Book Information Modeling of Organizations

Download or read book Information Modeling of Organizations written by Vaclav Repa and published by Tomáš Bruckner. This book was released on 2012-10 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the information modeling of organizations in the widest sense possible. This term express the general meaning of the term "organizational modeling" with the light flavor of informatics practices rather than just the IS or IT view of the organization. Although the topic of the cognition of organizational structure and behavior traditionally belongs to the management theory; informatics brings to this area the necessary exactness in the shape of formal specifications and a systemic style of thinking. Informatics is a source of sophisticated techniques and tools, aimed on discovering the general regularities of the organizational structure and behavior (often called "business rules") with the ability to abstract all non-contentual aspects of the organizational system. Information technology, on the other hand, is a key enabler of organizational changes as it is established in all literature mentioning the theory of business reengineering. Consequently, the well designed Information System must be a clear picture of all substantial aspects of the organization (both the structural and the behavioral ones). Information modeling aims to create the view of the organization which is, on the one hand independent of any non-contentual aspect (including the information technology at first); on the other it is fully consistent with following the process of the development of the Information System (i.e., the infrastructure in general). The book introduces the methodology for modeling the business system based on two complementary views which covers both ontology and business process model of the organization using standard languages UML and BPMN and including tools for ensuring the consistency of both models. The book also outlines the original methodology for service-oriented building of the process managed organization and discusses the problem of the process-oriented management in the field of public administration.

Book Networked Scaled and Agile

Download or read book Networked Scaled and Agile written by Amy Kates and published by Kogan Page Publishers. This book was released on 2021-03-03 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While technology and geopolitical forces change the face of business today, the patterns and challenges of organizing humans to work together across organization, culture, language and time zone boundaries remain. To face these challenges, all organizations need to be agile, networked and scalable. Networked, Scaled, and Agile reveals how to shape organizations that will enable people to make faster and better decisions in a more complex world. By outlining the tension between the need for agility/differentiation and scale/integration, the book offers a new way to think about this debate using the models of the Tower (vertical integration) and the Square (horizontal integration). It addresses the role of the leadership team and how the organization design process can build C-suite leaders and successors. Each chapter concludes with a series of reflection questions for leaders as well as a summary of key concepts and tips. Including case studies from global organizations, Networked, Scaled, and Agile reveals how organization design can address three of the biggest business challenges organizations face today: how to build a new capability across the entire enterprise; how to make the entire organization more customer-centric; and how to allow for faster innovation.

Book Team of Teams

Download or read book Team of Teams written by Gen. Stanley McChrystal and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2015-05-12 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the New York Times bestselling author of My Share of the Task and Leaders, a manual for leaders looking to make their teams more adaptable, agile, and unified in the midst of change. When General Stanley McChrystal took command of the Joint Special Operations Task Force in 2004, he quickly realized that conventional military tactics were failing. Al Qaeda in Iraq was a decentralized network that could move quickly, strike ruthlessly, then seemingly vanish into the local population. The allied forces had a huge advantage in numbers, equipment, and training—but none of that seemed to matter. To defeat Al Qaeda, they would have to combine the power of the world’s mightiest military with the agility of the world’s most fearsome terrorist network. They would have to become a "team of teams"—faster, flatter, and more flexible than ever. In Team of Teams, McChrystal and his colleagues show how the challenges they faced in Iraq can be relevant to countless businesses, nonprofits, and organizations today. In periods of unprecedented crisis, leaders need practical management practices that can scale to thousands of people—and fast. By giving small groups the freedom to experiment and share what they learn across the entire organization, teams can respond more quickly, communicate more freely, and make better and faster decisions. Drawing on compelling examples—from NASA to hospital emergency rooms—Team of Teams makes the case for merging the power of a large corporation with the agility of a small team to transform any organization.

Book Leadership in Non profit Organization The Church Model

Download or read book Leadership in Non profit Organization The Church Model written by Dr. Vinay Rananaware and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-04-22 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is accepted that Church has contributed a lot in the Management and Administration. Christian Priests or the church leaders, particularly the Protestant Church leaders - Pastors as they are called - have to play a vital role in the development of church business. In some protestant churches, this leadership is of two tiers - one is of pastoral leadership and the second is of lay leadership. A pastor is a person meant to be an administrator while taking religious care of the congregation. Lay-leaders, Elders as they are called, relate with the administrative work of the Church. Both of them form a 'church committee' to take care of the church and to see the development of the congregation i.e. the church members. So the congregation can flourish with the enrichment and dynamism of the church leadership.

This book was released on 2007-07-05 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The EFQM Excellence Model was introduced at the beginning of 1992 as the framework for assessing organizations for the annual European Excellence Award . It is now the most widely used organizational assessment framework in Europe. Most users have no intention of applying to win awards; they use the framework and analysis techniques within the model as diagnostic tools that will help them to: assess the health of their organization, identify its strengths and areas for improvement and periodically measure progress identify and share good management practices, both internally and externally anticipate and target their desired results in tangible, measurable ways Whether you are a newcomer to the Excellence Model, or an experienced user (whose techniques of performance assessment maybe rigorous but have possibly evolved to become overly complex), this Management Guide provides you with practical techniques to undertake timely and effective assessments. It explains the history, basis and evolution of the EFQM Excellence Model, the nature of EFQM and its networks today, and, most importantly, provides step-by-step guidance, together with a series of analysis pro-formas, to enable readers to facilitate an assessment of an organization against each of the 32 elements ( criterion parts ) of the EFQM Excellence Model.
