Book Ordinary and Fractional Approximation by Non additive Integrals Choquet Shilkret and Sugeno Integral Approximators

Download or read book Ordinary and Fractional Approximation by Non additive Integrals Choquet Shilkret and Sugeno Integral Approximators written by George A. Anastassiou and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-12-07 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ordinary and fractional approximations by non-additive integrals, especially by integral approximators of Choquet, Silkret and Sugeno types, are a new trend in approximation theory. These integrals are only subadditive and only the first two are positive linear, and they produce very fast and flexible approximations based on limited data. The author presents both the univariate and multivariate cases. The involved set functions are much weaker forms of the Lebesgue measure and they were conceived to fulfill the needs of economic theory and other applied sciences. The approaches presented here are original, and all chapters are self-contained and can be read independently. Moreover, the book’s findings are sure to find application in many areas of pure and applied mathematics, especially in approximation theory, numerical analysis and mathematical economics (both ordinary and fractional). Accordingly, it offers a unique resource for researchers, graduate students, and for coursework in the above-mentioned fields, and belongs in all science and engineering libraries.

Book Parametrized Deformed and General Neural Networks

Download or read book Parametrized Deformed and General Neural Networks written by George A. Anastassiou and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-29 with total page 854 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, we introduce the parametrized, deformed and general activation function of neural networks. The parametrized activation function kills much less neurons than the original one. The asymmetry of the brain is best expressed by deformed activation functions. Along with a great variety of activation functions, general activation functions are also engaged. Thus, in this book, all presented is original work by the author given at a very general level to cover a maximum number of different kinds of neural networks: giving ordinary, fractional, fuzzy and stochastic approximations. It presents here univariate, fractional and multivariate approximations. Iterated sequential multi-layer approximations are also studied. The functions under approximation and neural networks are Banach space valued.

Book Quantitative Approximation

Download or read book Quantitative Approximation written by Ronald A. Devore and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantitative Approximation provides information pertinent to nonlinear approximation, including rational approximation and optimal knot spline approximation. This book discusses spline approximation with the most emphasis on multivariate and knot independent questions. Organized into 26 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the inequality for the sharp function in terms of the maximal rearrangement. This text then examines the best co-approximation in a Hilbert space wherein the existence ad uniqueness sets are the closed flats. Other chapters consider the inverse of the coefficient matrix for the system satisfied by the B-spline coefficients of the cubic spline interpolant at knots. This book discusses as well the relationship between the structural properties of a function and its degree of approximation by rational functions. The final chapter deals with the problem of existence of continuous selections for metric projections and provides a solution for this problem. This book is a valuable resource for mathematicians.

Book Kindergarten of Fractional Calculus

Download or read book Kindergarten of Fractional Calculus written by Shantanu Das and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2020-02-18 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a simplified deliberation of fractional calculus, which will appeal not only to beginners, but also to various applied science mathematicians and engineering researchers. The text develops the ideas behind this new field of mathematics, beginning at the most elementary level, before discussing its actual applications in different areas of science and engineering. This book shows that the simple, classical laws based on Newtonian calculus, which work quite well under limiting and idealized conditions, are not of much use in describing the dynamics of actual systems. As such, the application of non-Newtonian, or generalized, calculus in the governing equations, allows the order of differentiation and integration to take on non-integer values.

Book Nature s Patterns and the Fractional Calculus

Download or read book Nature s Patterns and the Fractional Calculus written by Bruce J. West and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2017-09-11 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complexity increases with increasing system size in everything from organisms to organizations. The nonlinear dependence of a system’s functionality on its size, by means of an allometry relation, is argued to be a consequence of their joint dependency on complexity (information). In turn, complexity is proven to be the source of allometry and to provide a new kind of force entailed by a system‘s information gradient. Based on first principles, the scaling behavior of the probability density function is determined by the exact solution to a set of fractional differential equations. The resulting lowest order moments in system size and functionality gives rise to the empirical allometry relations. Taking examples from various topics in nature, the book is of interest to researchers in applied mathematics, as well as, investigators in the natural, social, physical and life sciences. The first chapter begins with an introduction to fractional calculus moving on to discuss fractional integrals, fractional derivatives, fractional differential equations and their solutions. Multivariable calculus is covered in the second chapter and introduces the fundamentals of multivariable calculus (multivariable functions, limits and continuity, differentiability, directional derivatives and expansions of multivariable functions). Illustrative examples, input-output process, optimal recovery of functions and approximations are given; each section lists an ample number of exercises to heighten understanding of the material. Chapter three discusses deterministic/mathematical and optimization models evolving from differential equations, difference equations, algebraic models, power function models, input-output models and pathway models. Fractional integral and derivative models are examined. Chapter four covers non-deterministic/stochastic models. The random walk model, branching process model, birth and death process model, time series models, and regression type models are examined. The fifth chapter covers optimal design. General linear models from a statistical point of view are introduced; the Gauss–Markov theorem, quadratic forms, and generalized inverses of matrices are covered. Pathway, symmetric, and asymmetric models are covered in chapter six, the concepts are illustrated with graphs.

Book Lie Symmetry Analysis of Fractional Differential Equations

Download or read book Lie Symmetry Analysis of Fractional Differential Equations written by Mir Sajjad Hashemi and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The trajectory of fractional calculus has undergone several periods of intensive development, both in pure and applied sciences. During the last few decades fractional calculus has also been associated with the power law effects and its various applications. It is a natural to ask if fractional calculus, as a nonlocal calculus, can produce new results within the well-established field of Lie symmetries and their applications. In Lie Symmetry Analysis of Fractional Differential Equations the authors try to answer this vital question by analyzing different aspects of fractional Lie symmetries and related conservation laws. Finding the exact solutions of a given fractional partial differential equation is not an easy task, but is one that the authors seek to grapple with here. The book also includes generalization of Lie symmetries for fractional integro differential equations. Features Provides a solid basis for understanding fractional calculus, before going on to explore in detail Lie Symmetries and their applications Useful for PhD and postdoc graduates, as well as for all mathematicians and applied researchers who use the powerful concept of Lie symmetries Filled with various examples to aid understanding of the topics
