Book On the Problem of Antenna Pattern Synthesis and Optimum Aperture Distribution Under Constraint

Download or read book On the Problem of Antenna Pattern Synthesis and Optimum Aperture Distribution Under Constraint written by Thomas S. Fong and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The antenna pattern synthesis problem for a finite line source is formulated and treated in the space of absolutely square-integrable functions. A close examination is made of the condition that must be imposed on the desired radiation pattern so that the problem is solvable. The optimum aperture distribution is determined by the variational technique, subject to the requirement that the approximating radiation patterns should have a superdirective ratio less than or equal to some fixed positive value. The optimality of the solution is demonstrated by considering the sufficient condition. The error criterion is measured in the mean-square sense. (Author).

Book Computational Methods for Antenna Pattern Synthesis

Download or read book Computational Methods for Antenna Pattern Synthesis written by Joseph R. Mautz and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some general numerical methods for antenna pattern synthesis, with and without constraints, are developed in this report. Particular cases considered are (1) field pattern specified in amplitude and phase, (2) field pattern specified in amplitude only, (3) these two cases with a constraint on the source quality factor. Both the source and the field are discretized at the beginning, and the methods of finite dimentional vector spaces are used for the computations. The theory is general, but is applied only to point sources arbitrarily distributed in a plane, and to pattern synthesis in this plane. Some numerical examples are given for ten sources approximately equispaced on one-half of an ellipse, with the desired field pattern chosen to be the cosecant phi pattern in the first quadrant. Book Synthesis of Antenna Patterns with Null Constraints

Download or read book Synthesis of Antenna Patterns with Null Constraints written by Hans P. Steyskal and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gaussian antenna pattern synthesis method is extended to include constraints such as pattern nulls or pattern derivative nulls at a given set of angles. The problem is formulated as a constrained approximation problem which is solved exactly, and a clear geometrical interpretation of the solution is given in a multidimensional vector space. The relation of the present method to those of constrained gain-maximization and signal-noise ratio maximization is discussed and conditions for their equivalence stated. For a linear uniform N-element array, it is shown that when M nulls are imposed on a given 'quiescent' pattern, the optimum solution for the constrained pattern is the initial pattern and a set of M weighted (sin Nx)/sin x-beams. Each beam is centered exactly at the corresponding pattern null, irrespective of its relative location. In addition, simple quantitative expressions are derived for the pattern change and gain cost associated with the forced pattern nulls. (Author).

Book Advanced Metric Wave Radar

Download or read book Advanced Metric Wave Radar written by Jianqi Wu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-12 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book systematically describes advanced metric wave radar and its practical applications, offering a comprehensive introduction to the engineering design methods from the perspectives of system design, antenna/feed and transmit/receive subsystems, as well as mechanical structure design. Focusing on the height-finding method, it describes in detail how the super-resolution technique can be used to solve the problem of low-angle height finding in metric wave radar. It also discusses the anti-jamming method for the unique jamming environment. Further, it presents narrowband target recognition methods to overcome the limitations of narrow absolute bandwidth in metric wave radar and to further explore the technique’s potential. Cooperative detection for metric wave radar netting is also addressed, and the main experimental results are included. The book offers a valuable resource for professional engineers, researchers and teachers, as well as graduate students engaged in radar system engineering, electronic engineering, and signal processing.

Book Recent Wireless Power Transfer Technologies

Download or read book Recent Wireless Power Transfer Technologies written by Pedro Pinho and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-03-04 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Wireless Power Transfer concept is continuously and rapidly evolving and new challenges arise every day. As a result of these rapid changes, the need for up-to-date texts that address this growing field from an interdisciplinary perspective persists. This book, organized into ten chapters, presents interesting novel solutions in the exploitation of the near- and far-field techniques of wireless power transfer that will be used in the near future, as well as a bird's eye view of some aspects related to an emerging technological area that will change our lives and will change the paradigm of how we use electrical equipment. The book covers the theory and also the practical aspects of technology implementation in a way that is suitable for undergraduate and graduate-level students, as well as researchers and professional engineers.
