Book Fractional Factorial Plans

Download or read book Fractional Factorial Plans written by Aloke Dey and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-09-25 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A one-stop reference to fractional factorials and relatedorthogonal arrays. Presenting one of the most dynamic areas of statistical research, this book offers a systematic, rigorous, and up-to-date treatmentof fractional factorial designs and related combinatorialmathematics. Leading statisticians Aloke Dey and Rahul Mukerjeeconsolidate vast amounts of material from the professionalliterature--expertly weaving fractional replication, orthogonalarrays, and optimality aspects. They develop the basic theory offractional factorials using the calculus of factorial arrangements, thereby providing a unified approach to the study of fractionalfactorial plans. An indispensable guide for statisticians inresearch and industry as well as for graduate students, FractionalFactorial Plans features: * Construction procedures of symmetric and asymmetric orthogonalarrays. * Many up-to-date research results on nonexistence. * A chapter on optimal fractional factorials not based onorthogonal arrays. * Trend-free plans, minimum aberration plans, and search andsupersaturated designs. * Numerous examples and extensive references.

Book Fractional Factorial Designs for Estimating Main Effects Orthogonal to Two factor Interactions

Download or read book Fractional Factorial Designs for Estimating Main Effects Orthogonal to Two factor Interactions written by Jagdish Narain Srivastava and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fractional factorial designs are considered of the (3 superscript n) and (2 superscript m) x (3 superscript n) series, and of resolution IV, i.e. where one desires to estimate only the main effects but the 2- factor interactions are not negligible. Such designs are needed both for uniresponse and multiresponse experiments. The presently known designs are usually of uneconomic size and therefore cumbersome. Here it is shown that for the 3n series, a necessary and sufficient condition that a design be of resolution IV (i.e. where main effects are estimable orthogonal to other effects) is that it be an orthogonal array of strength 3. Similar conditions are obtained for the (2 superscript m) x (3 superscript n) series. (Author).

Download or read book Fractional Factorial Designs in the Form of Incomplete Orthogonal Arrays written by A. S. Hedayat and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper we study certain fractional factorial designs, which are known in the literature as incomplete orthogonal arrays. We indicate situations in which these designs can be of practical interest and study both some of their mathematical, as well as statistical properties.

Book A Comprehensive Guide to Factorial Two Level Experimentation

Download or read book A Comprehensive Guide to Factorial Two Level Experimentation written by Robert Mee and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-06-23 with total page 553 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the most comprehensive coverage available anywhere for two-level factorial designs. The re-analysis of 50 published examples serves as a how-to guide for analysis of the many types of full factorial and fractional factorial designs. By focusing on two-level designs, this book is accessible to a wide audience of practitioners who use planned experiments.

Book Theory of Factorial Design

Download or read book Theory of Factorial Design written by Ching-Shui Cheng and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-04-19 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bringing together both new and old results, Theory of Factorial Design: Single- and Multi-Stratum Experiments provides a rigorous, systematic, and up-to-date treatment of the theoretical aspects of factorial design. To prepare readers for a general theory, the author first presents a unified treatment of several simple designs, including completely randomized designs, block designs, and row-column designs. As such, the book is accessible to readers with minimal exposure to experimental design. With exercises and numerous examples, it is suitable as a reference for researchers and as a textbook for advanced graduate students. In addition to traditional topics and a thorough discussion of the popular minimum aberration criterion, the book covers many topics and new results not found in existing books. These include results on the structures of two-level resolution IV designs, methods for constructing such designs beyond the familiar foldover method, the extension of minimum aberration to nonregular designs, the equivalence of generalized minimum aberration and minimum moment aberration, a Bayesian approach, and some results on nonregular designs. The book also presents a theory that provides a unifying framework for the design and analysis of factorial experiments with multiple strata (error terms) arising from complicated structures of the experimental units. This theory can be systematically applied to various structures of experimental units instead of treating each on a case-by-case basis.
