Book Practical Electric Motor Handbook

Download or read book Practical Electric Motor Handbook written by Irving Gottlieb and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1997-08-21 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experienced product designers are increasingly expected to be adept at incorporating a range of components into their designs. Students and experimenters too need to look beyond basic circuits and devices to achieve adequate design solutions. For those experienced in engineering design, this is the guide to electric motors. This book will allow engineers and designers to marry the technologies they know about with motor technology, and hence to incorporate motors into their products. Of the many good books on motors, such as Electric Motors and Drives by Hughes, none offer the engineering professional a tailored guide to motors taking into account their expertise. This book fills that gap. Irving Gottlieb is a leading author of many books for practising engineers, technicians and students of electronic and electrical engineering. Practical approach with minimum theory Covers a core area ignored by many electronics texts Shows how to incorporate motors into electronic products

Download or read book Electricity Generation Using Wind Power Second Edition written by William Shepherd and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-01-05 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is wind power the answer to our energy supply problems? Is there enough wind for everyone? Is offshore generation better than onshore generation? Can a roof-mounted wind turbine generate enough electricity to supply a typical domestic household?Electricity Generation Using Wind Power (2nd Edition) answers these pressing questions through its detailed coverage of the different types of electrical generator machines used, as well as the power electronic converter technologies and control principles employed. Also covered is the integration of wind farms into established electricity grid systems, plus environmental and economic aspects of wind generation.Written for technically minded readers, especially electrical engineers concerned with the possible use of wind power for generating electricity, it incorporates some global meteorological and geographical features of wind supply plus a survey of past and present wind turbines. Included is a technical assessment of the choice of turbine sites. The principles and analysis of wind power conversion, transmission and efficiency evaluation are described. This book includes worked numerical examples in some chapters, plus end of chapter problems and review questions, with answers. As a textbook it is pitched at the level of final year undergraduate engineering study but may also be useful as a textbook or reference for wider technical studies.
