Book Panzer Tracts 3 1 Panzerkamfpwagen III Ausf A B C und D

Download or read book Panzer Tracts 3 1 Panzerkamfpwagen III Ausf A B C und D written by Thomas L. Jentz and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Panzer Tracts No. 3-1 - Panzerkampwagen III Ausf.A, B, C, und D development and production from 1934 to 1938 plus the Leichttraktor and Krupp?s M.K.A. - Now for the first time, we have compiled an accurate account of Germany?s prewar development of the Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.A to D and the predecessor Leichttraktor based solely on primary source documents created by those who designed, produced, and employed the Panzers. The real history of Krupp?s M.K.A. has been included to dispel the erroneous belief that this export tank was a predecessor to the Pz.Kpfw.III. Even though a survivor hasn?t been found to date, component drawings from manuals could be precisely fitted together to create for the first time accurate four-view drawings of the Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.D and side views of the Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.A, B, and C. This 72 page book is illustrated with 19 drawings and 66 clean/rare photos with captions that correctly identify the external characteristics of each Ausfuehrung, including the five Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.D with Ausf.B turrets.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Panzer Tracts No. 3-2 - Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.E, F, G, und H development and production from 1938 to 1941. 38 years of digging out original records in public and private archives and hundreds of visits to museums were spent in creating this penultimate history of a winner - the Panzerkampfwagen III variants used to win the 1939 to 1941 campaigns. Survivors were accurately measured in detail and drawn at full scale to create as-built drawings for the first time - accurate to the same tight tolerances demanded of the original assembly firms. Thousands of hours went into sorting out the defining features for each Ausfuehrung as well as when significant modifications were introduced. We have selected the unique approach of using 1/10th scale drawings to illustrate the smallest details, while six-view (including right side and belly) 1/35th scale drawings are still used for the complete Pz.Kpfw.III. Over 120 clean/rare photos and drawings illustrate this 84 page book.

Download or read book Tank Gun Systems written by William Andrews and published by Pen and Sword Military. This book was released on 2023-06-30 with total page 937 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much has been written about the use of tanks in battle. Little, however, has appeared about the gunnery systems that are at their core. This book describes and examines the main gun systems of medium and heavy tanks from first use in 1916 in World War I to those fielded in numbers to the end of World War II in 1945, including tanks of the interwar period. Specifically considered are guns of a caliber greater than 35 mm, which have been deployed in numbers greater than 100. The emphasis is on guns mounted in turrets on heavier tracked armored fighting vehicles (greater than 15 tonnes) which were considered tanks. There are, though, exceptions, in that the naval 6 pounder guns in First World War British tanks, as well as the 75 mm guns in French medium tanks of the same period (all turretless) are included. The treatment of gun systems includes sighting and fire control equipment, gun laying equipment, mounts and the array of munitions fired, as well as the actual gun, including its, barrel, cradle, breech, firing mechanism, sights and recoil system. Related to this are issues of gun handling (loading and unloading), ammunition design and rates of fire. Also examined are the maximum impulse and energy generated by firing some of the munitions available that must be absorbed by the gun recoil system.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tanks used during the Spanish Civil War are not often examined in any great detail, and are often labeled as little more than test vehicles in a convenient proving ground before World War II. But, with groundbreaking research, armor expert Steven J Zaloga has taken a fresh look at the tanks deployed in Spain, examining how future tanks and armored tactics were shaped and honed by the crews' experiences, and how Germany was able to benefit from these lessons while their Soviet opponents were not. Based on recently uncovered records of Soviet tankers in Spain and rare archival accounts, this book describes the various tanks deployed in Spain, including the PzKpfw I and the T-26.

Book The Tanks of Operation Barbarossa

Download or read book The Tanks of Operation Barbarossa written by Boris Kavalerchik and published by Casemate Publishers. This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An absorbing study of the tanks and the tank tactics of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht during the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union in World War II. When the Germans invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, the Red Army had four times as many tanks as the Wehrmacht and their tanks were seemingly superior, yet the Wehrmacht won the border battles with extraordinary ease. The Red Army’s tank force was pushed aside and for the most part annihilated. How was this victory achieved, and were the Soviet tanks really as well designed as is often believed? These are the basic questions Boris Kavalerchik answers in this compelling study of tank warfare on the Eastern Front. Drawing on technical and operational documents from Russian archives, many of which were classified until recently and are unknown to Western readers, he compares the strengths and weakness of the tanks and the different ways in which they were used by the opposing armies. His work will be essential reading for military historians who are interested in the development of armored warfare and in this aspect of the struggle on the Eastern Front. “So much has been written on this subject, and yet this book dispels myths and offers fresh insights in a study of Soviet and German tanks at the beginning of the war on the Eastern Front . . . a fascinating selection of images.”—Firetrench “This book is highly recommended due to the excellent use of data, the organization of the book established by the author, and thoughtful and comprehensive coverage of the subject.”—IPMS/USA

Download or read book Hitler s Tanks written by Chris McNab and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2020-02-20 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Panzers that rolled over Europe were Germany's most famous fighting force, and are some of the most enduring symbols of World War II. However, at the start of the war, Germany's tanks were nothing extraordinary and it was operational encounters such as facing the Soviet T-34 during Operation Barbarossa which prompted their intensive development. Tactical innovation gave them an edge where technological development had not, making Hitler's tanks a formidable enemy. Hitler's Tanks details the development and operational history of the light Panzer I and II, developed in the 1930s, the medium tanks that were the backbone of the Panzer Divisions, the Tiger, and the formidable King Tiger, the heaviest tank to see combat in World War II. Drawing on Osprey's unique and extensive armour archive, Chris McNab skilfully weaves together the story of the fearsome tanks that transformed armoured warfare and revolutionised land warfare forever.
