Download or read book Quelques ph nom nes d interaction d ondes en optique non lin aire written by David Lannes and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: L'OBJET DE CETTE THESE EST L'ETUDE QUALITATIVE DE SOLUTIONS OSCILLANTES HAUTE FREQUENCE DE PROBLEMES HYPERBOLIQUES NON LINEAIRES. NOUS REPRENONS LA DISTINCTION TRADITIONNELLE ENTRE OPTIQUE GEOMETRIQUE ET OPTIQUE DIFFRACTIVE. NOUS DONNONS, DANS LE CADRE DE L'OPTIQUE GEOMETRIQUE, UN THEOREME QUI AMELIORE LE RESULTAT CLASSIQUE SELON LEQUEL LA SOLUTION DE L'OPTIQUE GEOMETRIQUE EST VALABLE POUR DES TEMPS O(1) (PAR RAPPORT AU PETIT PARAMETRE , LONGUEUR D'ONDE DES OSCILLATIONS) : NOUS MONTRONS, SOUS CERTAINES HYPOTHESES, QUE CETTE DUREE DE VALIDITE PEUT ETRE PORTEE A O(|LN |). TOUJOURS DANS LE CADRE NON DIFFRACTIF, NOUS DEVELOPPONS UN FORMALISME NOUVEAU DE MANIERE A POUVOIR ETUDIER DES OSCILLATIONS A SPECTRE CONTINU. NOUS MONTRONS QUE NOUS POUVONS APPLIQUER LES METHODES DE L'OPTIQUE GEOMETRIQUE DANS CE NOUVEAU CADRE ET NOUS SERVONS DES RESULTATS ETABLIS POUR ANALYSER L'EFFET RAMAN. EN OPTIQUE DIFFRACTIVE ON REALISE TOUT D'ABORD UNE ETUDE GENERALE QUI PERMET DE PRENDRE EN COMPTE LES EFFETS DE REDRESSEMENT OPTIQUE DANS LES MILIEUX DISPERSIFS. NOUS DONNONS NOTAMMENT UNE PROPRIETE GEOMETRIQUE VERIFIEE PAR L'OPERATEUR DE PROPAGATION DU MODE MOYEN, ET INTRODUISONS DES OPERATEURS, LES PROJECTEURS MOYENNE, QUI PERMETTENT D'OBTENIR LES EQUATIONS D'EVOLUTION ASYMPTOTIQUES DE MANIERE ELEMENTAIRE. CONSTATANT QU'A CAUSE DE PHENOMENES DITS DE TRANSPARENCE, LES EFFETS NON LINEAIRES NE SE MANIFESTENT PAS DANS BEAUCOUP D'EXEMPLES PHYSIQUES, ON SE PROPOSE D'ETUDIER DANS CES CAS LA DES SOLUTIONS DE PLUS GRANDE AMPLITUDE POUVANT DONNER LIEU A DES PHENOMENES DE REDRESSEMENT OPTIQUE. PAR RAPPORT AUX ETUDES DIFFRACTIVES CLASSIQUES, NOUS DEVONS POUR CELA INTRODUIRE UNE ECHELLE DE VARIABLES SUPPLEMENTAIRE, EN O(). NOUS DONNONS EGALEMENT DES EXEMPLES PHYSIQUES TIRES DE L'OPTIQUE ET DE LA THEORIE DES ONDES HYDRODYNAMIQUES DE SURFACE.

Book Waves and Particles in Light and Matter

Download or read book Waves and Particles in Light and Matter written by Augusto Garuccio and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From September 24 through 30, 1992 the Workshop on "Waves and Parti cles in Light and Matter" was held in the Italian city of Trani in celebration of the centenary of Louis de Broglie's birth. As is well known, the relationship between quantum theory and ob jective reality was one of the main threads running through the researches of this French physicist. It was therefore in a fitting tribute to him on his 90th birthday that ten years ago an international conference on the same subject was convened in Perugia. On that occasion, physicists from all over the world interested in the problematics of wave-particle duality engaged in thoughtful debates (the proceedings of which were subsequently published) on recent theoretical and experimental developments in our understanding of the foundations of quantum mechanics. This time around, about 120 scientists, coming from 5 continents, in the warm and pleasant atmosphere of Trani's Colonna Conference Center focussed their discussions on recent results concerned with the EPR para dox, matter-interferometry, reality of de Broglie's waves, photon detection, macroscopic quantum coherence, alternative theories to usual quantum mechanics, special relativity, state reduction, and other related topics. The workshop was organized in plenary sessions, round tables, and poster sessions, and the present volume collects most-but not all-of the presented papers. A number of acknowledgements are due. We thank, first of all, the contributors, without whose constant dedication this volume could not have been published.
