Book OTHERWISE Crystal of Questions

Download or read book OTHERWISE Crystal of Questions written by Claudia Daneu and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-08-09 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Claudia Daneu (philosopher and pianist), aims at guiding the readers to fields that are accessible only by a profound view. Through several and diverse ways, many questions of transcendent essence are treated here under literary forms. The ways traced out may well be divided into four directions. First, the obstacles that cause personal affliction, but can be overcome. Second, the difficulties (both individual and social) of universal order, which offer toilsome resistance though are not insoluble. Third, all the inexorable and irreversible concerning the existence. And fourth, the attitudes denoting a great spiritual growth which, undertaking grief, evil, and the irreversible, go far beyond, raise a living happiness, and are attached only to love, goodness, and truth. It is up to the reader to draw conclusions, to make renewed reflections, and to have their own modes of looking upon these questions.

Book Macromolecular Crystallography

Download or read book Macromolecular Crystallography written by Mark R. Sanderson and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2007-08-23 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Macromolecular Crystallography is the study of macromolecules (proteins and nucleic acids) using X-ray crystallographic techniques in order to determine their molecular structure. The knowledge of accurate molecular structures is a pre-requisite for rational drug design, and for structure-based function studies to aid the development of effective therapeutic agents and drugs. The successful determination of the complete genome (genetic sequence) of several species (including humans) has recently directed scientific attention towards identifying the structure and function of the complete complement of proteins that make up that species; a new and rapidly growing field of study called 'structural genomics'. There are now several important and well-funded global initiatives in operation to identify all of the proteins of key model species. One of the main requirements for these initiatives is a high-throughput crystallization facility to speed-up the protein identification process. The extent to which these technologies have advanced, calls for an updated review of current crystallographic theory and practice. This practical reference book features the latest conventional and high-throughput methods, and includes contributions from a team of internationally recognized leaders and experts. It will be of relevance and use to graduate students, research scientists and professionals currently working in the field of conventional and high-throughput macromolecular crystallography.

  • Pages : 450 pages

Download or read book Gaia Speaks written by Pepper Lewis and published by Light Technology Publishing. This book was released on 2007-05-01 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pepper Lewis is a natural intuitive, a gifted full-body channel and a recognized writer, speaker and teacher of metaphysics, who travels the world sharing Gaia's wisdom at conferences, seminars, and in personal sessions. The unique and distinctive channeled messages brought forth by Pepper have become favorites of readers all over the world. Most popular are the featured articles authored by the sentience of our planet, Mother Earth, affectionately known as Gaia, which also appear in the pages of the monthly Sedona Journal of Emergence and in these books. "Gaia has always been animated, engaging and even humorous. That being said, she is also very direct and does not diminish her words to suit a guest. She aims directly for our hearts and rarely misses. Her energy is just as you might imagine the Earth to be: youthful and ancient, strong and elemental, soft, innocent and pristine, refined but a little rough around the edges. Gaia's voice is different than my own, and her use of language is altogether her own. Most people hear a dialect but cannot place it. Everyone seems to experience her in unique and different ways---which, not surprisingly, is her intention."--- Pepper Lewis "These days there are lots of channelers around, but only one Pepper Lewis. Her process with Gaia is unique, and the profundity of her messages rings with truth and the wisdom of the ages."--- Lee Carroll, channel for Kryon The book you now hold is like a mystery that will unfold as you read it. More than a collection of pages, you will find that it is one part textbook and one part oracle. You might even wonder if it is biographical or autobiographical in nature, as the coincidental references to your own life will seem almost uncanny. How can that be? Gaia is a living/learning/teaching library of everything that is, was or might be related to the Earth. Because you are Gaian, you are also'a part of the great living library that is. Gaia; you are a library within Gaia,' one whose contents are a collection of ever-unfolding experiences. You are a lifetimes-old master storyteller, unraveling each tantalizing chapter. That ts why you cannot help but find yourself within these pages. Your purposes are made of multidimensional similes and metaphors designed to stimulate, encourage, create and resolve. As Gaia tells it, you have at least seven purposes or reasons for being. You instinctively (consciously or unconsciously) know one or more of these, but others may remain hidden for many years or even throughout your entire lives. Given this expanded view of what you are and why you are here, you can begin to see how this book might be of use to you.

Book All the Light We Cannot See

Download or read book All the Light We Cannot See written by Anthony Doerr and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: *NOW A NETFLIX LIMITED SERIES—from producer and director Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) starring Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie, and newcomer Aria Mia Loberti* Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award finalist, the beloved instant New York Times bestseller and New York Times Book Review Top 10 Book about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II. Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is twelve, the Nazis occupy Paris, and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel. In a mining town in Germany, the orphan Werner grows up with his younger sister, enchanted by a crude radio they find. Werner becomes an expert at building and fixing these crucial new instruments, a talent that wins him a place at a brutal academy for Hitler Youth, then a special assignment to track the Resistance. More and more aware of the human cost of his intelligence, Werner travels through the heart of the war and, finally, into Saint-Malo, where his story and Marie-Laure’s converge. Doerr’s “stunning sense of physical detail and gorgeous metaphors” (San Francisco Chronicle) are dazzling. Deftly interweaving the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner, he illuminates the ways, against all odds, people try to be good to one another. Ten years in the writing, All the Light We Cannot See is a magnificent, deeply moving novel from a writer “whose sentences never fail to thrill” (Los Angeles Times).
