Book Ozone Absorption in the 9 0 Micron Region

Download or read book Ozone Absorption in the 9 0 Micron Region written by Shepard Anthony Clough and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The absorption of ozone in the 9.0 micron region of the infrared spectrum, due to transitions from the ground state to the v1 and v3 states, has been studied. This report gives the numerical results of an anlysis of the spectrum including transition frequencies and perturbed intensities ordered by quantum number and by frequency. Calculated and observed special contours are included.

Book Absorption and Emission in the 8 mm Region by Ozone in the Upper Atmosphere

Download or read book Absorption and Emission in the 8 mm Region by Ozone in the Upper Atmosphere written by William M. Caton and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The absorption of solar radiation and the emission from the atmosphere (effective sky temperature) were measured over the ranges of the millimeter region corresponding to rotational lines of ozone centered at 30,056 Mhz, 36,025 Mhz, and 37,830 Mhz. The measurements were made possible by the special development of a frequency-switching radiometer and a gain-compensation technique. The contributions of ozone to atmospheric absorption and emission are evaluated from the solution of the radiative transfer equation on the basis of a line-width function of temperature and pressure and the ARDC 1959 Standard Atmosphere; the contributions of the water vapor and the oxygen are determined from the theories of Barrett and Chung for H2O and Meeks for O2. The intensity of the 37,830-Mhz line calculated by Gora was verified in a laboratory study. The width of this line was also found to coincide with the value 2340 Mhz at standard atmospheric conditions as derived by Walshaw from the 9.6-micron ozone band. Both emission and absorption of the atmospheric ozone lines were detected, with the line strengths in reasonable agreement with the model calculation. (Author).

Book Atmospheric Attenuation Model 1964 in the Ultraviolet Visible and Infrared Regions for Altitudes to 50 Km

Download or read book Atmospheric Attenuation Model 1964 in the Ultraviolet Visible and Infrared Regions for Altitudes to 50 Km written by L. Elterman and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A model of a clear standard atmosphere, for determing attenuation in the ultraviolet, the visible, and the infrared windows, is derived. The derivation is based on a Rayleigh atmosphere combined with aerosol and ozone components. The format of the model is a series of tabulations for 22 wavelengths with Rayleigh, aerosol, and ozone components arrayed at kilometer intervals to an altitude of 50 kilometers. Exploratory calculations pertaining to horizontal, vertical, and slant-path transmission from sea level, transmission between two altitudes and transmission to space are readily made from the tabulations. Because of its more extensive coverage and improved computational programming, this report, including the tabulations, fully replaces the earlier publication, 'A Model of a Clear Standard Atmosphere for Attenuation in the Visible Region and IYNFRARED Windows, ' by this author.

Book New Trends in Biochemical Physics Research

Download or read book New Trends in Biochemical Physics Research written by Sergeĭ Dmitrievich Varfolomeev and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2007 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents recent research in chemical and biochemical physics. Chemical physics addresses a large range of problems. An effective chemical physicist is a "jack-of-all-trades", able to apply the principles and techniques of the field to everything from high-tech materials to biology. Just as the fields of chemistry and physics have expanded, so have chemical physics subject areas, which include polymers, materials, surfaces/interfaces, and biological macromolecules, along with the traditional small molecule and condensed phase systems. Biochemical physics is a science that joins the three natural sciences (biology, chemistry and physics) into one comprehensive study. N.M. Emanuel pioneered this science over fifty years ago. This book brings together papers written by Emanuel's students, which reveal recent developments in this interesting field.
