This book was released on 2024-09-01 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text explores the state-of-the-art in the rapidly developing theory of impulse control and introduces the theory of singular space-time transformations, a new method for studying shock mechanical systems. Two approaches in the theory of impulse control are presented: The first, more traditional approach defines the impulsive action as a discontinuity of phase coordinates depending on the current time, the state preceding the action, and its magnitude. The second requires the use of modern methods for describing dynamical systems - differential equations with measures. The impulse is treated as an idealization of a very short action of high magnitude, which produces an almost abrupt change of phase coordinates. The relation between these two approaches is also discussed, and several applications, both traditional and emerging, are considered. This text is intended for graduate students and researchers in control engineering and optimal control theory for dynamical systems. Readers are assumed to be familiar with the theory of ODEs, optimal control, and functional analysis, though an appendix is included that covers many of the necessary mathematical concepts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a completely new and highly application-oriented field of nonlinear analysis. The work covers the theory of non-smooth input-output systems and presents various methods to non-standard applications in mathematics and physics. A particular focus lies on hysteresis and relay phenomena, electric circuits with diode nonlinearities, and biological systems with constraints.

This book was released on 2016-08-10 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the interplay of mechanics, electronics, electrotechnics, automation and biomechanics. It provides a broad overview of mechatronics systems ranging from modeling and dimensional analysis, and an overview of magnetic, electromagnetic and piezo-electric phenomena. It also includes the investigation of the pneumo-fluid-mechanical, as well as electrohydraulic servo systems, modeling of dynamics of an atom/particle embedded in the magnetic field, integrity aspects of the Maxwell's equations, the selected optimization problems of angular velocity control of a DC motor subjected to chaotic disturbances with and without stick-slip dynamics, and the analysis of a human chest adjacent to the elastic backrest aimed at controlling force to minimize relative compression of the chest employing the LQR.This book provides a theoretical background on the analysis of various kinds of mechatronics systems, along with their computational analysis, control, optimization as well as laboratory investigations.

Download or read book Discontinuous Systems written by Yury V. Orlov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-10-28 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discontinuous Systems develops nonsmooth stability analysis and discontinuous control synthesis based on novel modeling of discontinuous dynamic systems, operating under uncertain conditions. While being primarily a research monograph devoted to the theory of discontinuous dynamic systems, no background in discontinuous systems is required; such systems are introduced in the book at the appropriate conceptual level. Being developed for discontinuous systems, the theory is successfully applied to their subclasses – variable-structure and impulsive systems – as well as to finite- and infinite-dimensional systems such as distributed-parameter and time-delay systems. The presentation concentrates on algorithms rather than on technical implementation although theoretical results are illustrated by electromechanical applications. These specific applications complete the book and, together with the introductory theoretical constituents bring some elements of the tutorial to the text.

Download or read book Feedback Systems written by Karl Johan Åström and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2021-02-02 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The essential introduction to the principles and applications of feedback systems—now fully revised and expanded This textbook covers the mathematics needed to model, analyze, and design feedback systems. Now more user-friendly than ever, this revised and expanded edition of Feedback Systems is a one-volume resource for students and researchers in mathematics and engineering. It has applications across a range of disciplines that utilize feedback in physical, biological, information, and economic systems. Karl Åström and Richard Murray use techniques from physics, computer science, and operations research to introduce control-oriented modeling. They begin with state space tools for analysis and design, including stability of solutions, Lyapunov functions, reachability, state feedback observability, and estimators. The matrix exponential plays a central role in the analysis of linear control systems, allowing a concise development of many of the key concepts for this class of models. Åström and Murray then develop and explain tools in the frequency domain, including transfer functions, Nyquist analysis, PID control, frequency domain design, and robustness. Features a new chapter on design principles and tools, illustrating the types of problems that can be solved using feedback Includes a new chapter on fundamental limits and new material on the Routh-Hurwitz criterion and root locus plots Provides exercises at the end of every chapter Comes with an electronic solutions manual An ideal textbook for undergraduate and graduate students Indispensable for researchers seeking a self-contained resource on control theory
