In ONE LOVE, ONE LIFE, Billy now tells his stories from the stars, from skipping Christmas dinner to see The Sex Pistols at the peak of their notoriety to friendships and adventures with some of music's biggest names and scoops that have hit the headlines. As well as legendary music and gigs, there's Grace Jones in the bath, candid conversations with Rod Stewart, football in Brazil with Simple Minds, a tour of the White House with Paolo Nutini, close encounters with U2 and so much more. Plus, the interviews that definitely didn't go as planned. Book excerpt: Love, the most intriguing, mystical and vibrant emotion ever experienced by humans. Nevertheless, it is also the most complex and yet to be understood emotion. Ask anyone what love is? And the most common answer you would get is, 'it is a feeling which cannot be completely defined'. Strange but true. An emotion which in the history of mankind has changed destinies and shaped millions of lives is still not fully comprehended. But, if you ask this question to 'Rishi Sinha' the only answer you will get is 'Ananya Tripathi'. Life has completely changed since the day he confessed his love for her. Romantic dates, late night phone calls and never ending SMS's. A 'happy go lucky couple', madly and completely in love. Everything was going on smooth until one day, when Rishi is put into a National Level competition with 'Pragya'... his screwed up past and the biggest mistake of his life. He has no choice but to represent his college with Pragya and of course win the title too. Rishi tells Ananya about the competition, who, like a mature girl understands his condition and has no objection in his working with her. But, fate has something else in store for him. Now Rishi is in a dilemma. On one side is 'Ananya', the love of his life and on the other side is 'Pragya', a dying and needy friend. On one side is his most ruined past, while on the other his present, his future. He has to choose between the two. Whom will he choose? 'One Life, One Love' is a tale of 'Love' and 'Friendship' along with some social issues like 'Prostitution', 'Mafia', 'Live in' and 'Gambling' which we talk and read about daily but never realise how intense they are. Book excerpt: It was the last few weeks of high school and in those few short weeks a dramatic change came about in the life of senior Paul Abbaszadeh. It can only be described as magical and "fairytale-like". After four years of futile attempts at dating he never expected to find anyone who would truly appreciate him for who he was. That all changed in an instance when he finally met that one special person. She came into his life and from then on everything changed. How beautiful life was; it had taken nearly four years and when he least expected it, love crept up on him. She was everything he could ever want in a girl, smart, charming, funny, charismatic and of course beautiful. Everything was perfect. Then the summer came and it played out like a classic Hollywood film. No other two people could have been so in love. The summer ended and they were separated in distance as they parted for college. Not even the distance could mar their love for one another as their love endured and their bond grew stronger with each passing day. One Love is a true love story, a written account taken from the Memoirs of Paul Abbaszadeh. You will discover the beauty and innocence of young love from high school to the carefree days of summer and beyond written in the most sincere form.

Book One Life

Download or read book One Life written by Megan Rapinoe and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2020-11-10 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An instant New York Times bestseller! “Rapinoe's 'signature pose' from the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup is synonymous to the feeling we got when finishing this book: heart full, arms wide and ready to take up space in this world.”—USA Today Megan Rapinoe, Olympic gold medalist and two-time Women's World Cup champion, reveals for the first time her life both on and off the field. Guided by her personal journey into social justice, brimming with humor, humanity, and joy, she urges all of us to ask ourselves, What will you do with your one life? Only four years old when she kicked her first soccer ball, Megan Rapinoe developed a love – and clear talent – for the game at a young age. But it was her parents who taught her that winning was much less important than how she lived her life. From childhood on, Rapinoe always did what she could to stand up for what was right—even if it meant going up against people who disagreed. In One Life, Megan Rapinoe invites readers on a remarkable journey, looking back on both her victories and her failures, and pulls back the curtain on events we know only from the headlines. After the 2011 World Cup, discouraged by how few athletes were open about their sexuality, Rapinoe decided to come out publicly as gay and use her platform to advocate for marriage equality. Recognizing the power she had to bring attention to critical issues, in 2016 she took a knee during the national anthem in solidarity with former NFL player Colin Kaepernick to protest racial injustice and police brutality—the first high-profile white athlete to do so. The backlash was immediate, but it couldn’t compare to the overwhelming support. Rapinoe became a force of change. Here for the first time, Rapinoe reflects upon some of the most pivotal moments in her life and career – from her realization in college that she was gay, through the disputes with soccer coaches and officials over her decision to kneel, to the first time she met her now-fiancé WNBA champion Sue Bird, and up through suing the US Soccer Federation over gender discrimination and equal pay. Throughout, Rapinoe makes clear the obligation we all have to speak up, and the impact each of us can have on our communities. Deeply personal and inspiring, One Life reveals that real, concrete change lies within all of us, and asks: If we all have the same resource—this one precious life, made up of the decisions we make every day—what are you going to do? "One Life makes it clear that Rapinoe’s greatest accomplishments may ultimately come away from the soccer pitch. She’s a new kind of American hero."—San Francisco Chronicle

Book excerpt: This book is a reminder for family, friends, and all who read it, of a special love and bond that this author shared with others through God's blessings. Her poems are drawn from family, friends, and memories throughout her life. She was privileged to have had three of her poems chosen to be published on separate occasions and in different books during the past few years. All three of these poems are included in this book. One of the books entitled "Stars in Our Hearts," published her poem, "Where Have the Years Gone, My Son." She wrote "Thru a Soldier's Eyes" for her brothers while they were serving in Vietnam. However, there are six poems in the book that have been rewritten, based on papers given her from her brother, SSgt. John W. Atkinson, written on his thoughts, events, and prayers while he was serving in Vietnam. Together, they have rewritten them in a more poetry-like form for the book. She wishes to include these six poems, especially, in honor of her brother, SSgt Atkinson, as well as Alvin Atkinson, their older brother, who also served and to honor all of the soldiers, who served, fought, and died in Vietnam or any war. It is this author's wish that each one who reads this book receives a blessing from it and enjoys it as much as she enjoyed writing it. God bless you all.

Book One Love

Download or read book One Love written by and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2003-05-27 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the direct result of a chance meeting in a New York City hotel room in 1973 between the just-about-to-be reggae icon Bob Marley and Lee Jaffe -- a precocious twenty three year old artist and filmmaker with a keenly tuned instinct for history. Within hours these two unlikely collaborators would begin a friendship that would see Jaffe becoming a "Wailer" right down to his dreadlocks, while Bob Marley became a musical legend. At the time of their meeting, Marley was well known in Jamaica, but little known in the rest of the world. Jaffe witnessed Marley's life and increasing fame during the frenzied early years of reggae's development from 1973 to 1976. He was a part of it too, helping organize Marley's first American tour, playing harmonica with the Wailers, and learning Rastafarian ways. And he took wonderful, candid photographs of Bob Marley and the many colorful characters moving through Marley's world. Jaffe's intimate recollections of those exciting years are little diminished by time. Indeed, his words are as vivid as the photographs, and as revealing. One Love is a playful combination of unpublished photographs in various formats, transcripts of interviews between Lee Jaffe and reggae expert Roger Steffens, and Jaffe's meticulously observed recollections, each element illuminating the others. Here at last is the deepest insider's account of those tumultuous days that catapulted Marley into international fame -- words and pictures that further cement his reputation as what Time magazine would call "Artist of the Century."
