Book Optimizing the Performance of Synchronization Process

Download or read book Optimizing the Performance of Synchronization Process written by Rshdee Alhakim and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These works are in the theme of modelling and optimization of wireless communication systems used in particular in wireless sensor networks and indoor applications. In this area, the impulse-radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) technology is considered as a promising solution, because it offers significant potential in terms of fine time-domain resolution, low power and low cost on-chip implementation facility, high secure and safety, and its ability to coexist with narrowband systems. However, the timing synchronization process is still a major challenge that must be addressed in order to enable UWB transmission systems to reach a desired BER quality level. Synchronization systems are usually composed of three main units: signal detection, timing acquisition and tracking. The objective of this manuscript is to develop methods to control synchronization to optimize the quality of transmission of UWB signals. The timing with dirty template approach is proposed as a promising candidate for achieving rapid, accurate and low-complexity synchronization. The dirty template technique is utilized to develop and test the performance of the three aforementioned synchronization system units.

The result is code that's robust, maintainable and fast.

Book Resource Management for Wireless System Optimization Transmission and Services

Download or read book Resource Management for Wireless System Optimization Transmission and Services written by Hang Qin and published by Scientific Research Publishing, Inc. USA. This book was released on 2017-05-31 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Due to many factors including power control, scheduling, flow routing, and so on, the resource management via optimization is the key to ensure overall end-to-end performance of wireless systems. Data transmission and the service, is one of the most important topics for the future wireless and communication networks. In the past decade, people have witnessed a significant progress in the advance of resource management over wireless systems. It is not only an important research topic, but also emerging as an integral material for graduate-level networking courses for students in Computing Science major. Nevertheless, there are few books available to date that can serve such a purpose. It is because of the cross-disciplines that resource management requires, which cover a broad range of topics, making it especially challenging to develop a specific book to cover them all. For instance, cross-layer resource management has to be specific with different design variables and constraints, hence different networking scenarios have different end-to-end utility goals and service objectives, and different problem formulations to employ different optimization methods. To respond to the need of such a book for graduate/undergraduate students, researchers and engineers, this book try to tackle the difficulties by bringing together the resource management and optimization design in wireless system. This intent is to either serve as a textbook for advanced graduate-level courses on wireless and communication networks, or as a reference book by students and engineers.

Book Modeling and Optimization in Software Defined Networks

Download or read book Modeling and Optimization in Software Defined Networks written by Konstantinos Poularakis and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a quick reference and insights into modeling and optimization of software-defined networks (SDNs). It covers various algorithms and approaches that have been developed for optimizations related to the control plane, the considerable research related to data plane optimization, and topics that have significant potential for research and advances to the state-of-the-art in SDN. Over the past ten years, network programmability has transitioned from research concepts to more mainstream technology through the advent of technologies amenable to programmability such as service chaining, virtual network functions, and programmability of the data plane. However, the rapid development in SDN technologies has been the key driver behind its evolution. The logically centralized abstraction of network states enabled by SDN facilitates programmability and use of sophisticated optimization and control algorithms for enhancing network performance, policy management, and security.Furthermore, the centralized aggregation of network telemetry facilitates use of data-driven machine learning-based methods. To fully unleash the power of this new SDN paradigm, though, various architectural design, deployment, and operations questions need to be addressed. Associated with these are various modeling, resource allocation, and optimization opportunities. The book covers these opportunities and associated challenges, which represent a ``call to arms'' for the SDN community to develop new modeling and optimization methods that will complement or improve on the current norms.
