This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If one were forced to use a single key word to describe the decade of the 1980's, a very prominent one would be "technology. " Leading the forefront of tech nology advancement were breakthroughs in electronics. Devices that were uncommon or unknown in 1980 became commonplace, and almost indispens able, by 1989. This trend has continued into the 1990's and it does not seem to be abating in any way. Microwave ovens, video recorders, telephone answer ing machines, compact disc players, computers, and a host of smaller or less sophisticated devices now appear in most households. The development of small and inexpensive computers, i. e. , personal computers, has placed computing resources within reach of many more people. In addition, many traditional, and largely mechanical devices, have been enhanced by electronics. For example, specialized microprocessors are combined with arrays of electronic sensors to control and monitor sophisticated engineering components in most new auto mobiles. In this and many other ways, we are touched by the new electronics in almost every aspect of our daily lives. Initially, personal computers were little more than toys. They contained only a small fraction of the computing power of their immediate ancestors, the mini computers and mainframe computers. However, rapid improvements in integ rated circuit design and chip manufacture produced regular reductions in size and cost of computer components. During the same time, processor speed and sophistication increased.

Book Advanced Modeling of Management Processes in Information Technology

Download or read book Advanced Modeling of Management Processes in Information Technology written by Zdzislaw Kowalczuk and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-10-14 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the issues of modelling management processes of information technology and IT projects while its core is the model of information technology management and its component models (contextual, local) describing initial processing and the maturity capsule as well as a decision-making system represented by a multi-level sequential model of IT technology selection, which acquires a fuzzy rule-based implementation in this work. In terms of applicability, this work may also be useful for diagnosing applicability of IT standards in evaluation of IT organizations. The results of this diagnosis might prove valid for those preparing new standards so that – apart from their own visions – they could, to an even greater extent, take into account the capabilities and needs of the leaders of project and manufacturing teams. The book is intended for IT professionals using the ITIL, COBIT and TOGAF standards in their work. Students of computer science and management who are interested in the issue of IT project and technology management are also likely to benefit from this study. For young students of IT, it can serve as a source of knowledge in the field of information technology evaluation. This book is also designed for specialists in modelling socio-technical systems.

Book AI Management System Certification According to the ISO IEC 42001 Standard

Download or read book AI Management System Certification According to the ISO IEC 42001 Standard written by Sid Ahmed Benraouane and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-06-24 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book guides the reader through the auditing and compliance process of the newly released ISO Artificial Intelligence standard. It provides tools and best practices on how to put together an AI management system that is certifiable and sheds light on ethical and legal challenges business leaders struggle with to make their AI system comply with existing laws and regulations, and the ethical framework of the organization. The book is unique because it provides implementation guidance on the new certification and conformity assessment process required by the new ISO Standard on Artificial Intelligence (ISO 42001:2023 Artificial Intelligence Management System) published by ISO in August 2023. This is the first book that addresses this issue. As a member of the US/ISO team who participated in the drafting of this standard during the last 3 years, the author has direct knowledge and insights that are critical to the implementation of the standard. He explains the context of how to interpret ISO clauses, gives examples and guidelines, and provides best practices that help compliance managers and senior leadership understand how to put together the AI compliance system to certify their AI system. The reader will find in the book a complete guide to the certification process of AI systems and the conformity assessment required by the standard. It also provides guidance on how to read the new EU AI Act and some of the U.S. legislations, such as NYC Local Law 144, enacted in July 2023. This is the first book that helps the reader create an internal auditing program that enhances the company’s AI compliance framework. Generative AI has taken the world by storm, and currently, there is no international standard that provides guidance on how to put together a management system that helps business leaders address issues of AI governance, AI structure, AI risk, AI audit, and AI impact analysis. ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the first international mandatory and certifiable standard that provides a comprehensive and well-integrated framework for the issue of AI governance. This book provides a step-by-step process on how to implement the standard so the AI system can pass the ISO accreditation process.
