resources. Each chapter begins by looking at the mechanisms and materials used in some of these traditional moving toys, goes on to consider possible variations, and describes how to make a related moving toy. It continues, from this basis, to develop a design for an automaton. The book shows that designing and making these simple but wonderfully satisfying mechanical devices is fun, and that good results can be achieved in many different ways, using a variety of materials, tools and equipment such as wood and wire, card and paper, bamboo, string, tin plate and feathers. It exploits, in a simple way, mechanisms such as levers, linkages, cranks and cams. It explores different ways of moving those mechanisms directly by hand, by springs or falling weights, and by the wind. Beautifully illustrated with 117 colour images.

Book Software Reliability with Jumping Finite Automata

Download or read book Software Reliability with Jumping Finite Automata written by Rahul Kumar Singh, Pardeep Singh, Gurmanpreet Singh and published by BFC Publications. This book was released on 2021-12-17 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is related to a research conducted in the field of software engineering, where a discrete model of Automata named as Jumping Finite Automata is being applied for analyzing the software reliability parameter. Issues with the traditional automata model is that it works for a continuous pattern only. So, to handle the discontinuity in the input pattern Jumping Finite Automata is applied. Basically, two approaches are considered for measuring the software reliability which shows some effective results for each approach. Prediction model can be considered under the traditional approach. In this research, the data set is considered for measuring the reliability using the Goel-Okumoto model then the same data set is applied through the FSM(finite state machine) the results that obtained are different. Analyzing those results the FSM is better model as compared to Traditional approach.
