Download or read book Ordonnancement d ateliers sous contraintes de disponibilit des machines written by Riad Aggoune and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2005 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Ordonnancement d atelier avec contraintes temporelles entre op rations written by Freddy Deppner and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2009 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Time Dependent Scheduling written by Stanislaw Gawiejnowicz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-09-26 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time-dependent scheduling involves problems in which the processing times of jobs depend on when those jobs are started. This book is a comprehensive study of complexity results and optimal and suboptimal algorithms concerning time-dependent scheduling in single-, parallel- and dedicated-machine environments. In addition to complexity issues and exact or heuristic algorithms which are typically presented in scheduling books, the author also includes more advanced topics such as matrix methods in time-dependent scheduling, and time-dependent scheduling with two criteria. The reader should be familiar with basic notions of calculus, discrete mathematics and combinatorial optimization theory, while the book offers introductory material on NP-complete problems, and the basics of scheduling theory. The author includes numerous examples, figures and tables, he presents different classes of algorithms using pseudocode, and he completes the book with an extensive bibliography, and author, symbol and subject indexes. The book is suitable for researchers working on scheduling, problem complexity, optimization, heuristics and local search algorithms.

Book Multiple Criteria Optimization

Download or read book Multiple Criteria Optimization written by Xavier Gandibleux and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 515 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The generalized area of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) can be defined as the body of methods and procedures by which the concern for multiple conflicting criteria can be formally incorporated into the analytical process. MCDM consists mostly of two branches, multiple criteria optimization and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). While MCDA is typically concerned with multiple criteria problems that have a small number of alternatives often in an environment of uncertainty (location of an airport, type of drug rehabilitation program), multiple criteria optimization is typically directed at problems formulated within a mathematical programming framework, but with a stack of objectives instead of just one (river basin management, engineering component design, product distribution). It is about the most modern treatment of multiple criteria optimization that this book is concerned. I look at this book as a nicely organized and well-rounded presentation of what I view as ”new wave” topics in multiple criteria optimization. Looking back to the origins of MCDM, most people agree that it was not until about the early 1970s that multiple criteria optimization c- gealed as a field. At this time, and for about the following fifteen years, the focus was on theories of multiple objective linear programming that subsume conventional (single criterion) linear programming, algorithms for characterizing the efficient set, theoretical vector-maximum dev- opments, and interactive procedures.

Book Recent Advances in Global Optimization

Download or read book Recent Advances in Global Optimization written by Christodoulos A. Floudas and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will present the papers delivered at the first U.S. conference devoted exclusively to global optimization and will thus provide valuable insights into the significant research on the topic that has been emerging during recent years. Held at Princeton University in May 1991, the conference brought together an interdisciplinary group of the most active developers of algorithms for global optimization in order to focus the attention of the mathematical programming community on the unsolved problems and diverse applications of this field. The main subjects addressed at the conference were advances in deterministic and stochastic methods for global optimization, parallel algorithms for global optimization problems, and applications of global optimization. Although global optimization is primarily a mathematical problem, it is relevant to several other disciplines, including computer science, applied mathematics, physical chemistry, molecular biology, statistics, physics, engineering, operations research, communication theory, and economics. Global optimization problems originate from a wide variety of mathematical models of real-world systems. Some of its applications are allocation and location problems and VLSI and data-base design problems. Originally published in 1991. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Book Human Performance in Planning and Scheduling

Download or read book Human Performance in Planning and Scheduling written by B L MacCarthy and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-09-02 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding how to make the best of human skills and knowledge is essential in the design of technology and jobs, particularly where these involve decision-making and uncertainty. Recent developments have been made in naturalistic decision-making, distributed cognition and situational awareness, particularly with respect to aviation, transport and strategic planning, the nuclear industry and other high-risk industries. Despite the integration of computer-based support systems in production scheduling in recent years, the reality is that most enterprises consist of reactive re-scheduling, involving a high degree of human involvement. It is often with the insight, knowledge and skills of people that scheduling skills can function with any degree of success. Human Performance in Planning and Scheduling covers many industries, including clothing, steel, machine tools, paper/board, and the automobile industry. Using international case studies from various manufacturing industries, they highlight the fact that the human scheduler is a pivotal element in the scheduling process. Each section of the book includes an introduction with an overview of the material to follow, clearly identifying themes, discussion points and highlights inter-connections between the authors' work.
