Book Panoramic Large Screen 3 D Flight Display System Design

Download or read book Panoramic Large Screen 3 D Flight Display System Design written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-27 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report documents and summarizes the results of the required evaluations specified in the SOW and the design specifications for the selected display system hardware. Also included are the proposed development plan and schedule as well as the estimated rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost to design, fabricate, and demonstrate a flyable prototype research flight display system. The thrust of the effort was development of a complete understanding of the user/system requirements for a panoramic, collimated, 3-D flyable avionic display system and the translation of the requirements into an acceptable system design for fabrication and demonstration of a prototype display in the early 1997 time frame. Eleven display system design concepts were presented to NASA LaRC during the program, one of which was down-selected to a preferred display system concept. A set of preliminary display requirements was formulated. The state of the art in image source technology, 3-D methods, collimation methods, and interaction methods for a panoramic, 3-D flight display system were reviewed in depth and evaluated. Display technology improvements and risk reductions associated with maturity of the technologies for the preferred display system design concept were identified. Book excerpt: Now available in a three-volume set, this updated and expanded edition of the bestselling Digital Signal Processing Handbook continues to provide the engineering community with authoritative coverage of the fundamental and specialized aspects of information-bearing signals in digital form. Encompassing essential background material, technical details, standards, and software, The Digital Signal Processing Handbook, Second Edition reflects cutting-edge information on signal processing algorithms and protocols related to speech, audio, multimedia, and video processing technology associated with standards ranging from WiMax to MP3 audio, low-power/high-performance DSPs, color image processing, and chips on video. The three-volume set draws on the experience of leading engineers, researchers, and scholars and includes 29 new chapters that address multimedia and Internet technologies, tomography, radar systems, architecture, standards, and future applications in speech, acoustics, video, radar, and telecommunications. Each volume in the set is also available individually ... Emphasizing theoretical concepts, Digital Signal Processing Fundamentals (Catalog no. 46063) provides comprehensive coverage of the basic foundations of DSP. Coverage includes: Signals and Systems, Signal Representation and Quantization, Fourier Transforms, Digital Filtering, Statistical Signal Processing, Adaptive Filtering, Inverse Problems and Signal Reconstruction, and Time–Frequency and Multirate Signal Processing. Wireless, Networking, Radar, Sensor Array Processing, and Nonlinear Signal Processing (Catalog no. 46047) thoroughly covers the foundations of signal processing related to wireless, radar, space–time coding, and mobile communications together with associated applications to networking, storage, and communications. Video, Speech, and Audio Signal Processing and Associated Standards, (Catalog no. 4608X) details the basic foundations of speech, audio, image, and video processing and associated applications to broadcast, storage, search and retrieval, and communications.

Book Security in Virtual Worlds 3D Webs and Immersive Environments Models for Development Interaction and Management

Download or read book Security in Virtual Worlds 3D Webs and Immersive Environments Models for Development Interaction and Management written by Rea, Alan and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2010-11-30 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although one finds much discussion and research on the features and functionality of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), the 3D Web, Immersive Environments (e.g. MMORPGs) and Virtual Worlds in both scholarly and popular publications, very little is written about the issues and techniques one must consider when creating, deploying, interacting within, and managing them securely. Security in Virtual Worlds, 3D Webs, and Immersive Environments: Models for Development, Interaction, and Management brings together the issues that managers, practitioners, and researchers must consider when planning, implementing, working within, and managing these promising virtual technologies for secure processes and initiatives. This publication discusses the uses and potential of these virtual technologies and examines secure policy formation and practices that can be applied specifically to each.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 3D Virtual Applications: Applications with Virtual Inhabited 3D Worlds deals with the use of virtual inhabited 3D spaces in different domains of society. (Other volumes deal with interaction, production methodology and space.) From focusing on virtual reality (a reality into which users and objects from the real world should be moved) we are increasingly focusing on augmented reality (i.e. on moving computers out into the reality of real users, objects and activities). This book deals with the use of virtual inhabited 3D spaces in both contexts. Based on the structuring of the application domains, this book looks at the use of VR and augmented reality in the following major application domains: - Production oriented applications - use of VR and augmented reality for control of complex production plants, for navigation support (ships, cars, aeroplanes) and for support of collaborative work processes - Communication support applications - virtual spaces are used for supporting communication in learning environments and for support of organisational communication. Also virtual spaces are used for supporting the navigation of people in public spaces, i.e. as maps, planning tools - Scientific applications - use of 3D models for medical research; use of dynamic models for representation of abstract concepts and ideas (data-mining applications); use of dynamic 3D models for simulating biological or social processes - Artistic and cultural applications - the construction of stages representing concepts and/or emotions
