Book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory

Download or read book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory written by Alexander Ya. Grigorenko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-02 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This brief book presents solutions of stress-strain problems for a wide class of anisotropic inhomogeneous shells obtained by the refined model. Studying these problems results in severe computational difficulties due to partial differential equations with variable coefficients resulting from the constitutive relations of the original model. To solve this problem the book uses spline-collocation and discrete-orthogonalization methods. It analyses the influence of geometrical and mechanical parameters, of various kinds of boundary conditions, and of the loading conditions on the distributions of stress and displacement fields in shallow, spherical, conical, and noncircular cylindrical shells. The dependence of the stress-strain pattern on shell thickness variations is studied. The authors solve the problem also for the case of the thickness varying in two directions. They study how a variation in shell thickness influences the stress-strain state and consider noncircular cylindrical shells with elliptical and corrugated sections are considered. The results obtained during numerous calculations support the efficiency of the discrete-orthogonalization approach proposed in the monograph for solving static problems for anisotropic inhomogeneous shells when using the refined model.

Book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory

Download or read book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory written by Alexander Ya. Grigorenko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-02 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These two-partition books present essential approaches to numerical-analytical solutions of problems in the mechanics of shells with various structures and shapes based on refined and spatial models. Further, it examines the mechanical behavior of shallow, circular and noncircular, conical, spherical, and functionally graded shells obtained by the refined model. The book investigates the stress-strain state and free vibrations of finite-length cylinders in spatial formulation (3D elasticity theory). Further, it analyzes the influence of geometrical and mechanical parameters, of boundary conditions, and of the loading character on both the distributions of stress and displacement fields, and on the dynamical characteristics in these shells and cylinders. Lastly, it discusses in detail the validation of reliability for the results obtained by numerical calculations. As such, it complements the first part of the book, the volume Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory: Applications of Refined and Three-dimensional Theory.

Book Asymptotic Theory Of Anisotropic Plates And Shells

Download or read book Asymptotic Theory Of Anisotropic Plates And Shells written by Lenser A Aghalovyan and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-03-03 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A consistent theory for thin anisotropic layered structures is developed starting from asymptotic analysis of 3D equations in linear elasticity. The consideration is not restricted to the traditional boundary conditions along the faces of the structure expressed in terms of stresses, originating a new type of boundary value problems, which is not governed by the classical Kirchhoff-Love assumptions. More general boundary value problems, in particular related to elastic foundations are also studied. The general asymptotic approach is illustrated by a number of particular problems for elastic and thermoelastic beams and plates. For the latter, the validity of derived approximate theories is investigated by comparison with associated exact solution. The author also develops an asymptotic approach to dynamic analysis of layered media composed of thin layers motivated by modeling of engineering structures under seismic excitation.

Book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory

Download or read book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory written by Alexander Ya Grigorenko and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume focuses on the relevant general theory and presents some first applications, namely those based on classical shell theory. After a brief introduction, during which the history and state-of-the-art are discussed, the first chapter presents the mechanics of anisotropic heterogeneous shells, covering all relevant assumptions and the basic relations of 3D elasticity, classical and refined shell models. The second chapter examines the numerical techniques that are used, namely discrete orthogonalization, spline-collocation and Fourier series, while the third highlights applications based on classical theory, in particular, the stress-strain state of shallow shells, non-circular shells, shells of revolution, and free vibrations of conical shells. The book concludes with a summary and an outlook bridging the gap to the second volume.

Book The Theory of Anisotropic Elastic Plates

Download or read book The Theory of Anisotropic Elastic Plates written by T.S. Vashakmadze and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main purpose of this work is construction of the mathematical theory of elastic plates and shells, by means of which the investigation of basic boundary value problems of the spatial theory of elasticity in the case of cylindrical do mains reduces to the study of two-dimensional boundary value problems (BVP) of comparatively simple structure. In this respect in sections 2-5 after the introductory material, methods of re duction, known in the literature as usually being based on simplifying hypotheses, are studied. Here, in contradiction to classical methods, the problems, connected with construction of refined theories of anisotropic nonhomogeneous plates with variable thickness without the assumption of any physical and geometrical re strictions, are investigated. The comparative analysis of such reduction methods was carried out, and, in particular, in section 5, the following fact was established: the error transition, occuring with substitution of a two-dimensional model for the initial problem on the class of assumed solutions is restricted from below. Further, in section 6, Vekua's method of reduction, containing regular pro cess of study of three-dimensional problem, is investigated. In this direction, the problems, connected with solvability, convergence of processes, and construction of effective algorithms of approximate solutions are studied.

Book Nondimensional Parameters and Equations for Nonlinear and Bifurcation Analyses of Thin Anisotropic Quasi Shallow Shells

Download or read book Nondimensional Parameters and Equations for Nonlinear and Bifurcation Analyses of Thin Anisotropic Quasi Shallow Shells written by Michael P. Nemeth and published by BiblioGov. This book was released on 2013-07 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive development of nondimensional parameters and equations for nonlinear and bifurcations analyses of quasi-shallow shells, based on the Donnell-Mushtari-Vlasov theory for thin anisotropic shells, is presented. A complete set of field equations for geometrically imperfect shells is presented in terms general of lines-of-curvature coordinates. A systematic nondimensionalization of these equations is developed, several new nondimensional parameters are defined, and a comprehensive stress-function formulation is presented that includes variational principles for equilibrium and compatibility. Bifurcation analysis is applied to the nondimensional nonlinear field equations and a comprehensive set of bifurcation equations are presented. An extensive collection of tables and figures are presented that show the effects of lamina material properties and stacking sequence on the nondimensional parameters.
