Download or read book Ministry Protocol written by Diego Mesa and published by Christian Living Books, Inc.. This book was released on with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Churches today are characterized by problems, errors, and frustrations resulting from misunderstandings, misinterpretations, negligence, ignorance, and naiveté. It is a lack of protocol within the church itself as well as the body of Christ that has weakened the church in this way. Wouldn’t it be great if we could minimize these types of problems? That is sure to happen with the assistance of Pastor Mesa. Ministry Protocol is a gold mine of valuable guidelines, including many “nuggets of truth,” for the church and its members to help both restore and maintain order—God’s order. From finances to etiquette to respect, Diego Mesa imparts wisdom from his thirty years’ pastoral experience. Church members will learn to improve relationships, and have understanding, accountability, and responsibility. The church will gain productivity, a firm direction, and a unified purpose. That ultimate purpose is to tear down the kingdom of darkness and win souls for Christ.

Download or read book Lay Ecclesial Ministry written by Seton Hall University and published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. This book was released on 2010-10-16 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The role of lay ecclesial ministers—professionally prepared laity who serve in leadership roles—is becoming critically more important in the life of the Catholic church. In Lay Ecclesial Ministry, theologians and pastoral leaders from diverse disciplines provide a deeper understanding, envision future direction, and offer inspiration for these new ministers and the community of the church. Building on the themes of the first official document addressing lay ecclesial ministry, Co-workers in the Vineyard of the Lord, approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2005, this book delves deeply into key topics. Authors reflect on dimensions of the Catholic tradition to enrich our understanding of this new reality of lay ministry in the church, to envision future developments, and to offer inspiration. Contributors draw on a variety of theological perspectives, including canon law, church history, ecclesiology, liturgy, and scripture, to ground understanding of lay ecclesial ministry within the Catholic tradition and to chart direction for further response to this newly emergent ministry. The book also offers inspiration and models of service to lay ministers, looking to stories of the saints and communities of vowed religious. Lay Ecclesial Ministry is an essential resource for the Catholic community in understanding and building upon this new and increasingly important component of church life.

Download or read book Mission Ministry Order written by David Noel Power and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2008-06-01 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the mission of the church? What are the ministries that futher its mission? How should the traditional orders of bishop/overseer, priest/presbyter, and deacon be reconsidered in the light of 21st century challenges and ecumenical unity? These big questions involve a constellation of neuralgic issues both within the Roman Catholic Church and between it and its sister churches, both East and West: women priests, women bishops, married priests, lay ministries, the unaccountability of bishops to their flocks. The rapid decline of priests in the US has led to an enormous number of lay people in leadership positions, but they can't preside at the Eucharist (the heart and soul of Catholic identity and practice), and their roles are nebulous, undefined, and severely constrained. Catholic women are voting with their feet over the church's failure to ordain women. Lay theologians, men and women, now outnumber priest theologians, but have little "standing" in the church outside of academia. Far-reaching agreements on theological issues have been made between Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism and Lutheranism, but the practical consequences (e.g., shared Eucharists) are nil. It is against this background that David Power, the doyen of sacramental theologians in North America, has written a magisterial work on the mission, ministry, and order of the church that is historically comprehensive, theologically progressive, ecumenically and globally focused, and practical in its prescriptions.
