Book What is the Relationship Between Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction to Organizational Commitment in Supply Chain Management

Download or read book What is the Relationship Between Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction to Organizational Commitment in Supply Chain Management written by Phaylinh "Tia" Nosavan Prang and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Middle East, one of the biggest challenges facing supply chain business leaders was the expatriate assignment failures, an average turnover rate of 12%, with the main reason an inability to cope with lifestyle adjustments due to cultural and family pressures. Additionally, fifty-one percent of expatriates leave the multinational corporation (MNC) within two years of repatriation (De Ruiter, Lub, Jansma, and Blomme, 2018; Haak-Saheem, Darwish, & Al-Nasser, 2017; Stoermer, Haslberger, Froese, & Kraeh, 2018). The Middle Eastern workforce showed the disproportionate ratio of expatriates to local nationals in which nearly 99% of employees in the private sector in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were expatriates (De Ruiter et al., 2018 & Haak-Saheem et al., 2017). The purpose of this quantitative correlation study is to examine the relationship between independent variables (employee engagement-EE and job satisfaction-JS), and dependent variable (organizational commitment-OC) in the supply chain managers of the Middle East organization. The findings of this study showed that there are statistically significant relationships among EE, JS, and OC, indicating the p-values lower than the alpha level of 0.05 for all variables. The findings also showed that age does have a moderating effect on the relationship between EE and OC, Beta = 0.115, p = 0.049, but not in the relationship between JS and OC. Conversely, gender, nationality, and tenure showed no moderation effect in the relationships among EE, JS, and OC. Recommendations to increase both EE and JS are (1) increase EE through organizational culture, gender-balanced management teams, self-efficacy, work-life balance, and a supportive work environment, and (2) increase JS through effective communication, employee development, rewards and recognition, and supervisor support.

Book Job Satisfaction Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intentions Among Lebanese Workers

Download or read book Job Satisfaction Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intentions Among Lebanese Workers written by Yasmine Riad Kawwa and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intentions are some of the most important work attitudes studied in the work literature. This project examines the levels of these work attitudes among Lebanese workers, and their re lationships with some demographic variables. One may ask whether the Lebanese wo rkers are satisfied with their jobs and committed to the organizations they work for, and whether such issues really matter. Several studies presented throughou t this project conclude that job satisfaction ultimately leads to a better firm performance since it is positively related to labor productivity and negatively associated with labor turnover. The study gave support to some of the hypotheses that lead us to conclude that m anagers should not be biased in their recruitment efforts towards males or singl e employees since the study did not show significant differences concerning sati sfaction, commitment, or turnover between males and females and between single e mployees and married ones. The results of this paper also stress on the importan ce of sustaining and improving affective, normative, and continuance commitment, as well as job satisfaction in addressing turnover intentions among Lebanese wo rkers. Future research must address this issue by resorting to longitudinal methods, an d using other behavioral outcomes of job satisfaction and organizational commitm ent. Moreover, more research must be conducted in Lebanon first among other and more general criteria of respondents and second to know whether such research re sults are similar to those of other Arab countries. The paper also identified la ck of research done in Lebanon to identify the causes of employee satisfaction, kinds of commitment, and turnover.
