Book One Tree Many Branches

Download or read book One Tree Many Branches written by Di Gammage and published by Karnac Books. This book was released on 2023-09-15 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book includes contributions from Audrey Adeyemi, Tasha Bailey, Kelly Brackett, Jamie Butterworth, Alix Hearn, Evania Inward, Irene Mburu, Sasha Morphitis, Magda Raczynska, Nadja Rolli, Zisi Schleider, and Anna Tuttle. One Tree, Many Branches: The Practice of Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the pioneering child and adolescent psychotherapy and counselling training organisation Terapia and the achievements of its trainees, tutors, and staff, who provide highly specialised counselling, psychotherapy, and bespoke mental health services for young people, children, parents, and families. Terapia works with individuals, organisations, schools, and the statutory and non-statutory sector and is a strong voice for child psychotherapy as a distinct and specialist profession. Therapeutic work with children requires a different set of skills and knowledge to that of adult psychotherapists. For example, much of the work is non-verbal and uses play and metaphor alongside talking. It also requires involvement with the system around the child, such as parents, families, and professionals, and the management of conflicting agendas and politics to act on behalf of the child. Subjects discussed within its pages include ecopsychotherapy, autism, the lack of male psychotherapists, working with refugees, racial trauma, female genital mutilation, working in closed communities, and foetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The book is essential reading for all who work with children and opens up exciting and pioneering new approaches for meeting the multifarious needs of our children and adolescents today.

This digital edition allows young readers and lifelong fans to continue the legacy and love of a classic that will now reach an even wider audience. "Once there was a tree...and she loved a little boy." So begins a story of unforgettable perception, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted and versatile Shel Silverstein. This moving parable for all ages offers a touching interpretation of the gift of giving and a serene acceptance of another's capacity to love in return. Every day the boy would come to the tree to eat her apples, swing from her branches, or slide down her trunk...and the tree was happy. But as the boy grew older he began to want more from the tree, and the tree gave and gave and gave. This is a tender story, touched with sadness, aglow with consolation. Shel Silverstein's incomparable career as a bestselling children's book author and illustrator began with Lafcadio, the Lion Who Shot Back. He is also the creator of picture books including A Giraffe and a Half, Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros?, The Missing Piece, The Missing Piece Meets the Big O, and the perennial favorite The Giving Tree, and of classic poetry collections such as Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic, Falling Up, Every Thing On It, Don't Bump the Glump!, and Runny Babbit. And don't miss the other Shel Silverstein ebooks, Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic!

Book The Tree with Many Branches

Download or read book The Tree with Many Branches written by Tommy Rodriguez and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2020-08-20 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Want to build an evolutionary tree? Here’s your chance to learn how. The field of bioinformatics was born out of the need to manage, analyze, and examine raw genomic data in meaningful and exciting ways, such as the discipline of computational phylogenetics would provide. The evolutionary inferences reached among the several peer-reviewed articles contained in this book are neither novel nor breakthrough. However, it is in the application of computational techniques, experiment design, and probabilistic models where this research finds a stronghold. As a matter of practicality, the original manuscripts have been edited for a broader audience due to its highly technical language. The essays compiled in these pages have undergone a facelift, from their original scientific format into a more reader-friendly layout, as to better accommodate two different perspectives – both experts and non-experts alike.

Book excerpt: The internationally known author and speaker provides an insightful look into the fusion of ecological issues and global gender politics. This book on the importance of trees grew out of Bolen’s experience mourning the loss of a Monterey pine that was cut down in her neighborhood. That, combined with her practice of walking among tall trees, led to her deep connection with trees and an understanding of their many complexities. She expertly explores the dynamics of ecological activism, spiritual activism, and sacred feminism. And, she invites us to join the movement to save trees. While there is still much work to be done to address environmental problems, there are many stories of individuals and organizations rising up to make a change and help save our planet. The words and stories that Bolen weaves throughout this book are both inspirational and down-to-earth, calling us to realize what is happening to not only our trees, but our people. In Like a Tree learn more about: The dynamic nature of trees — from their anatomy to their role as an archetypal symbol Pressing social issues such as deforestation, global warming, and overpopulation What it means to be a “tree person” “You will never again see [a tree] without knowing it has a novel inside, it’s supporting your life, and it’s more spiritual than any church, temple or mosque. Like a Tree is the rare book that not only informs, but offers a larger consciousness of life itself.” —Gloria Steinem

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This project presents in three volumes the Mishnah’s and the Tosefta’s first division, Zera‘im (Agriculture), organized in eleven topical tractates, together with a systematic history of the law of Zeraim in the Mishnah. To the exposition of the Halakhah on the chosen topic, the Mishnah-tractates are primary but complemented by the Tosefta’s presentation of its collection of glosses of the Mishnah’s law and supplements to that law. The Mishnah’s and the Tosefta’s tractates are integrated, with the Tosefta’s complement given in the setting of the Mishnah’s rules, and the whole is given in English translation. The presentation in each case encompasses an introduction, a form-analytical translation and commentary, a systematic integration of the Tosefta’s compositions into the Mishnah’s laws, an explanation of the details of the law, and an inquiry into how the Halakhah of the Mishnah and that of the Tosefta intersect, item by item.

Book The God Function Deus Ex Grammatica

Download or read book The God Function Deus Ex Grammatica written by Morgan A. Brown and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-10-08 with total page 706 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if Theists and Atheists are both objectively wrong? What if the Agnostics have completely missed the point? THE ARGUMENT FROM GRAMMAR explores the omnipotent and omniscient ""God"" that is justified by reason in philosophy and religion. Brown demonstrates that we can justify this denotation in grammatical terms by recognizing in ""Subjects predicate"" a universally-valid Form of knowledge (""all knowledge"") and action (""all power""). Brown then proceeds to lay out an epistemological foundation for the human sciences, drawing upon a philosophical tradition rooted in the thought of Protagoras, Kant, Schopenhauer, and F.A. Hayek. Brown turns his critique of theism back upon the atheists in order to show how grammatical theory can also answer arguments against the God Thesis. If THE ARGUMENT FROM GRAMMAR can answer the objections of the Atheists while satisfying the Theists, then the future of the debate over the existence of a rationally-justified God shall be a debate over grammar and nothing more.
