Frank Anderson Clark was born in Beaufort County, North Carolina, in 1819, the son of Charles Clifton Clark (1860-1905) and Lucy Elizabeth Paul Clark. He married Mary Marshal Cox (b. 1905), daughter of John Marshal Cox (1851-1904) and Mary Lucretia Edwards Cox, in 1918. They had twelve children. He died in 1969 in Virginia.
