Download or read book WORSHIPPING IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH written by GODSWORD GODSWILL ONU and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-03-10 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Word of God says, "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and Truth" (Jn 4:24). To worship in spirit (or in Spirit) is to worship with your heart or human spirit (or to worship according to the Holy Spirit). This is opposed to worshipping in the flesh and according to the senses, as in the Old Testament. And you have to worship in Truth. To worship in Truth is to worship according to the Word of God. When you live in sin and say that you are praising and worshiping God, you are foolish: God has millions (or billions) of angels who worship and praise Him; and there are millions (or billions) of human beings who worship and praise God. If you live in disobedience to the Word of God that you know, even if you sing songs, and worship five hours everyday, you will still end in Hell Fire, unless you repent of your sin(s). Worship in spirit and Truth!

Download or read book True Worship written by Vaughan Roberts and published by Authentic Media Inc. This book was released on 2013-12-01 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the nature of true worship? What are we actaully doing when we meet together for 'church' on Sundays? And how does that connect with what we do the rest of the week? Vaughan Roberts answers these questions and more, as he brings readers back to the Bible in order to define what worship is and isn't, and what it should and shouldn't be. While we may struggle to define worship by arguing about singing hymns with the organ, versus modern songs with guitars and drums, or about the place of certain spiritual gifts, Roberts suggests we are asking the wrong questions. For true worship is more than this - it is to encompass the whole of life. This book challenges us to worship God every day of the week, with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.

Download or read book Liturgy and Justice written by Anne Y. Koester and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Liturgical celebrations and the work of justice are tightly woven threads of the same cloth. The essays in Liturgy and Justice explore this intrinsic relationship and its promise for the ongoing renewal of church life. The authors write about the vision of the modern liturgical and social reformers, building just communities, reuniting worship and justice, globalization, rural life, church leadership, women in the Church, justice and prayer in Latino and African American communities, liturgy as a school of discipleship, forming catechumens as disciples, the catechesis of liturgy-justice, preparing just liturgies, and preaching justice. Authentic discipleship demands that the already existing relationship between our liturgy and our mission as ministers of justice be lived. Those serving in all areas of church ministry will find this book helpful in striving for justice in the Christian life. Contributors are Gilbert Ostdiek, O.F.M.; Eleanor Josaitis; Msgr. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to enter the presence of Jesus? Can people today do this or only biblical characters? In this classic book, Joseph Carroll shows us what it means to truly come into Jesus’ presence. There is so much more to truly worshiping Jesus than church services and personal devotions. True worship requires complete commitment of emotions, intellect, and will—and our reward is great. Carroll directs us into the presence of Christ by drawing on Scripture, especially the book of Revelation, and by giving practical steps of personal worship. The experiences of some of history’s greatest saints also serve as relatable examples of true worship. This deeply practical and personal book will help us know Jesus more intimately on a daily basis. It will help us draw close to Christ, to experience His presence, and to worship Him in ways far better than what most of us imagine to be possible.

You will learn that worship is any essential expression of service rendered unto God by a soul that loves and extols Him for who He is. Worship is the nonstop role of believers, not merely part of a church service. So get ready to alter your priorities, aiming higher than entertaining worshipers on Sunday mornings. Worship shows that your ultimate priority must always be to worship the true and living God, with a radically different type of living.

Download or read book On First Principles written by Origen and published by Ave Maria Press. This book was released on 2013-12-09 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Origen’s On First Principles is a foundational work in the development of Christian thought and doctrine: it is the first attempt in history at a systematic Christian theology. For over a decade it has been out of print with only expensive used copies available; now it is available at an affordable price and in a more accessible format. On First Principles is the most important surviving text written by third-century Church father, Origen. Origen wrote in a time when fundamental doctrines had not yet been fully articulated by the Church, and contributed to the very formation of Christianity. Readers see Origen grappling with the mysteries of salvation and brainstorming how they can be understood. This edition presents G. W. Butterworth’s trusted translation in a new, more readable format, retains the introduction by Henri de Lubac, and includes a new foreword by John C. Cavadini. As St. Gregory of Nazianzus, Doctor of the Church, wrote: “Origen is the stone on which all of us were sharpened.”
