Download or read book P I Jane 1 written by Lauren Burke and published by Caliber Comics. This book was released on 2019-09-20 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For fans of Veronica Mars! Meet Jane Day. Twenty-something temp-by-day, detective-by-night. Jane is employed by M.W. Investigations, which operates out of the owner, Margaret “Peggy” Woodward’s suburban home, and is entirely staffed by women. Under the guise of a knitting club called the “Stitch & Bitch,” Peggy’s girls meet once a week. The other P.I.‘s are assigned run-of-the-mill cases: insurance fraud, infidelity, nanny watching-- the usual. Jane’s cases, though? They’re a little... different. THIS ISSUE: "SOMNOLOGY 101: THE SCIENCE OF SLEEPWALKING" - Jane works the day shift at Lindelof & Lindelof and the night shift recording the things that go bump in the night. Specifically, the thing called Brett Wegener, sleepwalker extraordinaire. She also gets acquainted with her very own stalker. Pie and Cake also pop by for a visit. “Fans of The Venture Bros. or Buffy will enjoy the humor of this comic and will want to catch up on the fun that is P.I. Jane!” - Crisp Comics A Caliber Comics release.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the evolution of scientific theories, concern with uncertainty is almost invariably a concomitant of maturation. This is certainly true of the evolution· of physics, economics, operations research, communication sciences, and a host of other fields. And it is true of what has been happening more recently in the area of artificial intelligence, most notably in the development of theories relating to the management of uncertainty in knowledge-based systems. In science, it is traditional to deal with uncertainty through the use of probability theory. In recent years, however, it has become increasingly clear that there are some important facets of uncertainty which do not lend themselves to analysis by classical probability-based methods. One such facet is that of lexical elasticity, which relates to the fuzziness of words in natural languages. As a case in point, even a simple relation X, Y, and Z, expressed as if X is small and Y is very large then between Z is not very small, does not lend itself to a simple interpretation within the framework of probability theory by reason of the lexical elasticity of the predicates small and large.

Book Analytic Functions Integral Transforms Differential Equations

Download or read book Analytic Functions Integral Transforms Differential Equations written by Franco Tomarelli and published by Società Editrice Esculapio. This book was released on 2013-09-01 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential equations play a relevant role in many disciplines and provide powerful tools for analysis and modeling in applied sciences. The book contains several classical and modern methods for the study of ordinary and partial differential equations. A broad space is reserved to Fourier and Laplace transforms together with their applications to the solution of boundary value and/or initial value problems for differential equations. Basic prerequisites concerning analytic functions of complex variable and Lp spaces are synthetically presented in the first two chapters. Techniques based on integral transforms and Fourier series are presented in specific chapters, first in the easier framework of integrable functions and later in the general framework of distributions. The less elementary distributional context allows to deal also with differential equations with highly irregular data and pulse signals. The theory is introduced offhandedly and learning of miscellaneous methods is achieved step-by-step through the proposal of many exercises of increasing difficulty. Additional recap exercises are collected in dedicated sections. Several tables for easy reference of main formulas are available at the end of the book. The presentation is oriented mainly to students of Schools in Engineering, Sciences and Economy. The partition of various topics in several self-contained and independent sections allows an easy splitting in at least two didactic modules: one at undergraduate level, the other at graduate level. This text is the English translation of the Second Edition of the Italian book “Analisi Complessa, Trasformate, Equazioni Differenziali" published by Esculapio in 2013.

Book Advances in Ultrametric Analysis

Download or read book Advances in Ultrametric Analysis written by Alain Escassut and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2018-03-26 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Articles included in this book feature recent developments in various areas of non-Archimedean analysis: summation of -adic series, rational maps on the projective line over , non-Archimedean Hahn-Banach theorems, ultrametric Calkin algebras, -modules with a convex base, non-compact Trace class operators and Schatten-class operators in -adic Hilbert spaces, algebras of strictly differentiable functions, inverse function theorem and mean value theorem in Levi-Civita fields, ultrametric spectra of commutative non-unital Banach rings, classes of non-Archimedean Köthe spaces, -adic Nevanlinna theory and applications, and sub-coordinate representation of -adic functions. Moreover, a paper on the history of -adic analysis with a comparative summary of non-Archimedean fields is presented. Through a combination of new research articles and a survey paper, this book provides the reader with an overview of current developments and techniques in non-Archimedean analysis as well as a broad knowledge of some of the sub-areas of this exciting and fast-developing research area.

Book Digital Communication over Fading Channels

Download or read book Digital Communication over Fading Channels written by Marvin K. Simon and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2005-02-11 with total page 936 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The four short years since Digital Communication over Fading Channels became an instant classic have seen a virtual explosion of significant new work on the subject, both by the authors and by numerous researchers around the world. Foremost among these is a great deal of progress in the area of transmit diversity and space-time coding and the associated multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) channel. This new edition gathers these and other results, previously scattered throughout numerous publications, into a single convenient and informative volume. Like its predecessor, this Second Edition discusses in detail coherent and noncoherent communication systems as well as a large variety of fading channel models typical of communication links found in the real world. Coverage includes single- and multichannel reception and, in the case of the latter, a large variety of diversity types. The moment generating function (MGF)-based approach for performance analysis, introduced by the authors in the first edition and referred to in literally hundreds of publications, still represents the backbone of the book's presentation. Important features of this new edition include: * An all-new, comprehensive chapter on transmit diversity, space-time coding, and the MIMO channel, focusing on performance evaluation * Coverage of new and improved diversity schemes * Performance analyses of previously known schemes in new and different fading scenarios * A new chapter on the outage probability of cellular mobile radio systems * A new chapter on the capacity of fading channels * And much more Digital Communication over Fading Channels, Second Edition is an indispensable resource for graduate students, researchers investigating these systems, and practicing engineers responsible for evaluating their performance.
