All of our adult lives we search for this happiness, which seems to elude us, only prominent in our childhood. The link to peace and childhood is assumed to be an obvious one, spurred on by lack of responsibility and free schedules. Perhaps. Or perhaps it is the simple fact that nothing is more honest than a child with a curiosity for the world around them. Out the mouth of babes often come gems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Out of the Mouth of Babes: A Family’s Ultimate Challenge REVIVED is a fictional story about a couple that met in high school and became sweethearts. They were a very strong-willed, compassionate couple that came from families with extremely strong, moral backgrounds. Their families weren’t by any means rich in substance; however, they were rich with love, joy, peace, and all the things that mattered in life. After dating for a few years, they made a mutual decision to get married and through their union, they were blessed with four awesome children. They weren’t any different than the average children their age. All of them had their own unique personalities. One of the children was totally an exception to the rule, she was truly a babe. A babe is described as a very young child or even a native couple. But this couple was certain this child had a sense of “being here before.” She truly was wise beyond her years and was truly in a class all by herself. She was more advanced than her peers. How many times as adults have, we ignored a child because we classified them as a talker or presumed whatever they had on their minds was unimportant or silly? Or perhaps we were too busy doing our own thing to take a few minutes to listen. Regardless of our age, race, creed, or color, we were all created equal. Children shouldn’t be considered insufficient, little mouth pieces because they have lots of things on their minds. When these children spoke, their parents paid close attention to every word that proceeded out of their mouths. However, they were flabbergasted to hear such wisdom and knowledge flowing out of the mouth of this little babe. She was extremely outspoken, bold, and quite a visionary as you will soon see.

Book Into the Mouths of Babes

Download or read book Into the Mouths of Babes written by Deborah C. De Rosa and published by Praeger. This book was released on 2005-05-30 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While most people know that Harriet Beecher Stowe's famous book Uncle Tom's Cabin spurred on abolotionist sentiments in the North, not many are aware of the vast abolitionist literature of children's books, poems, short stories, and essays. Many of these volumes were not written by seasoned authors, but by women whose primary roles were as mothers who functioned as domestic abolitionists, and have been lost to the ages. Here, De Rosa recovers a collection of these writings, illustrating the domestic abolitionists' efforts While most people know that Harriet Beecher Stowe's famous book Uncle Tom's Cabin spurred on abolitionist sentiments in the North, not many are aware of the fast abolitionist literature of children's books, poems, short stories, and essays. Many of these volumes were written by domestic women, not seasoned authors, and have been lost to the ages. Here, De Rosa recovers a collection of these writings, illustrating the domestic abolitionists' efforts when cultural imperatives demanded women's silence. These women asserted their anti-slavery sentiments through the voices of victims (slave children and mothers), white mother-historians, and abolitionist children in juvenile literature, one of the few genres available to female authors of the period. This collection restores the voices of these little known authors and shows how their voices helped to influence children and adults of the period. For women struggling to find a voice in the abolitionist movement while maintaining the codes of gender and respectability, writing children's literature was an acceptable strategy to counteract the opposition. By seizing the opportunity to write abolitionist juvenile literature, domestic abolitionists maintained their identities as exemplary mother-educators, preserved their claims to femininity, and simultaneously entered the public arena. By adapting literary strategies popular in nineteenth-century juvenile narratives, domestic novels, and slave narratives to document slavery's violation of religious, economic, and political principles, these women spoke out against and institution that stood in marked contrast to the beliefs they held so dear. This anthology aims to fill the important gap in our understanding of women's literary productions about race and gender and illustrates the limitations of a canon that excludes such voices.

Book excerpt: Breastfeeding: New Anthropological Approaches unites sociocultural, biological, and archaeological anthropological scholarship to spark new conversations and research about breastfeeding. While breastfeeding has become the subject of intense debate in many settings, anthropological perspectives have played a limited role in these conversations. The present volume seeks to broaden discussions around breastfeeding by showcasing fresh insights gleaned from an array of theoretical and methodological approaches, which are grounded in the close study of people across the globe. Drawing on case studies and analyses of key issues in the field, the book highlights the power of anthropological research to illuminate the evolutionary, historical, biological, and sociocultural context of the complex, lived experience of breastfeeding. By bringing together researchers across three anthropological subfields, the volume seeks to produce transformative knowledge about human lactation, breastfeeding, and human milk. This book is a key resource for scholars of medical and biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, bioarchaeology, sociocultural anthropology, and human development. Lactation professionals and peer supporters, midwives, and others who support infant feeding will find the book an essential read.

Book Out of the Mouths of Babes

Download or read book Out of the Mouths of Babes written by Dyan Eybergen and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-09-08 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a registered nurse working with psychiatric children and adolescents, Dyan Eybergen thought she was trained to handle just about every behavioral situationuntil she had her own children. Nothing had prepared her for the intensity of the relationships she would share with her sonsthe profound love she would have, the anger she would sometimes feel toward them and, of course, the guilt. For those who have struggled with parenting strategies that have failed or worked for one child but not another, Out of the Mouths of Babes offers a unique parenting approach tailored to working with the personalities of individual children. While guiding parents to uncover successful solutions to such frustrating child-rearing dilemmas as sleeping through the night, toilet training, and sibling rivalry, Eybergen also helps parents teach their children to feel empowered to acquire new skills, problem solve, manage conflict, and develop a healthy self-esteem. Through stories and experiences taken from her own life, Dyan Eybergen offers a common sense approach to parenting that gives alternatives to the one-size fits-all paradigm of raising children.

Book Disciples Literal New Testament

Download or read book Disciples Literal New Testament written by Michael Magill and published by Reyma Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If You Love God's Word You Will Love This New Testament! The Disciples' Literal New Testament sets you free from our artificial 460 year old chapter and verse structure, replacing it with paragraphing that reflects the flow of thought in the original Greek writings. Paragraph headings make that flow of thought explicit to you, speeding your understanding of the NT books. This translation retains the writing style of the apostles themselves, rather than transforming their Greek ways of writing into an elegant or contemporary English writing style, as has been beautifully done so many times. It is the same translation as the author's New Testament TransLine, first published by Zondervan in 2002. Now you can read the New Testament as the original writers intended it, and see it with a clarity formerly available only to those who could carefully study their Greek New Testament. You can even see the difference in writing style between Matthew, Mark and Luke! Used along with your standard Bible version, you will profit from both methods of translation. *Easily grasp the relationship of the whole and the parts of each book with the big-picture overview outlines that use the words of the original author. *Gain quick insight into the flow of thought from descriptive paragraph headings that summarize the main point of each paragraph in its context. *You can visually follow the apostles' thinking because the 'Intelligent Paragraphing' visually displays their main and subordinate thoughts. *The hindrance to your understanding caused by our artificial chapter and verse structure is eliminated by paragraphing based on the Greek writings. *You will more fully appreciate the minds and thinking patterns and intent of the original writers because the translation corresponds more closely to their words and their grammar and their sentence structure. *Deepen and expand your understanding of the New Testament by meditating on the notes containing alternative renderings, explanations of what is being said, and different views of the meaning.
