Book Follow the Lamb

  • Author : Rob Dalrymple
  • Publisher : Lexham Press
  • Release : 2018-08-28
  • ISBN : 1683592050
  • Pages : 171 pages

Download or read book Follow the Lamb written by Rob Dalrymple and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2018-08-28 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Revelation is one of the most rewarding books to study in all Scripture. But the problem for many today is that they have no idea what the book means or how to determine what it means. Follow the Lamb goes a long way in helping the student of Revelation grasp its richness and heed its exhortations. Dalyrmple's guide provides key principles in reading Revelation responsibly. The first key is that the book is about Jesus—his supremacy and sovereignty. The second key is that the language and images used in the book of Revelation derive from the Old Testament. Though many readers get caught up in the mire of John's imagery and efforts to discern what the symbols mean, this principle simplifies the search for meaning. Each chapter in Follow the Lamb concludes with an important For Further Study section, making it an ideal resource for individual or group study. These questions and exercises and reflection guides make personal application of Revelation meaningful and rich. The book of Revelation contains an important message for the people of God, both then and now—namely, that the people of God must emulate Jesus and faithfully proclaim the kingdom of God, even to the point of death. This means they are called to "follow the Lamb wherever He goes" (Rev. 14:4).

Book The Lamb s Supper

    Book Details:
  • Author : Scott Hahn
  • Publisher : Image
  • Release : 2002-06-18
  • ISBN : 0385504802
  • Pages : 192 pages

Download or read book The Lamb s Supper written by Scott Hahn and published by Image. This book was released on 2002-06-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As seen on EWTN, bestselling author Scott Hahn unveils the mysteries of the Mass, offering readers a deeper appreciation of the most familiar of Catholic rituals. Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "Heaven on Earth," explaining that what "we celebrate on Earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy." The Lamb’s Supper reveals a long-lost secret of the Church: The early Christians' key to understanding the mysteries of the Mass was the New Testament Book of Revelation. With its bizarre imagery, its mystic visions of heaven, and its end-of-time prophecies, Revelation mirrors the sacrifice and celebration of the Eucharist. Beautifully written, in clear direct language, bestselling Catholic author Scott Hahn's new book will help readers see the Mass with new eyes, pray the liturgy with a renewed heart, and enter into the Mass more fully, enthusiastically, intelligently, and powerfully than ever before.

Then—surprise—the sheep gives birth to triplets! When she realizes that the mother has enough milk for only two of her newborns, Miriam knows that the third baby will have to be bottle-fed every four hours. But it's almost Passover, and the family is about to leave for her grandparents' seder. And it's Miriam's turn this year to ask the Four Questions, which she's been practicing for weeks! When Miriam's father decides that they must stay home to care for the lamb, it's up to Miriam to think of a clever and—hilariously fitting—way to rescue both the baby lamb and her family's holiday. Book excerpt: Worship is something that we do but it is not something that we create. The rites and ceremonies of Orthodox Christian worship today are the product of an organic growth and development, which has been guided by the Holy Spirit, and shaped by culture and experience. The manner in which Orthodox worship is conducted in the twenty-first century is not the precisely the way it was done in the seventeenth, or in the seventh. Some elements in worship communicate in the same way they have; others cease to do so, and are gradually replaced. Change occurs because anything that is alive grows and develops, but in worship this does not occur quickly, or for the sake of change; but carefully and organically, since the Church is instinctively conservative when it comes to its traditions. As we grow up, and our bodies develop, we do not suddenly decided to produce a third arm: it would make no sense, it would not have any real connection with how the human body functions, and it would not be part of the integral whole, but something that we must figure out what to do with each time we try to use it. This is true in worship: what develops in prayer and piety has an organic connection with what went before, or else it makes no sense: it must be a logical development of what went before, or else we must figure out why we are doing it each time we worship. If we must stop and decide why something is done each time that we worship, than something is wrong.

Book Leviticus Unveiled and Revealed

Download or read book Leviticus Unveiled and Revealed written by Jim Taylor and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many who feel that Leviticus is a dry, dull, and boring book. That is not so. The gospel is the life, the teachings, and the cross of Jesus, the Son of God. The only way that a person in this present age can have the forgiveness of sin and peace with God is through the gospel of Jesus the Son of God. The gospel is not dull and boring. It is the most read, the most cherished, the most translated, and the most published literature in the entire world. However, the Law of Moses, and the Levitical sacrifices that were part of that law, was the gospel of the Israelites. It was through the Law of Moses and the Levitical sacrifices that a person who lived before Christ could have the forgiveness of sin and peace with God, and therefore it cannot be dull and boring. This book is intended to make the book of Leviticus a living book and a very interesting Bible study. It will open up the Levitical letter and make it interesting by making it easy to understand. The book itself is easy to read and understand. It is written in a way that is quite reasonablein other words, it just makes sense. The purpose of this book is to give a portrayal of the Levitical sacrificial system, what the sacrifices meant to the worshipper who offered them, their purpose, what they accomplished, how God viewed them, and how they were fulfilled in Christ. That is all accomplished by very careful scriptural references that establish the points that are made in the book. When a person understands why there were so many different sacrifices such as the burnt offering, the meal offering, the peace offering, the guilt offering, the sin offering, the trespass offering, and othersand then he sees that each one of those sacrifices served a different purpose and they were all fulfilled in Christ is different ways, Leviticus becomes a book that you just cannot put down.

Book excerpt: This commentary on Revelation is for those who are looking for an easy-to-read, biblically central, and Christologically focused commentary on one of the most intriguing books of the Bible. It is a shame that pastors and followers of Jesus avoid the book of Revelation because of the confusing theories they heard about in the past, or just too many movies! This commentary attempts to get away from the needless debate (though different views are presented) and focus the reader’s attention on the primary focus of the book, the Lamb of God. The Lamb holds history in his hand by virtue of his eternal authority and his invested authority because of the blood that he spilled and his testimony. Therein lies his victory, and therein lies the victory for those who follow him.

The historical, spiritual, archeological, and geographic backgrounds of the seven churches. How to read the literary style of the apocalyptic writings of John’s time. The influence of Greek mythology and Roman imperial cult worship are a background to understanding the Book of Revelation. Download or read book The Five Offerings of Leviticus written by Jimmy Swaggart and published by Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. This book was released on 2021-07-06 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Without proper sacrifice, there can be no forgiveness, so where does that leave sinful man? He needs a sacrifice to remove his guilt, cleanse him from his defilements, and fit him for the holy presence of God. In the Old Testament, under Levitical law, it took five offerings—whole burnt, sin, trespass, peace, and meal—to properly portray the one offering of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. So what made these offerings significant? Drawing from the ancient pages of the Pentateuch, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart unearths the true meaning under these five offerings that were instructed by God Himself to Moses—offerings that portrayed the perfection, the glory, and the power of Jesus Christ.
